Hello, Again we apologize if the client feels as though she didn’t get what she wanted. We want to make sure our clients enjoy their evening at our facility, and this is our first priority. This complaint was first...

brought to our attention on March 26th. After being made aware of a complaint about this event we opened an internal complaint review and spoke with the kitchen manager, event manager and event coordinator to get a better idea of what happened. Below is the result of our internal review (and related commentary regarding this new version of the complaint). The crux of the issue originally brought into our office was that (1) the bride felt she had ordered a fruit appetizer for her guests and that we did not provide that to them and (2) she had paid for security guards that did not show up. As to the other parts of the complaint (namely the poor service and cold food) this has not been brought up in the past and appears to conflict with statements taken from our managers during the internal review. Upon completing the internal review it was determined that (1) she was correct as to the security guards not being onsite; as such, she was refunded that portion and we have taken corrective measures to ensure that doesn’t happen again. (2) As to the fruit platter/appetizer, there was never an order (or payment) for this item in any of our records. There were notes in the computer that she was interested in having a fruit platter, but never an order or a payment for it. That said, the evening of the evening our staff provided an antipasto platter for her guests after being informed that the bride believed that she had ordered it [note that we could not provide a fruit platter because since one had not been ordered we did not have the required items from our food supplier]. The party was never charged (nor asked to pay) for the antipasto platter, which is significantly more expensive than the fruit platter. We apologize if the bride believes that she had ordered or paid for this but all of our information shows this wasn’t the case. If she is willing to provide proof of payment for this we will gladly refund this to her. This matter was closed on March 27th in our files and a refund check was mailed out two weeks later in our normal payables cycle. The emails from the bride acknowledge that she was getting a refund and there was never discussion of this not being acceptable to her. We feel bad that she feels mistreated but we have tried to make this situation right. Again, if she can provide proof of payment we will immediately refund her. Sincerely, [redacted] General Manager

Review: I booked my March 2014 wedding in April of 2013 with this venue. This should have been the most joyful day of my life and if I had chosen a different venue, it probably would have been. They sold my husband and I on an experience that we didn't get. We were given a fruit display as a wedding gift and Vintage Gardens didn't even take notes that we had ordered this. There were no security gaurds which I was required to pay for months in advance. There were a variety of miscommunication problems between the venue personnel which caused many problems for us on the day of our wedding. The service was less than adequate, the food was served cold, the person we had worked with for almost a year was not there to ensure we had everything we were promised and the presentation of the food in the venue was awful. I was very disappointed with Vintage Gardens. I feel like they advertise a quality product but come no where near making it actually happen. After contacting them 4 times after the event, I was finally emailed back but that business did nothing but make excuses for themselves and never once asked what they could do to make things right with me. The woman did apologize but this did not outshine the excuses. The business did refund me $250 for the security gaurds that did not show up, but I feel like I am owed so much more for the pain caused by their business on my wedding day.Desired Settlement: I am looking for a refund of the service charge in the amount of $463.21. The service was disappointing and the servers were rude. This refund would at least make me feel like Vintage Gardens hadn't stolen from me. The managers and wedding coordinators should be required to take training on communication and professionalism as well.
