There are a few things I would like to say in my defense…
1)

font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-stretch: normal;">               Calls were answered by scheduling to come out as soon as time allowed, at no charge.
2)               I don’t agree with what customer was told in reference to her being at risk of carbon monoxide poisoning. Her and her family was never at risk.
3)               The flimsy straps were the same straps holding the old furnace and in which is how the majority of units in the Valley are hung.
4)               The furnace was not installed incorrectly, the only issue was that I hooked it up to the existing flue pipe with aluminum pipe,  I agree I should have used PVC.
5)               On the furnace being hung to low, her spouse (a friend) saw the area we were working with and agreed with me as to not having sufficient room to have the furnace lifted up any higher without compromising the rafters in the attic.
6)               The drain pan was replaced and it was at the correct pitch.
7)               An Air Plenum was already at the entrance of Unit. There was no need to add/replace it.
We scheduled the customer on Dec. 29, 2015 as to where I would have a day solely for the job (as I wanted to pull that down and start over). I did not want any distractions or feelings of being rushed to get to other calls. The day after we scheduled the appt the customer called to cancel.
Again, I agree with the installation of the PVC but other than that, there was not over $2000 worth of work that needed to be done.
We would like a copy of the customers paid Invoice to Parker & Sons and we will gladly reimburse her. I will call the customer when this communication through Revdex.com is completed to arrange the reimbursement.
Thank you,
Brian V[redacted]

I have and did accept my responsibility on the issue with the flue pipe. I never stated that we replaced/added a plenum to the entrance of the furnace as there was one already in place and there was absolutely no reason to have it replaced.
I do not feel it is fair to reimburse her for items she was sold on as per their sole purpose of creating a larger ticket sale. But, that's how they do business. I personally, am an honest and passionate business owner with the best intentions. I value my customers and my company name. I do not wish to continue to defend myself any longer. I would appreciate a copy of her paid INVOICES (not estimates) to [redacted] to be EMAILED (not faxed) to me so that I have her reimbursed as soon as possible.
I wish them well with their choice of new company to deal with.  Thank you,
Brian

I want to be reimbursed in full for all the gas furnace related repairs. [redacted] completed the repairs, invoice's totaling $2245.10  Please Note: 1 invoice for the gas furnace repair is in paper form ( I can fax over if needed?)

I also want to be reimbursed in full for all drywall damage repairs that were a result of the improper install of the gas furnace. Attached is the [redacted] estimate totaling $620.00.
In response to Brian's comments: 1. Multiple visits resulted in no resolution. The unit continued to leak. 2. The [redacted] manual specifically identifies critical installation requirements addressing gas exhaust as to prevent risks.  3. Brian used flimsy steel straps to hold the [redacted] 95% 2 stage gas furnace which is a much bigger & heavier unit than what is typically used in Arizona. The majority of households in AZ use 80% units which we found out in Dec 2015 from [redacted] & [redacted] 4. If Brian knew he should have used PVC pipe for the flue why did he choose to use galvanized steel/ flex pipe instead? Multiple service calls had no results to correct the issues? 5. Brian states he consulted my husband on how high he could hang the furnace in our attic. We relied on Brian/Vineyard to be the ROC professional and to guide us as to the proper and safe install of this unit. 6. The drain pan was defective, improperly installed and leaking. It had to be replaced by [redacted] on 12-29-15 for additional $420.00 (Please Note: I have this invoice in paper form) 7. No return plenum was installed at the entrance of the gas furnace as Brian states he did. I have pictures documenting original installation. I am requesting full reimbursement for all my repairs totaling $2,865.10  ($2245.10 for the gas furnace repairs/ $620.00 Drywall Repairs caused by water damage) Brian can send me my reimbursement via certified mail to my home address. Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter. Best regards, [redacted]

vineyard heating and cooling. I would say this small family owned co could not be beat. They do very good work at a fair price. Their honesty is impeccable

they

After moving to the valley in 2006, I contracted with another company for four years and each time they came
out I was pressured to change small parts that were going bad, but the cost per part was as much as 1000% mark up over retail. I didn't renew and sought another contractor. In 2012 I was referred to Vineyard Heating & Cooling and have used them since. [redacted] is honest, hard working and down-to-earth. He isn't on the job to rip you off and will give you honest assessments of your system, and good cost estimates for parts and labor. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for an honest, capable and reliable contractor.

Review: In Approx. April 2010 we had a new [redacted] 95% 2 stage Gas Furnace installed in our attic.

The following day we had water damage in several rooms. (Laundry room, Hallway, Bed Rm Closet).

When we would contact Brian/Vineyard Heating about the problem he never knew how to fix the problem, we just got the run around & he blamed [redacted] for the drain pan & leaking issues. Although he did accept some responsibility for the water damage & offered to help pay for the drywall repairs. The leaking furnace issues never got resolved.

I read the [redacted] Service Manual myself & knew right away that our gas furnace was installed incorrectly.

Recently I had 2 Registered contractors come out & they both had the same conclusion: The Unit was installed incorrectly. (Parker & Son's on 12-22-15 Repair Est. cost $2200.00 /George Brazil on 12-23-2015 Est Repair Cost $3,000) /Please Note: These Repair Est. for the gas furnace only. /Does Not include the repair costs for all the water damage.

Gas Furnace Problems:

1. Galvanized steel was used for the flue pipe running from furnace exhaust to roof which caused the condensation to pool up at the exhaust & also created condensation that ran back down the outside of the flu pipe & caused water damage. Important Note: [redacted] Service Manual recommends PVC Pipe for install.

2. The drain pan was not pitched properly so it would not drain. It was also poorly constructed & it leaked.

3. The gas furnace was hung in the attic using flimsy steel straps & was deemed unsafe by 2 contractors.

4. The unit was also hung too low & would not allow the drain pan to work properly.

5. No Air Plenum was installed at entrance of the unit. Galvanized steel pipe was used instead. This also created a leak & water damage.

6. Because Vineyard Heating choose to use galvanized steel for the flue pipe exhaust instead of the PVC pipe that [redacted] recommends they not only caused me to have water damage, they put my family at risk for carbon monoxide poisoning!!Desired Settlement: I would like Vineyard Heating & Cooling to cover all my repair costs for the [redacted] Gas Furnace & any repair costs for the water damage that was caused by improper install.

Please Note: We placed a service call with Brian/Vineyard on 12-13-2015 & he was too busy to come out & help us until 12-29-2015.

I could not wait anymore & hired [redacted] on 12-28-2015 & Paid $2245.10 to have the gas furnace repaired properly.
