Dear Ms***, We are sorry to hear that your son apparently signed two leases with two separate apartment complexes We have no relationship with *** *** and had no idea that *** may have already signed a contract somewhere else when he applied for a contract at *** *** **
*** * *** on June 21, and then signed a Housing Agreement with us on June 22. We disagree that this is a mistake between us and another apartment complex We would have no way of knowing that *** signed a lease elsewhere, either before or after signing his contract with us We actually inquired of *** ourselves to make sure he was still coming to our Stonegate community when we heard his desired roommate had leased elsewhere That is when we learned that *** also had a lease at *** *** We then advised him of various ways to reduce or eliminate his obligation at our community, which include delegating to a new resident, finding a new referred resident, or waiting to see if we are able to mitigate by filling the entire community for 2016-17. As you noted, *** is a 19-year-old adult who apparently signed two binding contracts We are doing our best to help reduce his obligation, but we are not financially responsible for his decision or errorWe continue to recommend that *** attempt to delegate (sublease) his space at our community, or alternately refer a new resident to us that may sign an agreement in his place. I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.The response says that *** spoke with *** *** which is not correctThey actually exchanged emails with each other*** suggested the sticker fell off maybe when her car was parked on campus due to the fact she lost her car key and left it there several daysThe lost key was a completely separate incidentAgain the complaint is not against the towing company, the complaint is that Southview provided her with a sticker that fell off her window and caused her to be towedMy reason for lodging the complaint is again because I was there on August when she placed the sticker in the back windowMy husband and I are the guarantors of her lease and we pay her towing fee. She understands why she was towed because obviously the towing company did what they were supposed to do but she also blames Southview for the faulty sticker (if you care to read her email) and her current sticker is taped on now which I was also witness to this past weekend.
