Were very helpful and knowledgeable at fixing my computer. Helped to educate me on what was wrong and offered products and free sites to keep my computer running.

Brought my computer in and had malware removed. Same day. They bent over backwards to get me done. Amazing service and will definately bring anyrhing to them for repair!!! Great experience!

Review: Vinton Computer is contracted with Magic City to come on site and work on any known computer issues when called. Vinton Computer is called on a regular basis . Vinton Computer was contacted to come out and look at building a new computer for the general manager. During their visit Vinton Computer assured that all files would be backed up in case of an error while transferring the data from the old computer to the new computer. Keep in mind that the old computer operated perfectly so not only should there be a back up of data from Vinton Computer, the old computer should also serve as a back up. Upon receiving the new computer and getting it operational approximately two weeks later the computer crashed. I contacted Vinton Computer to come out and repair it. [redacted] took the new crashed computer with him and the old (functioning) computer with him. I received a phone call two weeks later that he could not recover any of my data from either computer. After many attempted phone calls and text [redacted] finally said he screwed up and doesn't have my data and he would bring my old hard drive to me because he could not get it to function either. I sent the old hard drive off to a recovery company that can recover data and today I received a phone call that this wasn't my hard drive that it had someone's data on it. When I approached [redacted] today he said sorry he just didn't have any of my data and he had no idea where my hard drive was. Not only is my confidential data missing I have nothing.Desired Settlement: I am asking for [redacted] to refund the cost of my new computer (that failed) $675.00 and I am also asking that he pay for the $2,000.00 that data recovery is charging for recovering the data that doesn't belong to me. This is poor business and with such confidential files I would not recommend anyone else to trust him to do business with him. I would also recommend that his business be investigated due to the nature he is taking hard drives from businesses and then cannot return them with a businesses data.

June 18, 2013 [redacted] Enclosed is a cashier's check for $2,675 for your computer and services to recover data per your complaint to the Revdex.com. I am deeply sorry that I was unable to recover data from your new PC. Looking back I regret that more caution and time was not focused to your personal and business data. The first mistake was not properly labeling your old drive and working on your PC and Mr. [redacted]'s PC simultaneously. The second mistake was not enrolling your PC into an online backup service such as Carbonite. The third mistake was assuming that your data was fully recoverable from your new PC. I have never had a drive where the data was not recoverable at some level. The drive still holds your data and hopefully you will be able to have some company, possibly the manufacturer, recover the data. My plan was to have the data restored, transferred back to the replacement PC and everything would be back to normal. Unfortunately I never once considered this would be a possibility. From this mistake I have now implemented new backup procedures that includes Carbonite online backup. Vinton Computer is now a Carbonite distributor and reseller. We are currently training on procedures to prevent data loss. Regarding your old computer and drive: Previous computers that were taken from one user and upgraded or replaced were often recycled to another employee. This process was routine at [redacted] and one such example was using Mr. [redacted]'s old PC for a replacement for one of the financing computers. This was done to save money and quickly establish a working PC for another employee. While working on your PC and Mr. [redacted]'s PC I was also working on two other PCs in [redacted] sales. It is possible that your drive was inadvertently recycled into another PC at [redacted]. I honestly do not know or remember each of my steps that day while working on your PC. I truly wish that I did. My assumption was that your drive remained with your old computer. Initially I assumed your old PC would be reprogrammed and given to another employee. Once your data was initially transferred to the new PC and verified I assumed that all was well. This was a major mistake in assuming that the procedures used with other staff members applied to your computer. During the past year at [redacted] I was able to fix many issues with various computers in the following departments: [redacted]. During the past year I was called upon to learn, configure and fix software packages in various departments. I was called upon to assist the migration of computers and devices during the move to the renovated building. I was also called upon to fix ADP issues on at least two separate Saturdays when an FNI computer was down. There were many other times when a problem was given to me and to the best of my knowledge each and every issue was solved. I was able to create many success stories during my short time at [redacted] but unfortunately it only takes one mistake to undo lots of hard work. I was very impressed with the customer service they provide at Vinton Computer! They truly care about making sure the customer is happy and that is something that is hard to find these days! I highly recommend them!

These are about the best and nicest people I have ever done business with

I have used Vinton Computer periodically over the past two years and have found them to be knowledgeable, dedicated, and professional. My initial encounter was when a laptop crashed during tax season and they worked diligently to salvage what they could from the hard drive with same day service. Twice we've been to them for repairs of various computers with success. This latter time the repair exceeded the cost of the laptop so we opted to buy one from Vinton Computer instead. They installed everything from the previous laptop and the transition was wonderful - to my surprise that included software I'd uploaded just days before and the printer. Very smooth transition. They've also been attentive with concerns since the purchase. They are personable and appear to be honest. Such a rare commodity these days. Thank you Vinton Computer!
