Victory Computer Services, Inc. Reviews (1)

Review: I purchased a new laptop. Shortly after purchase, the laptop was dropped and damaged. I brought the laptop to Victory Computer Services, to receive an estimate for repair. They charged us $238.98 to repair all of the damage to the laptop. After the repair was performed, I picked up the laptop and brought it home. Soon thereafter, the first time after the fix that the laptop ran out of power and needed to be re-charged, it would not power up again. When we brought the computer back to Victory Computer Services, they now said the laptop is not worth fixing, as it needed a system board. This issue should have been diagnosed when the laptop was tested in the first place. They only removed the broken screen, installed a new screen, and charged us for a new power pack. If the problem with the system board was diagnosed initally, we would never have paid $238.98 to Victory Computer Services to fix the screen and give us a new power pack. In essence, we paid $238.98 for a screen to be repaired on a laptop with internal damage that would not be able to power up again after it lost its charge. When we complained to Victory Computer Services and told them to issue a refund to us, they refused. When [redacted] from Victory Computer Services was asked to spell the name of his supervisor, he said his supervisor is G-O-D, and again refused to issue a refund.Desired Settlement: We are due a refund of $238.98 from this company.

Response:

Customer has been denied by Amex so she's trying to blame me for her problem. Amex has all proof of this case including customer's signature that the job was done properly & everything was working when they picked up the laptop. They re-opened the amex case 3 times & were denied as the problem is their own.

Response:

The customer is well aware that a full hardware diagnostic was run on the computer before ordering parts for repair. All hardware passed diagnostics. After repair everything was tested and running well. When customer picked up the computer they were shown that all was working well (including charging battery) - a new charger was part of the service. The problem isn't that the battery doesn't charge. The new problem is that the computer doesn't power on at all. They brought it back to me and I tried several chargers (no good). The system board is shorted out. This has nothing to do with the work I performed. The customer refuses to accept this. Unfortunately there is nothing I can do about it.

Consumer

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

Simply stated, I had a new laptop that worked fine until it was dropped. I brought the laptop to Victory Computer Services for an estimate for all damage (including internal damage) from the drop. Victory Computer Services informed me that the laptop needed a new screen and power pack to fix. I paid them for this fix, as it seemed to work the day it was picked up. Unfortunately, the laptop would not start up again after it lost its charge for the first time. Therefore, I do not feel that I should have to pay for this fix. I do not consider the laptop fixed since it no longer worked within a matter of days after having it repaired. The vendor did not show me that the battery was charging well when I picked up the laptop, as he noted in his response. In his latest response, the vendor stated that the system board issue "has nothing to do with the work" he performed. If the computer needed a new system board and it was not worth fixing, as he later stated, and this information was communicated to me initially, I would never have spent the money for the repair of the screen and power pack. I will only be satisfied with the vendor's response if it includes refunding me the money I paid them for fixing the laptop.
