Hired Villwell Builders to install 14 windows in my house. Long lag time waiting for windows to be measured and arrive. Most windows installed without insulation, caulk, and with poor workmanship. Two never installed. Glass shards from windows they broke left all over my property. Two windows measured wrong and didn't fit window and wouldn't replace with proper size. One window ordered and paid for slider and given picture window instead without prior notice or refund of difference. Multiple pieces of my home siding, prior trim, window screens (new and old) and shutters were damaged during their install. They no showed once and left early frequently causing me to lose multiple days waiting. They refused to fix their mistakes except in writing promised to send 1 guy for 1 day which never happened as they screened my calls and never returned them. I was told wood rot around a window would be changed out with install and then they tried to tack on 1800 to do around 2 windows so I had to hire another contractor to do the work while they left both windows nailed in with 2 total nails during the storms we had. The screen to both of these was damaged to start with, with one not closing right and the other with a metal torn hole in it.They left messes in my house for at least 3, and only put interior trim on one thus leaving gaps visually and insulation wise.Their response to my complaints was one of apathy and lack of responsibility for their workmanship. I paid other workers to clean up many of the mistakes and omissions they created and am still in the process of resolving these problems. Two windows remain uninstalled despite making clear to their worker Steve that I wanted them put in. I have spent huge amounts already on work they promised to complete. They promised a partial refund of 2998 as that portion purchased thru *** from the 6000 total I paid and it hasn't arrived.
We tried to complete project many times but homeowner travels quite a bit and we were not allowed to go to the house when she wasn't there as her 17 year old son cannot be in the house alone with workers. She was the reason for the time that went by that we couldn't work on the property. We tried to accommodate her schedule many different times. We cannot refund the entire amount as we currently have lost more than the $6000 she paid for the job on the windows and the time we paid our workers to be there. We did issue a refund of $2998 that was the deal offer and sent it by certified mail and the USPS attempted to deliver many times but she is not home to sign for it nor has she responded to the USPS regarding the notice they leave stating there is a certified letter that needs her attention. She claims we are not taking her phone calls but that is not true. I have spoken to her many times, even so recent as of Thursday to find out why she hasn't received the refund check. We were not allowed int he home to install windows and had to do so from the outside. Her complaints were responded to timely and tried to be done to her satisfaction but unfortunately, she was out of town too many times during a four week span and we can't just send a worker one or two days a week. We needed a span of time to install the windows. She was just not reasonable which is why we refunded the money in the first place. We have a very good reputation for the quality of work we do as well as our professionalism and I feel she is just trying to get something for nothing at this point. Please let me know what I can do to make sure this does not be recorded on our Revdex.com standing as we have also always had a very good rating with you.
