Viking Trader, LLC Reviews (3)

Dear Revdex.com,
Thank you for the notification of this complaint and for the opportunity to respondViking Trader has been a family owned and operated business since we opened years agoWe take great pride in our success and recognize this is due in part to the overall satisfaction our customers
experience and meeting the high level of service they have come to expect from usWe have always operated our business with a long range view and representing our products and services honestly is essential to this philosophy
A large majority of our business comes from special orders where customers choose options on their furniture that are specific to their wants and needsThis is a complex and detailed process that we are very experienced withCustomers are always given an estimate as to how long their order will take to arrive at our warehouseThis estimate is based on information from the factory producing the item as well as our experience with shipping lead times
In the case of MsWeingrow, she special ordered a Stressless reclining chair on October 16, The estimated lead time for this factory is, and always has been, 12-weeks from the order dateBased on this we would expect to receive her chair approximately the middle of JanuaryWe are still on track to deliver within this time frameMsWeingrow was never told her chair would be available for delivery in December. I regret that there has been a misunderstanding, but that is what this isAs the beginning of December is when we would expect her chair to leave the factory in Norway, it is not inconceivable that she was told this would be a good time to check on the progress of her order
We offered MsWeingrow a couple of options in an attempt to resolve her complaintWe offered to give her full credit towards the purchase of a chair from the factories stocking programSecond we offered her the opportunity to cancel the order with a re-stocking fee of 25%In order to be as efficient as possible, factories will not allow cancelations or changes to be made once orders are in productionWhether MsWeingrow takes delivery of her chair or not, we cannot cancel the order with the factory and will have to take it into stockAlso, while beautiful, the chair MsWeingrow ordered is specific to her desires and would not be easy for us to re-sellUnder these circumstances a restocking fee it is not unreasonable
We regret any inconvenience this situation is causing and remain open to any reasonable resolution
With kind regards,
Haakon ***

The complaint made by Mr*** regarding his trash complaint is very unfortunate. He has failed to provide an accurate account of the situation and has selectively chosen not to mention certain facts regarding his supposed grievance. We at Emerald Management have worked very hard to
maintain good working relationships with our neighboring properties and its disappointing to see a neighboring property manager go out of their way to mislead the public to our company’s character. The following will provide a detailed account of the events that have led up to this pointOn the afternoon of Monday January 29th, 2018, I was provided notice by a tenant of ours located at the property bordering Mr***’s, that a homeless individual had been loitering behind the property and had set up some small makeshift shelter. Unfortunately, our North Boulder community deals with a large population of homeless individuals due to the proximity of the Homeless shelter on Broadway. I notified our maintenance staff of the situation and scheduled them to go to the property the morning of January 30th, to ask the homeless individual to please leave our property and remove their belongings and trash. (Due to the maintenance staff working at different property I was unable to get them to the Boulder property in question on the same day as the complaint.) On the morning of January 30th, Emerald Management’s maintenance staff made contact with the homeless individual in question. After making numerous requests for the homeless individual to leave, he refused and subsequently a member of the Emerald Management maintenance staff was forced to call for the assistance of the Boulder Police Department. The Boulder Police arrived on scene and spoke with the homeless individual. The police department provided the homeless individual minutes to pack up his belongings and clean up the mess he made and leave the property or be subject to arrest. The homeless individual, unfortunately, did a very poor job of cleaning up the mess that was madeOur staff was then forced to clean up the remaining items left behindIn the process of cleaning up the mess left at our property, the Emerald Management maintenance staff pulled their work trucks onto the property of Mr***’s for ease of hauling away trash. Trash was hauled over the fence by Emerald Management and placed directly into the beds of the trucks and hauled off property. It is very important to note the during the cleanup process, an individual not associated with Emerald Management (most likely the homeless individual mentioned previously) was seen on video throwing trash onto Mr***’s property. Emerald Management did not direct or have anything to do with the individual seen on screen placing trash on the property of Mr***. Emerald Management cleaned and hauled away any trash that it had moved over the fenceOn Friday February 2nd, Emerald Management received a piece of mail from Mr*** with a $fine for dumping trash in and around the dumpsters of the property in which Mr*** manages This was the first notice that anyone in our office had received from Mr***. We had not received a phone call or email to discuss the situation and explain the purpose of the cleanup. Immediately after receiving the fine I spoke to our maintenance staff to see if they had made a mistake and had used the dumpsters on Mr***’s property. Our maintenance staff adamantly denied dumping trash in and around the dumpsters and said they only accessed Mr***’s property in order to appropriately remove trash. Soon after this conversation, I reached out to Mr*** and spoke with him on the phone. I was very respectful during our conversation and asked for him to please send me the video evidence that he had mentioned in his mailed fine. I even mentioned to Mr*** that if someone from Emerald Management had made a mistake and dumped trash onto the neighboring property we would gladly pay the $fine and immediately resolve the issue. On the evening of Friday February 2nd, 2018, I was emailed a link by Mr*** with over hours of video of the trash area on his propertyAfter reviewing the video, not once was I able to find a point that an Emerald Management employee placed trash into or around the dumpsters or Mr***’s property. I emailed Mr*** to let him know that I saw nothing that constituted a fine for Emerald Management dumping trash and that from the video evidence it appeared that anything our staff brought over to the property was promptly hauled away with our trucks. Mr*** responded to my email stating that it was difficult to see but a large white sign had been placed on his property. I confirmed the point in the video in which the sign was placed and informed Mr*** that the sign was placed on his property by an unknow individual. I pointed out to him which individuals were Emerald Management employees and that at no time during the video did these employees dump trash on the property. However, as a good neighbor and as a sign of good faith I generously offered to have the sign removed even though we did not place the sign on Mr***’s property. Mr*** refused our offer and instead indicated he would get the Boulder County Sherriff involved as he believed we directed the homeless individual to throw trash onto his property. Mr. *** also stated that he had already mostly taken care of the cleanup. Mr*** had gone from blaming our staff for placing trash on his property to blaming us for directing the homeless individual to place trash on his property. It is important once again to remember that Boulder Police directed the homeless individual to ultimately to leave the property. We did not dictate to the homeless individual where to place his trash and we are not responsible for the actions of the homeless in BoulderOn Friday February 9th, 2018, Emerald Management was contacted by a Deputy from the Boulder County Sherriff’s Office. After briefly speaking with the Deputy and informing him of the situation, he agreed that Emerald Management’s offer to pick up the sign not dumped by them was generous and that it should resolve the issue at hand. I informed the Deputy that I could have my staff down at the property the following Monday morning which he thought was acceptable. Soon after speaking with the Deputy, we at Emerald Management were under the assumption that this issue had been resolved. Unfortunately, I received another email from Mr*** threatening to take this issue to his bosses at Boulder Hosuing to see if they would like to go further into this issueI responded to Mr*** stating that I was a little perplexed that even after the Boulder County Sherriff’s office had agreed with our offer, he still wanted to make this into a larger problem (one that he was creating himself). I asked Mr*** if he still would like to have us visit his property and follow through with what was agreed to by the Sherriff’s office. He ultimately agreed but maintained that he would still take this to his higher ups and see if they would like to pursue the fine despite the agreement made with the Sheriff’s officeAs of February 14th, 2018, Emerald Management has not received any further direct correspondence from Mr*** and has only been made aware of his Revdex.com complaint and other inaccurate and reviews on February 16th, 2018. It appears that Mr***’s campaign to further prosecute this matter was not taken on by his employer and thus Mr*** has resorted to making complaints and accusations about Emerald Management.Further evidence of correspondence can be provided upon request

Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because I never met the person who responded, and therefore he wasn’t aware what I was told by the salespersonI also was NEVER offered an option of choosing something else, except the sales person told me I could pay more money and buy a leather chair or forego my 25%Either way their “bait and switch” would end up costing me more money, which I definitely won’t pay to this businessCoincidentally I had told someone about my experience with this business and was informed a good friend had experienced the same problem! Since I have severe back pain I mentioned this to the salesperson who assured me the chair would be in during December! There is no way I would make this up, and for what reason? At the time I wrote “call in December” on my chair info so I would be reminded to call for a delivery date, which started this messI also found these people to be very rude which was confirmed on yelp
I found that the yelp reviews on Viking Traders had many negative complaints and also many “misunderstandings”
Sincerely,Marjorie ***
