Review: I have been to this car wash many times before I felt they did a good job, this particular car wash takes your vehicle and drives it through and cleans the interior of the car. I had a good experience until I made a complaint! My husband and I own a lifted truck and the employee used the handle of the driver door to get down and broke a piece inside the door frame to cause the door not to open from the inside. When I spoke to the owner about the situation he didn't want to admit they did it, even though it was working just fine before they had it. The owner had an aggressive attitude about the situation and also seemed to belittle me as a female. After some back and forth he said to go to the [redacted] dealership and see what they said. When I brought it to the dealership the man we spoke to was a close friend of the owner of vintage car wash and seemed to be covering for him before he even looked at the vehicle he was defensive and said there was no way they did it. I had a bad feeling about the situation and got a second opinion at a different dealership, they explained to me it was difficult to brake a door handle and I was correct that they did something to cause it to brake. When I called the owner and said I got a second opinion and he should pay for it to be fixed he started to raise his voice and use aggressive language and told me I would not get a dime from him. I asked him to lower his voice and he said "good luck proving anything in court". I had not brought up going to court before him and was shocked at how he handled the call, he said he no longer wanted to speak to me and hung up. This has turned me away forever from going back all because the owner doesn't care about his customers!Desired Settlement: Being that it was perfectly fine before we brought it to the business I don't feel I should have to pay any to have it fixed. I would like the business to pay the FULL bill of the repair.

Review: I went to this car wash to have my car washed and I have been here numerous times without any issues in the past. my car was perfectly fine before going to get it washed, it is very new I purchased it 2 months prior to this incident. after my car was washed I noticed scratches all over the front and side of my vehicle that were not there before. I immediately contacted the manager who basically denied that this could have happened at their car wash. my car was left in their care because the keys are handed to them upon arrival and after that I could not see my vehicle for about 45 minutes so I have no idea what could have happened to it in that period of time. the manager was very rude to me and basically told me the owner would call me as soon as possible, I left my information but it has been 4 days already and I have not received any phone call, I have been calling everyday after the damage and they keep telling me the owner is not available. as a customer I feel my situation is not being handled correctly, they have damaged my vehicle and refuse to acknowledge that which makes me feel like they are accusing me of lying especially after I talked to the manager he made it seem that way and I do have a witness to agree with me on this one. I really need your help because I feel they are responsible for the damage on my car due to negligence on their part, I have already contacted my insurance on the issue as well. as a customer I should feel comfortable approaching a business about an issue or problem they caused but I have been very disrespected by them and not sure what to do next.Desired Settlement: I want my car to be repaired and need the business to contact me, the so called owner needs to stop ignoring my phone calls and let me know they will fix the damages they caused on my car.

Review: Vintage Car Wash did a terrible job with my car, and mistreated me horribly when I asked for a refund, and kicked me out, in front of other customers.

My wife took our car to get washed at Vintage Car Wash, Friday May 3rd, 2013. When they gave her back her car, she noticed that the floor mats were in the trunk. When she picked me up 1 hour later, the whole car smelled like wet carpet. They also charged he $20 more than the listed price of $110. I was unable to visit them that same day, so I went the following day. I spoke with a manager named [redacted], who then refered me to the General Manager named [redacted]. [redacted] was VERY rude, cussing and swearing and very argumenative. After failing to get him to understand that the car was horribly washed, I simply asked for a refund. He said he would never do it. He offered to do it again for free. I agreed. He went into the back to get the "paper work" and another older man followed. They both returned saying that there was no way they would wash it again, or give me a refund. And if I didn't leave, they would call the police. I asked why. They said I was lying, and they proceeded to cuss and swear, calling me derrogatory names. I said that I would return with the police and lawyers. They said if I ever came back, they would harm me physically. I left the premesis in fear for my well-being. Desired Settlement: I would like a full and complete refund of $130. If I do not receive said refund, I will enter litigation.

Business' Initial Response

This is in Response to Case # XXXXXXXX: [redacted]

On May 3, 2013 Mr. [redacted]'s wife brought in a 4 door Lexus for a Carpet Shampoo and Hand Wax. This package is on our menu know as the Max Wash. The price listed on the menu is $110.00 and up. Mrs. [redacted] was given a quote of $130.00, which she accepted and proceeded to have the work done. Mrs. [redacted] went inside of the facility, paid, and waited for her car to be ready. When Mrs. [redacted]'s car was ready, she was given the keys and instructed to crack her windows when she got home and remove the mats from the trunk so that they can air dry properly.

On May 4, 2013 Mr. [redacted] returned with the vehicle and asked to speak to a manager. [redacted], a supervisor approached Mr. [redacted] to see what was needed. As [redacted] learned of the complaint he explained to Mr. [redacted] that the Main/General Manager would need to assist him and told him that he would be with him shortly. Mr. [redacted] proceeded inside and sat down in the deli. A few moments later [redacted], the Main/General Manager walked up to Mr. [redacted], introducing himself and holding out his hand to shake Mr. [redacted]'s hand proceeding to ask what he may help him with today. Mr. [redacted] stated he wanted his money refunded. [redacted] asked Mr. [redacted] to show him the issues such as spots or area's missed. Mr. [redacted] replied there are no spots or stains left in the vehicle, just a musty smell. [redacted], explained that the smell was due to the car not being aired out properly as instructed to Mrs. [redacted] the day before. Mr. [redacted] was at this point offered to have the car redone at no extra expense at his choice of date and time, even though the mats were still in the trunk and they or the car was not properly aired as instructed. This alone will allow for the smell. Mr. [redacted] still was requesting his money be returned, but after talking with [redacted] for a few more minutes Mr. [redacted] asked to have the car redone on the following Monday. [redacted] told him to wait a moment as he was going to get one of his cards giving Mr. [redacted] a free redo of the shampoo and again explained that it would be good for whatever day was convenient for Mr. [redacted].

As [redacted] went to his office to get Mr. [redacted]'s card, Mr. [redacted] threw a chair into a table inside of the deli and loudly threatened the life of the General Manager. This was witnessed by the owner whom was sitting in the deli area having lunch with another staff member. At this time the owner intervened as Mr. [redacted] was threating loudly the managers life and making everyone inside, customers and employees feel uncomfortable. The owner approached Mr. [redacted] and asked him to please follow him outside. The owner knocked on the General Manager's door and told the General Manager that Vintage Car Wash would not be redoing any services to Mr. or Mrs. [redacted] because of his threating remarks, and for his display of hostility.

The owner and the General Manager asked Mr. [redacted] a number of times to leave the premises. Mr. [redacted] continued with his remarks and hostility. Mr. [redacted] was instructed to leave the premises or the police will be called due to Mr. [redacted]'s actions. As this was being told to Mr. [redacted], the owner had his phone in hand and stated one last time to leave the premises and never return onto the property as he was no longer allowed as a customer.

Mr. [redacted] stormed off to his car got into the vehicle, lit up the tires almost hitting a curb and flowerbed, slammed on his brakes proceeding to pull out onto Standiford Avenue almost hitting a Ford F150 pickup.

To finalize this response, NO EMPLOYEE, MANAGER, GENERAL MANAGER, or OWNERS cussed or threatened harm to Mr. [redacted].

Consumer's Final Response

This complaint has been resolved. I went back to the Vintage Car Wash and spoke with a manager. The manager apologized and issued me a full refund, along with some chemicals to remove the smell from my car.

Review: Made a purchase of a bracelet at a car wash/boutique store & didn't know it was missing a [redacted]. Tried to return they would not accept it back.

On Thursday Oct. 31st I stopped to get my car washed at Vintage Car Wash in Modesto, CA. While waiting for my car, I browsed inside their coffee shop/boutique store. I purchased with my Visa at 10:55 a.m. a coil wire bracelet w/ micro pave stones the total purchase cost was $24.75. The employee [redacted]asked if I would like to wear it or put in a bag. I said I would like to put it on, so she cut the tag and told me that if something was to go wrong, I could bring it back within 72 hours. So, I picked up my car & drove back to Manteca, CA a 15 mile drive from Modesto didn't stop anywhere went straight home. When I got home, I took off the bracelet to examine it more closely. To my surprise I notice that some of the stones were loose & I found a missing stone. I was disappointed, so I didn't want to wear the bracelet anymore for fear of loosing more stones, so I put away. Luckily I had an appointment in Modesto Friday morning Nov. 1st (it's only been 24 hrs. since the purchase) so that I could take it back. Went back to the car wash & the same employee [redacted] was working & I told her that when I got home I notice the loose stones & the missing stone. She then told me could not do anything because the owner was not there that day. She asked for my name & a phone # that the owner would be back on Saturday Nov.2nd around 10:00 a.m. I got my call around 11:00 a.m. from [redacted] telling me right off that the owner could not receive damaged goods. I told her that I didn't know that the bracelet was damaged until I got home, like I had damaged it myself. I asked if she would exchange it for another & she said sorry, No. So I told her the merchandise in that store is overly priced. There is nothing written on the receipt showing no refunds or exchanges nor did I see it posted anywhere in the store. Since I was denied an exchange, I now want a REFUND.Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund of the purchase price of the bracelet that I charged to my Visa of $24.75. I thought I was purchasing undamaged merchandise in that store. Since they wouldn't give an exchange the first time, I will not except an exchange now.

Review: Damage was found on vehicle after service was rendered and when it was brought to the Managers attention little effort was used to resolve the issue. I was asked to leave my phone number, while I made a call for some advice on dealing with the issue at hand I was threatened to move my vehicle from where employees parked it or it was going to be towed. I was not contacted to deal with damage.Desired Settlement: Full refund of service as well cost of damages occurred.
