Village Mover Reviews (%countItem)

We chose Village Mover to move us from The Villages to Arizona. The young men who packed our dishes and artwork and then moved our belongings into our new home were perfect gentlemen and worked hard. If possible, I would have given them a 4.5. Our only complaint is scratches on a TV stand and some scuffing on some other pieces. We had NO breakage. Our recliners were not working when they left but I blame myself for that as I neglected to check them. They were very accommodating in placement of furniture and even helped me put a "skirt" on our guest bed.

I believe they did a very good job on this cross country move. Delivery was on time and I would recommend them to anyone making a long distance move.

Contracted with this company, and upon employee packing items from a cabinet I had placed for safe storage $1200 dollars in a coffee mug w was removed
I hired this company to move, pack and store items from my home for relocation purposes. I trusted these 2 employees enough to provide drinks, and even gave them 2 Carhart winter jackets that were new, and some movie memorabilia as a good gesture.

Later that evening after they left the home, I went for some dinner and upon returning thought it would be a good idea to get the monies put away and when I went to retrieve the monies that were placed in a specific coffee mug it was gone and had been packed away, then I went searching for the item, once found discovered it was missing. I called there office and spoke with the younger employee who denied, then the next morning the older employee called me and also denied taking the monies but could identify the specific mug without me ever describing the item.
I then called to file a police report, and like the officer stated my word against theirs without any proof. But of what I encountered was the older male was the only individual to handle and package the item, Later I called and left a voice message asking if there were any results, and that this is not a dead issue, to please return my call. Went ignored.

Desired Outcome

Return of the monies taken, Ha-Ha right. Its my word against theirs. Filed a police report of the theft and spoke with the business owner. the 2 employees who all denied this ever took place. Then accused another person at my home as a guest of taking the money

Mr. received an estimate on March 12th in the amount of $1200 to be packed. WE went out to his home on MArch 25th and did a complete pack. That same night he called us and said that he was missing money. Coincidently it was $1200, the same price for the packing job which he did not pay for.
The customer informed us that he had given his girlfriend the money to be placed in a cup in the kitchen cabinet which is where we were packing. Per our employee, the cup that the customer described, as it was a unique cup, was not in the cabinet, but was on the counter in the kitchen empty. As a result the customer was refusing to pay for the packing job or the moving services. We received no money for this job which is illegal in the state of Florida.
We offered to return to the customer's home the following day to unpack his belongings which he declined.
The agent selling the customer the new home was Mr. Townsend Bowen at Sunbelt Homes. It is our understanding that the customer did not move to the home he was going to purchase which was verified by the company who was going to sell him the new home.
If we felt as if we had any cause for damage or neglect on our behalf, we would be more than happy to reimburse this customer, however, we are confident that we were in no way negligent.
Thank you for your time in this matter. We sincerely hope this issue can be resolved amicably.
Sincerely

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The representatives of this company, failed to accurately describe the date, the estimate, and the total cost of the move for a total move cost of $4,685..
The total packing was $1295. and the movers never requested payment that evening, of which just the kitchen area and one storage room was partially packed, and would take the payment when the packing of the entire residence was completed.
Upon entering into this agreement on (3-18-2019) estimate date, I felt I had a good repour with these movers giving them $250.in new jackets, movie memorabilia and even helped in the packing. The cup that was stated to be placed on the kitchen, counter was so far into the rear of the cabinet that a individual on a ladder could only reach it behind other glassware. I found it very peculiar that the Individual packing the cup was able to describe it to a T, and was found later wrapped by the employee. This company was hoping that after 6 to 8 weeks upon moving into a new residence that I misplaced or how could I state, it was the movers and then they accused a friend of stealing from me. In the State of Florida that's referred to defamation of character.
And how does the purchase of a new home have anything to do with this issue other then they are pulling ideas from the air to redirect the blame. Surprisingly Mr. Townsend recommended this company whose relative, is employed by this moving company as well as a trusted mover. Boy was I taken.
Yes,they requested to return, and what fool would allow people who just took advantage of you another opportunity? Damage and neglect on this companies behave didn't occur, that's not what the theft of cash is about.
So again later once questioning that same night, the employees of this issue, what comes to mind when you have discovered missing items? DENY.DENY.DENY. My word against there's. A police report has been filed case #***.
My advice, be leery of this company and all like them. Never trust
