m not sure where to startI can't believe that I am only the 2nd person to have had such an ordeal with the ownerMy husband and I stopped in to look at cars one evening and we ended up liking the one We had already been preapproved by our credit union for a loan The saleswoman told us we could take the car home if we left a check for the full amount (this way the bank could put the funds in our account and the dealership could cash my check) I wrote them a check and they put a hold on it until our funds were readyThe next day after our credit union had reviewed the paperwork, they told me the dealership was overcharging us by almost $2000! That is a crazy amount for how much the car is worth After going back and forth with my lender and the dealership, the dealership decided to drop the price $ They would still be overcharging us for this vehicle They had tried talking us into paying out of pocket, putting it on a credit card or asking for family assistance The point of my husband and I going through a financial institution was so we didn't have to pay anything out of pocketThe owner's wife and the saleswoman we had the night before had called my lender several times leaving several messages After learning of them essentially harassing my lender and them calling me so many times, we decided the car and the dealership was not a good choiceIf my lender wasn't going to finance us for the car, we were not able to buy it My husband picked me up from work and drove to the dealership to return the car They shouldn't have let us take the car in the first place I am finding out that this wasn't even a legal thing for them to doWhen my husband and I arrived at the dealership only the owner Kevin was there He seemed already on edge when we walked in the door I told him that after everything today, we do not have the financing for the vehicle and we are returning it After I set the sets of keys on the desk, I asked for my check back He at this point had gotten extremely over the edge and stood up waving his finger in my face, screaming profanities at my husband and I He got to the point where he was inches from my face, when I said I am not leaving without my checkHe claimed he had no idea where my check was, so we needed to wait until the next day I told him that we could call the saleswoman form the night before and he started screaming more profanities at us and walked over the door He opened the door screamed more profanities and threatening us to get off of his property This was the point when I called and walked to the sidewalk (off of his property) My husband and I did not feel safe When the first officer arrived, the owner came out waving my check and walked up to the officer and stuck the check down the officer’s vest He started screaming again at us and the officerThe officer asked him several times to go back inside and every time he refused, screaming more and more We decided we should move to the parking lot next door to speak with the officerMy husband and I started telling the officer what happened, when a second officer arrived The second officer was making his way over to the dealership when the owner started screaming at us from his lot The second officer tried to talk him down, but the owner started getting physical We watched as the first officer ran over to help back up and a third officer arrive to help The three officers finally had the owner in cuffs and placed in the back of a squad, when the first officer came back to us for the rest of what happenedThe owner was arrested for disorderly conduct and resisting arrestI am hoping that this review will help to make sure this doesn't happen to anyone else**This review is of my genuine opinion

I purchased my truck on a Thursday evening, was told my credit application was approved, even though I only work summers due to college student status (which I told the owner several times), and I drove the truck home. The following Tuesday afternoon I received a phone call saying that my credit app was declined and I needed to either pay the truck in full, find another lender, or have my parents cosign. We found another lender, my personal bank, and drove up to Stoughton from Roscoe, IL, the Thursday after I received the phone call regarding my credit decline to give the dealer the check from my bank. When my mother and I arrived, the owner's attitude was already negative. While we were there we had to call my bank for some information, when he began to get verbally abusive and rude. As we were trying to explain our end of things to straighten everything out, he continued to cut us off and tell us that we were wrong and he has been doing things his way for years. He hung up on members of my bank and his anger escalated rapidly. I asked him to calm down in a respectful manner because he was being rude to both my mother and my bank. Finally, we asked one final question, received our answer and stood up to walk out when he said to me "Next time, tell your mother not to be so rude." His reasoning for this comment was because she did not say "good morning" when we arrived, which she did.
Side note: We were dealing with the owner of the business throughout the whole experience.
