You have made a number of accusations in this complaint that are untrue and especially your claim that we tried to weld a plastic fittingWater leaking out of a broken fitting causes plastic or even metal to look like it was meltedI have plenty of examples of this and have seen it hundreds of timesAny one that has seen a leaking fitting or two knows this Our warranty conditions are that we repair any of our work free of chargeYour husband declined our offer to fix it free of charge I had many pleasant and reasonable conversations with your husbandI answered every phone call from him and was very willing to help you guys figure out what was going onI was willing to get a crew to your home within an hour to dig it up free of chargeThe last I heard from your husband he apologized for wasting my time and let me know that he decided to hire somebody that was comfortable providing a trenchless optionI told him if they couldn’t get to your home right away I would still come out for free and fix the pipeHe thanked me and said they would get there soon enough The other service provider sent a disgruntled previous employee of mine to your homeHe told you things that are untrueI believe that a savvy consumer would have seen this as very unprofessional behavior It’s unfortunate that you didn’t call me before filing this complaintI find it unreasonable that you jumped to filing a complaint before calling me to discuss this issueYou have made numerous accusations that are untrue and these accusations are now a matter of public record I rarely have any customer complaints about the services that I provideWhen I have had a customer call with an issue I have always came to an amicable solution with the customerThis is the first time in years of business that a customer has filed a Revdex.com complaint on my business If you had called me to discuss this issue instead of rushing to the Revdex.com we would be in a different position than we are nowThe damage from this complaint is done and I am not moved to go beyond the conditions of my written warranty

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: I continue to find it ironic and irritating that you keep saying we are speaking untruths, when YOU in fact are the one not telling the truth We DID contact you before we made this Revdex.com complaintMy husband DID call you!!! And we sent you an email, with the pictures and inspection report from another reputable company about the shoddy work your employees did on our repairYou chose to ignore our email (And by the way, the inspection report of the faulty repair was NOT done by your former employee---let’s just take him out of this equation, OK? Forget I ever mentioned him, because that is not at all what this is aboutAn unbiased 3rd party company provided the inspection report showing how your repair failed and was done improperly.) And prior to emailing you, my husband did call youHe called to tell you the repair failed, and you proceeded to tell him that the repair could likely NOT be fixed, and that we’d have to replace our line, and that you could NOT do it trenchless, as you had originally told us you couldAnd that you’d have to dig up our yard again before you could really tell us anything, and if it turned out we had to replace the line, we’d get charged for it (you did NOT promise to make it all right free of charge!!!)You keep talking in your Revdex.com responses as if we just declined your generosity/warranty, but you did NOT agree to fix the situation free of chargeYou absolutely did notYou said IF the repair failed, you’d fix the repair free of charge, but in the next breath you said it likely could NOT be repaired and we’d owe you more money So tell me Put yourself in my shoes Would you have had a company back again and pay them even MORE money after they’ve: -Dishonestly recorded their time on an hourly job when first doing a repair (which increased the cost of the repair by $105, by “padding” the billing time)And then only offered a $discount to “make it right” -Said a repair would fix our situation, charged us about $for it, and then the repair fails within a week -Call about the faulty repair, only to be told now we’d have to replace our line, and it will cost us $2,in addition to the almost $we’d already paid that didn’t work -Be told that we’d have to have a trench dug across our whole yard because somehow, mysteriously, you CAN’T do a trenchless replacement of our line anymore, when you originally said you could (and it was the whole reason we chose your company in the first place) I seriously doubt you would trust that company at that point Sir, I respectfully have to tell you, there’s NO WAY I’d ever have ANY company back again after all of that! I’d be an it and a fool to trust a company at that point We had every right to another opinion It was completely reasonable for us to have another company come out to inspect your work They didThey declared your work to have “failed due to over-tightening, which caused the fitting to split”They fixed our line with a trenchless replacement, like we wanted, like you said you couldn’t doThey were honest, hard-working, and charged us reasonably for the work they didHaving them come out to fix your company’s mistake was the best decision we made in this whole process And our water line is working fine now with no issues, due to their great work I have the fitting your company put on our lineThere’s no way it is physically possible for it to have “naturally melted” in one week, in the cold ground, with cold water flowing through itIt is obvious to anyone who looks at it that someone melted it on purpose to try to fix the crack And please stop complaining about the fact that we filed a Revdex.com complaintWe also have every right to do that, even WITHOUT contacting you firstThough we did notify you first If you would just acknowledge that your company did not properly repair our line, and refund us the money for the faulty repair, this situation would be overDone But instead of truly making amends, you keep complaining that we dared to complain about thisThat is not good customer service I have a right to complain when I’m not provided good serviceAnd I also have a right to take you to small claims court which I am about to do, if you do not refund our money You keep referring to “the damage” that’s been done because of this complaint, but sir, if you had done the right thing and refunded our money, then this would be a RESOLVED complaintIt would show that you make things right after a mistake If you truly do care about your customers and making things right, you’d be willing to make amends hereBut you continue to do otherwiseI have to wonder why Sincerely, [redacted]

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: You said you would refund the money if there was any dishonesty, and there was dishonesty, but you won't refund the money??? As I clearly stated in my original complaint, your workers WERE dishonestThey told us they had repaired our line, when in fact, they cracked the fitting as they were replacing it, and then TRIED TO MELT THE PLASTIC to cover up their error!!!! I have the physical evidence of thisYour workers LIED on the work order about what time they started work at our houseYour company was dishonest with usThe bottom line here is that we paid you for a repair that you did NOT doThen when we contacted you about doing a trenchless line replacement, you informed us you COULDN'T do the work we wantedSo after the dishonesty with the billing, and then a repair that failed, and on top of that having you tell us you couldn't fix it the way we wanted/needed.......why would we have you come back??? We had every right to a second opinion and to have another company come to fix your company's shoddy work I must insist that you refund us the full amount of the "repair" (that was completely faulty-----I have the proof!), or we will see you in small claims courtYour response, and decision to NOT refund our money, only continues to prove to me your lack of character Sincerely, [redacted]

I am sorry to hear about the repair failing at your property. I wish that you would have called us to discuss itYour email went into my spam box and the first I heard of it was by your complaint to the Revdex.comNow I have a mark on my previously flawless Revdex.com record
Our business has
been around since 1948. A business cannot operate that many decades using the unethical methods you have described. I apologize if you feel that is what happened. At Vietzke we believe in a high level of character, morals and ethics. In any industry, a company needs to be given a chance to warranty the work they perform. You would have been able to watch us dig and find that the repair failed and we would have fixed it free of charge. We have been in the situation many times where we were fixing failed repairs of other companies, but do not speak animosity toward them, especially in front of customers
There can be many opinions of why repairs fail. It would not be profitable as a company if we would purposely try to make a repair fail when we give a Written Warranty of fixing the repair free of charge. We always suggest replacement of an old system due to the cost effectiveness of replacing versus repairing an old pipe. In our experience with old PVC pipe, it can crumple and cause problems
The information you received from a former Employee is false. Employees that talk bad of other service providers is unprofessional and is discouraged by our company. What you heard is an example of a disgruntled employee who had opportunities to advance but failed to perform.
I have given nothing but the facts in my explanation of what happened and I would hope that you could see our viewpoint in the same manner that we have seen your viewpoint. I have evaluated whether to refund your balance. Would this change your frame of mind about our business practices? Do we as a business go from making $in profit to losing $after paying for employees, machinery and expenses on this job?
Based on how you immediately called in a different company to fix the issue and requested refund from us instead of trying to work together, I don’t feel that a refund will solve any discontent. Despite what you heard, our business practices are ethical and I would refund any money relating to dishonesty. I am sorry that we couldn’t reconcile this situation

We DID contact you before we made this Revdex.com complaint. My husband DID call you!!! And we sent you an email, with the pictures and inspection report from another reputable company about the shoddy work your employees did on our repair. You chose to ignore our email.

(And by the way, the inspection report of the faulty repair was NOT done by your former employee---let’s just take him out of this equation, OK? Forget I ever mentioned him, because that is not at all what this is about. An unbiased 3rd party company provided the inspection report showing how your repair failed and was done improperly.)

And prior to emailing you, my husband did call you. He called to tell you the repair failed, and you proceeded to tell him that the repair could likely NOT be fixed, and that we’d have to replace our line, and that you could NOT do it trenchless, as you had originally told us you could. And that you’d have to dig up our yard again before you could really tell us anything, and if it turned out we had to replace the line, we’d get charged for it (you did NOT promise to make it all right free of charge!!!). You keep talking in your Revdex.com responses as if we just declined your generosity/warranty, but you did NOT agree to fix the situation free of charge. You absolutely did not. You said IF the repair failed, you’d fix the repair free of charge, but in the next breath you said it likely could NOT be repaired and we’d owe you more money.

So tell me… Put yourself in my shoes… Would you have had a company back again and pay them even MORE money after they’ve:

-Dishonestly recorded their time on an hourly job when first doing a repair (which increased the cost of the repair by $105, by “padding” the billing time). And then only offered a $60 discount to “make it right”.

-Said a repair would fix our situation, charged us about $900 for it, and then the repair fails within a week.

-Call about the faulty repair, only to be told now we’d have to replace our line, and it will cost us $2,500 in addition to the almost $900 we’d already paid that didn’t work.

-Be told that we’d have to have a trench dug across our whole yard because somehow, mysteriously, you CAN’T do a trenchless replacement of our line anymore, when you originally said you could (and it was the whole reason we chose your company in the first place).

I seriously doubt you would trust that company at that point.

Sir, I respectfully have to tell you, there’s NO WAY I’d ever have ANY company back again after all of that! I’d be an it and a fool to trust a company at that point.

We had every right to another opinion.

It was completely reasonable for us to have another company come out to inspect your work.

They did. They declared your work to have “failed due to over-tightening, which caused the fitting to split”. They fixed our line with a trenchless replacement, like we wanted, like you said you couldn’t do. They were honest, hard-working, and charged us reasonably for the work they did. Having them come out to fix your company’s mistake was the best decision we made in this whole process.  And our water line is working fine now with no issues, due to their great work.

I have the fitting your company put on our line. There’s no way it is physically possible for it to have “naturally melted” in one week, in the cold ground, with cold water flowing through it. It is obvious to anyone who looks at it that someone melted it on purpose to try to fix the crack.

And please stop complaining about the fact that we filed a Revdex.com complaint. We also have every right to do that, even WITHOUT contacting you first. Though we did notify you first.

If you would just acknowledge that your company did not properly repair our line, and refund us the money for the faulty repair, this situation would be over. Done.

But instead of truly making amends, you keep complaining that we dared to complain about this. That is not good customer service.

I have a right to complain when I’m not provided good service. And I also have a right to take you to small claims court…which I am about to do, if you do not refund our money.

You keep referring to “the damage” that’s been done because of this complaint, but sir, if you had done the right thing and refunded our money, then this would be a RESOLVED complaint. It would show that you make things right after a mistake.

If you truly do care about your customers and making things right, you’d be willing to make amends here. But you continue to do otherwise. I have to wonder why…
Sincerely,[redacted]

You have made a number of accusations in this complaint that are untrue and especially your claim that we tried to weld a plastic fitting. Water leaking out of a broken fitting causes plastic or even metal to look like it was melted. I have plenty of examples of this and have seen it hundreds of times. Any one that has seen a leaking fitting or two knows this.

Our warranty conditions are that we repair any of our work free of charge. Your husband declined our offer to fix it free of charge.

I had many pleasant and reasonable conversations with your husband. I answered every phone call from him and was very willing to help you guys figure out what was going on. I was willing to get a crew to your home within an hour to dig it up free of charge. The last I heard from your husband he apologized for wasting my time and let me know that he decided to hire somebody that was comfortable providing a trenchless option. I told him if they couldn’t get to your home right away I would still come out for free and fix the pipe. He thanked me and said they would get there soon enough.

The other service provider sent a disgruntled previous employee of mine to your home. He told you things that are untrue. I believe that a savvy consumer would have seen this as very unprofessional behavior.

It’s unfortunate that you didn’t call me before filing this complaint. I find it unreasonable that you jumped to filing a complaint before calling me to discuss this issue. You have made numerous accusations that are untrue and these accusations are now a matter of public record.

I rarely have any customer complaints about the services that I provide. When I have had a customer call with an issue I have always came to an amicable solution with the customer. This is the first time in 68 years of business that a customer has filed a Revdex.com complaint on my business.

If you had called me to discuss this issue instead of rushing to the Revdex.com we would be in a different position than we are now. The damage from this complaint is done and I am not moved to go beyond the conditions of my written warranty.
