[redacted] brought her Nissan in on 7/14/Her complaint was that the vehicle was making a belt noise and that she wanted an oil change When [redacted] arrived, ***: our lead mechanic explained that, in most cases when belts start making noise it could be due to a loose belt or a faulty belt tensioner She then asked [redacted] what he thought it might cost, he responded by saying “estimates are [redacted] ’s department, but if I had to guess, around $200.” [redacted] then got a ride home, and [redacted] began a full diagnostic of the vehicle Among other non-related issues he determined that the belt and belt tensioner would need to be replaced in order to resolve the belt noise [redacted] then gave [redacted] , our service writer this information [redacted] put an official estimate together which included an oil changeOur service writer called the customer who then approved the estimate [redacted] began work and completed it in a timely manner [redacted] then calls [redacted] to inform her that her Nissan is completedDuring this call, [redacted] tells [redacted] that she got a second estimate to replace the belt and belt tensioner from [redacted] She claimed the estimate was about $lower than Village Auto Care’s estimate for the same services [redacted] explained to [redacted] that our labor rate is slightly higher than [redacted] s and that we do not use generic after market parts In an effort to make the customer happy, [redacted] waived the $shop supplies fee [redacted] never presented our service writer with a copy of the second estimate nor did she account for the price of her oil change which was included in her estimate Unfortunately, [redacted] left very unsatisfied with her bill Our service writer made many attempts to explain the cost of her bill and even lowered the priceVillage Auto care makes a tremendous effort to provide a high quality auto repair experience and service at a reasonable priceBut, unfortunately another auto repair shop was able to offer a lower price this time

the estimate from *** does include the oil changeThey marked the parts up by 100%, as you can see. They never tried to negotiate or settle the complaintWhen I left they said hi to *** next time. Two days later my check engine light came onI don't know yet what other damage he did to my car. I would never recommend them

Unfortunately, [redacted] left very unsatisfied with her bill.  Our service writer made many attempts to
explain the cost of her bill and even lowered the price. Village Auto care
makes a tremendous effort to provide a high quality auto repair experience and
service at a reasonable price. But, unfortunately another auto repair shop was
able to offer a lower price this time.
