Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 12, 2015/06/03) */ Contact Name and Title: [redacted] , SrVP Contact Phone: XXX-XXX-XXXX Contact Email: [redacted] @vintagedesigninc.com All of our homebuyers, choose their flooring from actual samples in our showroomThese samples allow the homebuyers to touch, feel and read about the products they are buying in addition to discussing the products with our designersThe manufacturer supplied samples list specific information that highlights the construction and benefits of the products while also being able to clearly see the construction from the top, bottom and sidesThe homebuyer chose and signed for the product he receivedHe has a real hardwood floor and not a laminate floor as he suggests Initial Consumer Rebuttal / [redacted] (3000, 14, 2015/06/03) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I do not accept any of the canned reply, its little more than drivel, and does nearly explain what was delivered The receipt describes the floor as hardwood planksMerriam Websters: Plank: a long thick board at least 2-inches thickWhat I discovered only a few short weeks ago when a friend saw the damage, is that they are 1/32" veneer of the wood I selectedThat is NOT a $10,++ hardwood floorIndeed, in their care guide, they refer to screening (sanding) the floors and refinishingIf I were to sand / refinish what I have, there would be nothing left to the wood-grainIt would be down to pressed wood or whatever the substrate The Vintage Design Representative who inspected and photographed the floors, stated that these were mainly used in mobile homes/trailersThe estimated cost of this flooring is $/ sq foot installedMy home is custom, in a high-end, gated communityThe $28,flooring they installed, like many things looks good, but don't scratch the surface Lennar, advised me to contact Vintage Design and to keep them up to date with my progressWhen Lennar learns of the laissez faire attitude and lack of concern they won't be pleasedLennar's corporate culture is all about, and proud of their Customer Care Division, in making each of their homeowners is happyHow very short sighted, for the gentelmen to risk a major contract with Lennar, the builderI spent $28,on flooring or in this case sub flooring, in his storeI deserve to be made whole for this inferior product whose sales team sold a bill of goods calling the product hardwood floors or, in this case "Sebastion Plank White Oak floors"I will pursue my claim with Lennar and Vintage Design jointly until made 'whole.' Mr [redacted] has exhibited a total lack of respect to me and the Revdex.com in not responding to either in the prescribed timeConstantly ignoring the Revdex.com and no condolences for his actionThis is no way to run a business Final Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 35, 2015/07/15) */ An independent third-party inspector evaluated your hardwood flooring on July 8th, We have a copy of the report that indicates he found no manufacturing or installation discrepancies or violation of expressed warrantiesThe results of his inspection indicates that topical intrusion of excessive moisture is the cause of the warping of the core with subsequent bubbles and ridgesAlthough this report is consistent with our own findings, we realize this information is disappointing to you and we would like to offer you a resolutionIf you would like to pursue replacing your hardwood flooring, we can provide the materials and labor at discounted builder pricing and the removal at no chargePlease let us know if you wish to work with us to replace your floor Final Consumer Response / [redacted] (3000, 37, 2015/07/16) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Good Day [redacted] Thank you for your forwarding the reply from Vintage DesignYes I was here and greeted the third party floor inspector, [redacted] But, while I was happy to have him inspect the floors, his report only further supports my claim in that they are cheap imitation of the $28,paid and the misrepresentation of the product/ bill of goods sold I was told that I was to have HARD WOOD FLOORS-NOT wood laminateHad they been hard wood floors, they would not have 'warped to the core' and 'bubbled the ridges.' I was following the care instructions provided by Vintage upon installation, and only used the products they left me for caring of the floorsThese care instructions were followed to the dot in the 'i' and the cross of the 't'.(My claim is flooring not RUFFLES POTATO CHIPS!) So the result of the inspection is not at all the issue at handRather, the insubordinate, inferior product installedI shall be sure to pass along through product reviews and consumer sites to every consumer the Buyer Beware skull and cross-boneThe California State Contractors Board, recommended by your office, is conducting an investigation but as yet, awaiting their final result, which, to say the least, is sure to be of interestIt now begs to contact the Department of Consumer Affairs/Consumer Protection Agency I appreciate the tenacity of your office in ultimately wrangling some reply from despondent Vintage Design. You have accomplished the IMPOSSIBLEFor that, and your ongoing intercedence , I am ever gratefulYou fully comprehend and acknowledge the point of my case and appreciate your sincere empathy It is a shame we live in a society of Corporations continually taking advantage of unsuspecting consumers who are little more than victimsI believe we are referred to as 'sheeple'But this sheeple is not, nor will remain quietly accepting of the lies, deceptions and propaganda proffered

consumer states a section of the carpet in the master bedroom was laid incorrectly, making it look like one side is brown and the other side is tanThis is actually a manufacturing issue called a sidematch, which was explained to the consumerThe carpet was installed correctly. When scheduling replacement of the upstairs carpet, it was explained to the homeowner that our installers could shift furniture from room to room, but loose articles and electronics would need to be moved beforehandUpon arrival there was little to no preparations made by the consumerOur installers moved personal belongings anyway so we would not have to reschedule the work.Once the replacement was completed our installers asked the consumer to walk the joband let them know if it was completed to their satisfactionThe consumer walked the joband signed our installer’s paperwork, indicating the job was completed to the consumer’s satisfaction. The consumer informed us of their complaints via email the following day, and also notified us they had already filed a complaint with the Revdex.comThe consumer also requested reimbursement for a cleaning company to clean the upstairs of their homeWe called the consumer immediately after reading their email and offered to have someone meet at their home within minutesWe were denied the opportunity to view the consumer’s complaints and informed the consumer we could not offer any resolution without first viewing their concerns.Thank you,*** *** Director of Operations, Southern CaliforniaMaking a House Your Home | www.vintagedesigninc.com

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. Some of the information *** from Vintage provided as his response was true, while the majority of it was missing key details or just false I will respond to each thing he said. The term "sidematch" was never used until after they replaced the carpet, but that doesn't matter, no matter how you look at it, if brand new carpet looks like different colors, it's wrong It doesn't matter if he thinks it's a "sidematch" and I said it was installed incorrectlyIt's still not right.Vintage did at some point tell us that we had to unplug electronics and I did forget to unplug them However, when they arrived they asked if the electronics were unplugged and I said I forgot and immediately went and unplugged themEverything was ready for them when they were ready to start.I was told that they were going to be moving personal belongings and that they would move them back, like we wouldnt even notice they were there That did not happen, things were not put back properly. The job was never walked by anyone in my household prior to signing documents My wife (***) was handed a piece of paper to sign off that they were done, she signed it, they left. They left the house a mess, nails, staples, carpet scrap, and sawdust all over the banisters, along with a ton of stuff misplaced.Vintage did call me during my work hours and asked if I could meet them at my house right then...I was at work so not drop everything I'm doing at work and go to my house to meet them.We also had Thanksgiving that week and had family coming over My request to have the upstairs cleaned was VERY fair and they denied it We ended up cleaning everything ourselves because we were on a time crunch with Thanksgiving. The emails exchanged were between myself and *** were not pleasant Never was *** ever "on my side." The customer was never right He tried to spin every conversation into trying to guilt trip me into looking like a greedy consumer that was just trying to get money out of them.At this point I am not expecting any money from them, I just want other consumers out there to know how bad this business is to steer clear
Regards,

Review: My wife and I just purchased a new house in Carlsbad, build by [redacted] who partnered with Vintage Design for flooring. Move in day we noticed that the carpet was laid incorrectly in our master bedroom, a very large section was laid the wrong direction, which makes it look like one side is brown and the other side is tan...not pretty. We informed them of this mistake and they said the only option was to replace the ENTIRE upstairs carpet. If they only replaced the bedroom there's a chance the roll they had that day would be slightly different than the rolls used the first time, so they wanted it all to match. I like the idea of it matching correctly, but you have to understand that when you move you just spent HOURS arranging furniture and getting things just right and now they're going to need to move it all. I asked if we could just take a refund check and live with the defect for the time being, they said no and they would put everything back like it was.

Yesterday they finished the entire upstairs in one day, but left a whirlwind of mess behind. They left a bag of nails on the window sill, staples on the ground, bits of carpet trash all over, and moved our stuff all over the place. Didn't put the ping pong table back, didn't put speakers back where they were, moved everything in our closets around and didn't put them back, moved half of our daughters stuffed animals into another room and left them there, and for some creepy reason they went into our master closet and left stuff in there too. They even moved a pair of my jeans and some tennis sweat bands from the floor in our master closet to the loft...very weird stuff. I don't care if you're pressed for time. Do the job right.Desired Settlement: I'd like to hire a cleaning company to thoroughly clean the carpet and for Vintage to reimburse us for the bill.
