Review: I sent Vintage Hifi of Pittsburgh the amplifier plate for a Sunfire True Signature subwoofer over a year ago and I have never heard an update I have called several times in the past year to check status and been told that there were many of them in for repair and are having trouble with the "bias" and were trying to contact [redacted] for assistance. This was curious to me, especially since the problem with my unit was a short in the power supply as it kept tripping a breaker when plugged in.When I have tried to call in recent weeks during published work hours, no one answered and I received an answering message saying that the "voice mailbox is full and to call back later."I no confidence in this company's ability or capacity to repair my unit have request it be returned to me at Vintage Hifi of Pittsburgh's expense as soon as possible. The above was documented in an email sent June 23, 2014 with no response from Vintage Hifi of Pittsburgh.Desired Settlement: Would ideally like my amplifier unit repaired and returned as soon as possible and if not possible, returned in unrepaired condition at their expense.

Review: On 10/24/2013 I sent two Craver pre amps (CT-27V & CT-23) to Vintage HiFi for repairs. When I spoke with them on the phone, I explained that I was looking for someone that could repair my equipment within 1-1 1/2 months for an upcoming event. I was told "no problem".After repeated calls, I finally contacted them early February 2014. I was told my equipment would be repaired by the end of the month.Throughout the spring, summer, fall months of 2014, I attempted to make contact consistency, leaving voice mails (whenever mailbox wasn't full), and via email!! I've not received any contact back regardless of my efforts to contact them!!!!!Desired Settlement: At this point I either want my equipment repaired promptly and correctly, or have my equipment returned to me with a refund for my shipping cost to send equipment to them!I have receipts for time frame and cost of original shipping if needed.

Review: I contacted Vintage HiFi of Pittsburgh as a consignment to sale 3 B&W VM-1 speakers with 2 stands and 1 Denon DVM-1800 DVD player. They agreed to sale on Ebay and I delivered equipment to their store at [redacted] on December 12 2012. They have since relocated to 4024 Mt Royal Boulevard. I was given a receipt for equipment and a consignment fee schedule for when products sold. This was handled by [redacted]. In the following 12 months I contacted them several times for updates. I had mentioned that I did not see my equipment on ebay and at one time was told that this was not a good time to sell. I called on Oct 7, 2014 for an update, was told it hadn't sold. I said I would stop by the store to pick up equipment. I drove to their new location in early October 11, 2014 and could not locate it. I then called several more times in October, and either left message or the mailbox was full and I could not leave message. I also left a message on their website. No response.I was able to contact [redacted] on his cell phone and he said he would pass the message onto [redacted] to call me. To date there has been no further communication from Vintage. It has now been 2 years.Desired Settlement: I would like my three B&W speakers, 2 speaker stands and 1 Denon DVM-1800 DVD player returned to me. If they did sell the equipment I would like to see receipts and receive my compensation per the agreed upon consignment fee schedule.

Review: In October, 2013, we sent one of our 1986 Denon brand POA 6600 Monophonic Amplifiers to Vintage HiFi of Pittsburgh for service. Looking online, we found the companys website impressive and thought such a company would have the knowhow and access to parts sufficient to return the unit to its original specifications. Talking with [redacted] at the company by phone, we were told the matter was a relatively simple one; i.e., that repairs would involve the replacement of aged capacitors, transistors, and perhaps a few additional components at a total cost not to exceed $200.00. Moving forward, we sent this amplifier to the company by Federal Express (note: this was the second amp sent to the company for service; the first was returned in working order after 6 months). In December, 2013, we inquired by phone as to the status of repairs. At this time, [redacted] explained he had not begun the job. In March, we talked to [redacted] once again by phone and he explained that the same was the case. In April, we sent an email inquiring as to the status of our amp and received a reply from [redacted] saying first that he yet to begin the job and that he was moving his company to a new location. Furthermore, [redacted] explained that our second amp was in much worse condition than the first. He concluded by saying that he would send photos by email along with explanation as to the nature of the problems and he maintained that we should be patient, that parts were available and that he could perform the work necessary. Two weeks went by and we had not received any correspondence. In May, multiple attempts to reach the company, by phone and email, were ignored. The same was the case through the month of June. This brings us to July 1, 2014, a full 10 months since we sent our amplifier to Vintage Hifi of Pittsburgh for service. We feel that the company has taken our time for granted and disregarded our rights to our property as a customer engaged with the company.Desired Settlement: We would, of course, like our amplifier returned to us, if not repaired, then at least in the condition in which it was received.

Review: I sent them a broken piece of Audio equipment for repair in February of 2013. They have not been able to repair my equipment and have not sent me it back or offered to refund my payment I made to them for the repairs. They have since stopped responding to email and telephone attempts to contact them about a resolution.Desired Settlement: I would like to be reimburse for the fee's they charged and to get my equipment returned in the condition it was sent to them so that I may attempt to find another repair shop that can perform the repairs that they promised.

Review: I sent my Sunfire sub woofer in for repair prepaid on order number 285It has been nearly one year since sending it in. I have emailed and called several times to determine the status of the repair and return shipping. about 6 months ago I did receive email responses twice first, that it was scheduled for repair then, that it was in testing. The speaker never shipped. Several follow up emails have gone un-returned, several voice mail and text messages have gone un-returned.I feel I have been patient and fair but a year?Advert below:http://www.vintagehifipgh.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1... / SUNFIRE REPAIRProduct 11/11 Previous Listing Next Sunfire True Sub Repair Servicelarger imageSunfire True Sub Repair Service$225.00This service is for all Sunfire Subwoofer True, True II, and True IV plate amplifiers.
