Complaint Information: It has been my fervent wish that this rather disturbing incident had been left behind us all from the moment that two uniformed police offers escorted Ms *** from my establishmentThat the shame and embarrassment brought upon herself by making such a public spectacle of herself was enough to convince her to move onAlas, sadly, I see this is not the caseThe truth of the matter is that the police were called and did respond to an incidentBut, ask yourself this question: Do police respond to random individuals seeking the return of a couple of dollars from a business, or do they respond to raving, ranting, profane, lunatic behavior in a public setting? Obviously, the latter choice is the only reasonable oneAnd that behavior is exactly what Ms *** was displaying in public, in front of other horrified customers, myself, my employees and two unfortunate police offers who had their valuable time wastedMs *** displayed what I can only describe as the closest example of a psychotic break that I have ever witnessedBouncing from crazed screaming, swearing and threatening one moment, to inconsolable sobbing into closed hands while speaking of her deceased mother the nextThe "woman cashier" that Ms *** referenced was cowering in back of the restaurant in outright fear of this womanMs *** is asking for an apology? Perhaps she needs to be reminded that the only reason she spent that evening as a free woman is because of the pity I showed herThe first officer to respond on scene informed me that it was well within my rights to have her arrested on the spot, and that he would like "nothing more than to run her in" if he weren't otherwise so busyThat $for a cup of soup pales in comparison to the bail she would have needed that night if I had pressed chargesPerhaps she needs to be reminded that the officers forced her sit down, explained all of this to her, and followed that with a stern warning that if she were ever to return to the store that she would be arrested on the spot for criminal trespassingPerhaps it is not an apology that I owe, but a debt of gratitude I am due for not having her incarcerated with due causeNone of this even touches on the basic claimsFirst, there was nothing wrong with the soupSecond, the soup was not hersThirdly, the person for whom the soup was purchased spoke with me on the phone, was satisfied with our conversation and thanked me for my timeFourth, the "container on the counter for a local food bank" that Ms *** claims to have contributed to is a figment of her imaginationAnd, last but not least, after screaming that she "was not leaving until she got her (expletive) money back, she attempted to appropriate money from my employees' tip cupI had hoped that I had caught Ms *** on her worst dayThat things had simply spiraled out of control for her on March 9thBecause the person standing in my lobby hurling insults and profane expletives in front of others was someone with serious issues to be dealt withIt had been my hope that after she had been escorted away that day that she had a chance to seek the help that she so apparently needsBut, since she seems to have learned nothing from the embarrassing moments spent in my establishment on that day, I fear she has notI only hope that she ceases to add to her own shame and humiliation at this point, as I have no wish to further enhance either by continuing this back-and-forth
