Bought a car from them and the transmission went. Only had the car for a couple months. Amount $34820.04
Bought a 2013 ***. I had it for a couple of months and the transmission went. I took out insurance and they will cover $2500 of the expense and I expect Village Auto to cover the remainder. When you purchase a car for that amount of money, you expect that the engine and transmission would be serviced. My mechanic said the transmission oil is burnt and that it has been going on for awhile. I have contacted Village Auto and they have not got back to me. This is not my fault and it's not right. I have bought the car and had followed the maintenance schedule that the insurance company has asked! Most transmissions last as long as the car itself as do the engines. A Transmission does not give out in a couple months if the dealer did their proper maintenance to the car. We assume all this is done before we spend the kind of money I did for this to be done. I am in the right here and should not have to walk away from this car and ruin my credit rating for something that is not my fault. I have followed my maintenance schedule.

Desired Outcome

Pay for the remainder balance of a used transmission that the insurance won't cover. They will cover $2500 and the remainder amount is $1800.

We are currently looking into the best possible solution for said problem. Customer purchased warranty and warranty company has approved the claim, however they only cover $2500 of a fix that is close to $4500. We are willing to help in this situation however, customer does need to participate. Customer needs to take ownership of this vehicle to.
The vehicle was mechanically inspected and customer had aprox 5 months of driving before something went wrong.

Village Auto Sales sold me a car with a lien against it without disclosing this information and misrepresented the extended warranty I purchased.
In September 2016, I purchased a 2011 *** from Village Auto Group in Saskatoon. I paid cash for the purchase. I was given a bill of sale and we proceeded to plate and insure the vehicle. Fast forward to Friday, October 25, 2019. I moved to Europe, my daughter to Vancouver and we tried to sell the car (with help from my friend, ***, in Regina). We had arrangements made to sell the car to ***. When she went to the bank, they ran a *** to check for any outstanding liens. To my surprise, there was a lien against the car by ***. I have never heard of this man. A quick google search revealed that he is now deceased. As a result, of course, the bank would not authorize the loan until the lien was removed. Through numerous messages and phone calls (and an 8 hour time difference), the lien was removed. However, the bank would not release the funds until the following week when the official notification of lien removal was obtained. During this week, she backed out of the deal. With further reflection, I am suspicious that a sale previous to this one also fell through as the guy was ready to buy until he ran the VIN. I then sent an email to Village Auto Group via their website (as I am in Europe) inquiring about how they could sell me a car with an existing lien. I never would have purchased it with a lien against it. Now, we lost the sale because the Village Auto Group fraudulently sold me a car with a lien. Mr. from Village Auto responded to my original email. He acknowledged that the error was made on their end but, of course, the gentleman that made the error no longer works there. They also misrepresented the extended warranty that I purchased. I was told that it could be transferred to another owner which was ideal as I planned to sell it when my daughter moved to Vancouver. When I phoned to transfer the warranty, I was told that it was not transferable. Despite them admitting in an email that they indeed sold it to me with a lien, they did not return any other emails that I sent. I tried four additional times to come to some resolution.

Desired Outcome

I would like them to purchase the vehicle for $9000 and the remaining amount of the extended warranty as I cannot transfer this to the next owner.

Village Auto Sales Response • Jan 02, 2020

For the customers resolution, I will not purchase her vehicle for $9000. Vehicles are sold lots of times with liens still intact. Most financial institution don't want to pay to remove a lien they just let it expire.

In this particular case, this was a cash purchase, so with no bank financing, so the lending institution did not check for a lien. Sounds like the *** didn't either and nor did we. Mistakes happen and this particular one was fixed quickly once we were told about it 2 years later. Nothing fraudulent was done on our part, once we learned of the lien we removed it.

As to her possible sale for the vehicle, it was fixed asap so she could have kept it together if it was a real sale.

Part 2, the warranty, it is transferable. I just talked with the warranty company and it is transferable as we had told her. She financed it through the warranty company so the balance just needs to be paid in full and then it is transferable.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
According to the Government of Canada website (https://www.canada.ca/en/financial-consumer-agency/services/loans/financing-car/risks-car-liens.html) a dealership cannot sell a car with a lien on it. It is also noted on the bill of sale (towards the bottom) that there is no lien against the vehicle. Although I did have the lien removed, it took an extensive amount of time (over a month) before I could sell the car. Although I agree that mistakes happen, I believe that this dealership did fraudulently sell me a vehicle with a lien against it. They are correct in that I did not check for liens on the car - I didn't think I had to as I was purchasing from a dealership.

Bought a vehicle that keeps breaking down and no one can or will fix it correctly
I had no choice when buying a vehicle. Handed keys. It's been braking down. Keep bringing it in. They can't or won't fix it. No one will help me and won't return it and refinance me.

Desired Outcome

I want a new SUV one that I can pick. One that won't break down.

Village Auto Sales Response • Oct 24, 2019

purchased a 2015 *** form us. I am aware that her vehicle broke down, was booked into our mechanical shop, we fixed it at our cost and gave her a loaner to drive.

When she had the vehicle back in her possession it broke down again. We had it back in our shop at no cost to her again gave her a loaner to drive while we fixed her vehicle.

Currently we are waiting on IAP to send us new contracts to upgrade here current warranty due to a mistake on our part during her signing contracts for financing.

Due to ***'s current credit situation and her vehicle requests, she purchased a SUV. We don't manufacture the vehicles but we do recondition them and do our best to make them safe and road worthy. With a million moving parts in a vehicle, things break down. And that's why we brought the vehicle in and fixed it at our own dime.

So I was sold this vehicle last September and it had 4 used tires and they were mismatched I recently learned you cannot put miss matched tires on an all wheel drive on top of that they sold me a 4000 dollar tire and rim warrenty and it never came with a tire repair kit and never got one after asking. Now my vehicle is vibrating at highway speeds and because of this tire issue I don't think my warrenty is valid.

Desired Outcome

Repair Please fix my vehicle at no cost and add proper tires

Village Auto Sales Response • Mar 12, 2019

in regards to the response to ***, he purchased the 2017 *** sept 22nd 2018 as a pre-owned used vehicle which did have used tires on the vehicle, I have included our inspection report that was done to the vehicle prior to *** purchasing the vehicle. the tires pasted *** saftey regulations with tread and tread differences for a AWD vehicle. in regard to *** saying we sold him a 4000 tire and rim warranty is an outright lie,( I have included his tire and rim warranty he purchased, the price was 801$ for 5 years of protection).
in regards to the tire repair *** I have *** an email where he said the vehicle did not have on repair *** and I told him I would get him one as the email was dated march the 9th and the product needed to be order in, so again *** is stretching the truth as I have recorded emails.
in regards to the vehicle vibrating at highway speeds again I have recorded documentation asking him if it was anything to do with the tires and I though he had an issue with the tires, his exact quote was "not the tire something more than that" to which I replied " ok I would suggest calling my shop if your from saskatoon XXX-XXX-XXXX on Monday (march 11th) and they can book you in see what the issue is" I spoke with my shop, they have no record of Nathan calling in on Monday to book an appointment so we can diagnose the problem he is having.
*** if he was seriously concerned about his vehicle he would of called in first thing Monday morning march 11th as instructed or brought the vehicle to us which we offered to do so it could get inspected. instead he chose not to do that and file a case with Revdex.com and stretching the truth on all regards.
however with that if *** feels like he still would to bring his vehicle down, we would be more than happy to inspect the issue he has free of charge. he does have an extended warranty that he purchased providing he can supply proper oil change receipts I am sure his warranty would cover any issues he is having with the vehicle he would just need to pay the deductible which is shown on his warranty docs.
I trust this should be satisfactory as there was no misrepresentation made to *** at time of purchase or after the fact and we have always made it clear to him that we are willing to look and help to see what can be done.

I left them my vehicle for 2 days Nov 7 then pick it af Nov 8they say everything is good its all fix breaks and rottors are brand new ***. so I toolt it for drive abd its doing the same thing again. so I drove the vehicle back on them Nov 9 then I let the vehicle stay there for a week then they said they cant see anything wrong on it so they can do something aboit it. they keep on saying me that nothing is wrong about the vehicle 2 of their guys drove it them self they hear the grinding sound

Desired Outcome

i want them to fix it or they need to replace it with another behicle

Village Auto Sales Response • Dec 21, 2018

in regards to Mr ***'s complaint, we replaced the the brakes and rotors on the vehicle free of charge he came and took it home almost a month ago and next called back to inform us that he was having any more issues. I consider the matter closed as it has been over a month and he has not made any more mention too the noise that the vehicle is making.
he told him right from the beginning we would be willing to help it out and we had our shop and his own shop check it out and he was satisfied when he picked up the vehicle with brand new brakes and rotors
