We serviced the furnace at Mr***’s residence on March 7th, and he did leave the door open for us to let ourselves in, due to the fact that he could not get the time out of work When we left the house after cleaning the furnace, it was running properly at that timeOne week later he
called in the evening at approximately 8:pm stating he had no heat, and that we broke his furnace He insisted we go out at that timeWe informed him that it was highly unlikely that the failure was due to us cleaning the systemWe also informed him that if the failure was not due to us cleaning the system, then he would be charged for an after-hours service call of $(regular hours service calls ar $99.00)We assured Mr*** that if it was something related to the cleaning, we would stand by our workWe also gave him the option of waiting for a service call the next day during regular hours to avoid the after-hours charge, however, Mr*** insisted that we go out that eveningWhen the technician *** arrived he began troubleshooting the system, he found that there was no power going to the furnace, and told him he should consult an electrician, and the the no heat problem that he was experiencing was not due to the cleaningMr*** did call our office and said he will call an electrician, and was aware that he was responsible for the $charge, unless the electrician tells him that what happened there with the power was directly related to the cleaning, then he would not have to pay the billMy *** acknowledged that we did not cause the problem, and paid the billSo it appears that Mr*** contradicted himself in the letter he wrote to the Revdex.com, because he said nothing was wrong there but loose wires.A day or two later Mr*** called us again, and said the system was running, but now was blowing cold air and asked us to send a technician over to diagnose the issue He requested that we not send ***, because he felt he was critical of his systemThe office secretary assured Mr*** that *** was only doing his jobHe is required to inform customers of any needed repairs or safety issues with a systemWe sent *** our technician with years experience on this service call as Mr*** requested*** found that the fan control was in the manual position, which allows the fan to run continuously*** also installed a new fuse at the thermal switch for Mr*** and did not charge him for this service callSo Mr*** was not charged for the new fuse or for the labor to install itWe are a company of integrity, and knew that he recently had to pay us and an electrician, so we took it upon ourselves to help Mr***, especially when he explained that the electrician charged more during regular hours than we did for an after-hours service callWhile at Mr***’s house *** noticed that his system is not up to code, and suggested that Mr*** install a stairway switch, as well as well as no on/off switches anywhere on the system which is also against codeMr*** called the office and praised *** for his professional service, and was glad he found our company to service his heating needsMr*** scheduled to have the switch installed on 3-21-My *** was again going to leave the door open for *** to do the workMr*** called the office that morning and said he was able to get the time out of work and would be thereWhen *** arrived he parked in Mr***’s driveway, at that time Mr*** told *** that he did not want him to park in the driveway, since he had it recently asphaltedMy *** told *** to park on the streetThe street Mr*** was referring to had a no parking sign on it, and on this particular morning there was a parking ban due to the snowstorm that was occurring at that time*** asked Mr*** if he would pay for the parking ticket or tow if that occurredMr*** then began acting irrational and explodedMr*** began screaming, yelling and told *** to “Get off my *** *** *** *** ***, you treat me like this because you are racist, *** *** *** *** ***”! At that time *** thought it best to get in his van and leave to avoid more interaction with Mr***Mr*** called the office and spoke with the company, and began yelling and swearing about ***, repeating these same very offensive remarksIn his letter to the Revdex.com Mr*** said that I laughed at himThe only time that I laughed is when Mr*** said that *** was a *** *** supporterI laughed because in fact *** is not a *** *** supporterMr*** was very wrong on all accounts, we are not racist, and are fair to all peopleI asked Mr*** to explain how he came to the conclusion about our technician being a racist over a no parking sign, he didn’t answer the question, then threatened to sue meMr*** told us he would find another company for his heating needs and we said our goodbyesMr*** called back later that same day after he cooled off and asked that we go back and do the work we were originally there forHe left a message with our answering service, and there is record to prove any doubtI felt it best not to call Mr*** to avoid any other conflict with him.We have been very fair with Mr*** and went above and beyond for himWe feel that the way he treated our staff members was uncalled for and extremely disrespectfulWe did not deserve to be talked to in the manner that he did, and are offended by his behavior, and no longer will do business with a person such as thisI feel the service call and the fuse we replaced for him at no charge is more than fair and do not feel as though I should have to repay the $as we did not cause the furnace to fail
