lies and dishonor.
21 Dec took my tube amp to him to replace the capacitors and tubes with a $180 deposit text msg receipt,
27 Dec he said [PARTS ORDERED AND WOULD ARRRIVE 5 Jan,
7 Jan asked status, stated it would take longer. (Only thing he said that was true.}
11 Jan he txt msg WRONG PARTS ORDERED.
15 Jan HE SAID IT WOULD HAVE IT DONE BY THE END OF THE WEEK. 20 Jan asked status his reply “just let me do what I have to do, I got parts in fore units ahead of you that I have to get done.
22 Jan status, no reply
26 Jan text” Common courtesy dictates you respond. not very polite.
27 Jan I sent pretty please.
28 Jan I spoke to him on the phone stating he was sick,
1 Feb text wishing him well and asking about the amp. said THAT THE AMP IS ALMOST DONE WITH PROBLEM.
7 Feb asked him if he could fix
9 Feb his reply Really, you ask me that? ok, 58 years of electronic servicing, 4 years USMC, Force Recon, 6 years USAF electronic warfare specialist, dad had a TV shop in Albuquerque, never had anybody ask me : if I can fix it, rank in the Air force, maintained electronics On SR-7, Iin SAC, worked for US DOJ, I think I can fix you're amp, just because I have a small shop doesn't mean I know what I am doing, no shop in Albuquerque has a service bench like mine, IFEEL LIKE I SHOULD UNDO WHAT I HAVE DONE SO FAR AND GIVE IT BACK TO YOU, nobody in Albuquerque would do was you wanted don,
10 Feb. I replied You're telling me the whole time you run your business no one's ever walked in and handed you something and said can you fix it that doesn't make any sense just relax it was not meant as an insult and for the next exchanges I found myself apologizing.
15 Feb. “The middle of March is safe to say, I just got seriously ill, worse than the doc thought, but recovering slowly. If I can't complete it, you will get a full refund even the diagnostic deposit, no money lost.
1 Mar I asked status … no reply.
This prompted me to look at Google reviews and BBB has him not rated with a grade of a F with 6 unfavorable remarks. Google reviews was just as bad where he insulted costumers calling them dumb and liars, (his MO: lie, promise, no communication, insult and avoid). I saved exchanges, missed phone calls, excuse after excuse and later found out lie after lie. (Hope he did not lie about being sick Karma).
330 am 7 March. I get text msg from him: Quote. I haven't responded for a specific medical reason.
7 March. I sent him this. “I have decided to take back my amp in whatever condition it is in, and you can keep the money. Thank you for your time. When can we meet so I may pick it up? Once again, I am sorry for you being sick. Thank you in any event.
8 Mar I called him no reply he sends me a text msg saying he will contact me on the 11th of Mar.
8 Mar a friend, called him and set up a meeting 10 Mar
10 Mar, I showed instead and picked up my amp: he looked healthy, he said he had to paint and fix a broken door... in any event. I found my amp in three boxes, shoved in the corner, HIs lies begun to unravel. No parts were ordered, the only work he did was cut wires and unassembled the circuit board with wires rolled up a tangled mess. not almost done, with make believe problem. he did not even have to honor to say I am sorry or offer a refund. I say let him keep the money he needs it more than me it's a price to pay to never talk or meet him again.
Shame on me I should have read his google reviews and BBB report before I took my beloved amp to his dishonest hands. The people he swindled had horrid things to say All this from a fellow vet. And he even stated his sister was a judge. She must be so proud of him. I am also sure his father who started this business must be proud. I feel shame for him calling himself a vet and bragging about his abilities He disappointed me.as I am a 30-year vet. No one should ever do business with him

Same Story as Others Have
Took a cassette deck in on April 19, 2022, and finally picked it up on July 30, 2022, never was fixed. He said it needed parts, and he ordered them. But every time I asked about them he said they weren't there. I finally got the parts he said it needed and gave them to him myself. They were not the problem and didn't fix it. I finally got tired of the run around and picked it up. I'm "only" out $100 and months of waiting. Luckily I live 5 minutes from his "shop" and was able to keep going over there until he was finally in and I could take my machine back. He never ordered the parts he said he did, and he never did any of the work he said he did other then replacing 4 ICs that did not need to be replaced. What an awful experience.

He tried to fix my guitar amplifier but could not fix it. I took it back 4 times but it was never fixed. He told he would give me my money back but instead blocked my phone number.

I took my JBL home theater sub woofer into Vintage Audio Joe's on Sept. 17, 2019 for repair that Joe/Daivid (still uncertain of real name) said he could handle. I paid $50.00 upfront for him to diagnose. The next day he called to let me know that the issue was a circuit board that he could order and have on hand in a few days. Cost for the board and to install was $120.00 which I paid up front.

Since then I have had no luck getting my property back. I have called and left voicemails, I have text, and I have gone by the shop, knocked on the door to never have him answer, knowing full well he is inside because his blue car is parked right out front. All to no avail. Occasionally I will get a text from him right after I call telling me that he will call me at a particular time or day which he never does. Or that it will be done on a certain day and he will call when it is, which also never happens. I have phone and text records for the last 5 months verifying this. I have even run into and had a conversation with a gentleman outside of Vintage Joe's that is in the same position that I am. Joe has had his money and equipment for a year!

At this point I am left feeling as though I am never going to see my property back, and that not only am I out the original cost of my home JBL sub woofer but also out the $170.00 that I gave him for repair which I could have paid to an honest repair shop or toward the cost of a new unit. I would consider it stolen except I can't just call the police to retrieve my property, I have to file complaints to the appropriate parties and follow protocol that takes time while Vintage Joe's continues to swindle people and steal their property and money.

Unfortunately a month after I took my property in several reviews popped up on Google Reviews all stating the same thing, property was left for repair and has been there for months with no return phone calls. I like to support local business and the "small guy" but as far as I am concerned based on my current ex[experience and that of others I would consider this man a thief.

The guy stole from me too and is a pathogic lier
