Thank you for the opportunity to respond to the consumers complaint, The consumer did not contact us regarding their concerns
facts in responseAll vehicle go through a point safety inspection, the tires had noticeable wear however met safety standards and customer was aware of the condition before deliveryvehicle was $and priced according to condition for the advertised $The Car Fax value of $5680.00,(exhibit A)
We did more than just have it inspected, we spent over $to get vehicle ready for sale (exhibit B) work is guaranteed so again if we were aware, some concerns could be addressedThe glove box handled needed repair, customer was aware of this, the only repair promised was to "fix star in window" as noted on the "we owe form." The sales Rep may of not reached the customer to schedule the repair, and still the dealership will be happy to provide this serviceAs for the owners manual we only are able to provide what we have from the previous owners, especially on a year old used car, as is the standard at every dealershipas standard operating procedure customer was given the option to have the vehicle inspected along with a "contract cancellation option, and a federal "buyers Guide" that list defects that may occurThe Dealership acted in good faith, and wish to improve communication with concerned

I do believe that they should provide a owners manual for every vehicle that they sellThey had no problem telling me I could go online and purchase oneI did purchase a repair manual for The CarFax that they provoded me with clearly states that for the milage and age of car that the purchase price was still inflated to the tune of 680.00.I had asked for receipts from the repair work and was told the salesman was out of the office they took my name and number and no one called me backI went in the next day and the sales spoke to me briefly statting he was tied up with a conference call to the DMV but he would get what I requested together and give me a call when he had itI did not recieve a call so I went up to the dealer once again for the requested informationHe was surprised and we had to wait while he found the information and copied itAfter all this days prior to the day warrenty I get a call that they want to make arrangements to fix the windowHow ConvientAsof this date I have invested into this vehicleI believe that I should have a owners manual. The car was never detailed and it was stated that it would beThe Kelly Blue Book and Car Fax reports but stated that the price was higher then what other customers paid for the same VehicleI have a glove box that does not workAnd an engine light that will not go off despite the repairs that the dealer claimed was madeI will be spreading the word about this dealership every chance that I getSenior Citizens and people with limited income should not be taken advantage of by fast takling salemenI believe the owner of the company said that this was his daughters carIf it was not safe enough for his daughter to drive why would be sell itAs for a point inspection If that did occur how come none of the little repairs were not taken car ofThank-you on your behalf for contacting the dealerI will be calling them today to see if my windsheild repair will be taken care of

I have an addendum to the response of the dealerToday I went to the grocery store and got back into my vehicleIt did not startThe battery was deadAfter walking home I contacted a local VW dealership concerning this problemHe stated since VIP Auto put a refurbished battery in it on March 6th for a cost of we got the 300-miles that they probably guarenteed it forOnce again just another example of a Dealership that is trying to scam Seniors and low income individuals

I bought a 2007 MINI Cooper from VIP in December. Here we are 6 months later and my head gasket is blown due to a negligent repair on the side of VIP Autos. So I did the responsible thing and contacted them by email and phone. They have not responded to my request that they fix my vehicle. They have not responded to me at all! I was told that this car was basically new when I bought it because they had supposedly sent it to MINI to have parts replaced and they did a "47 point inspection" that included an oil change. None of that was done. They hide behind their Carfax and they talk a lot of great stuff, but DON'T BUY A CAR FROM THEM!!! They will rip you off and then ignore you. Horrible business practice!!!!

VIP Autos does not or ever desire to sell a "lemon" or known to be problem vehicle to any customer. We are a 30+year local family...

that only seeks to help others. VIP Autos contracts with outside Repair facility to do its safety check and smog. VIP Autos also has a light duty mechanic in house that is able to do repairs as needed. With all that said no dealership is able to predict future mechanical failure . See facts and exhibits below;
Exb A) 5/20/13 vehicle was inspected , replaced an injector, alternator, serpentine belt, rear catalytic converter. Vehicle was not able to be smogged at that time until the engine code and performance were corrected, ie; back fire low compression in 2 cylinders ,tech advised for further diagnostic or an Engine tear down we only declined the engine tear-down, VIP Autos in house mechanic further diagnosed the vehicle and found the problem, replaced spark plug wires, new injectors, a gasket and vacuum lines thus code and performance corrected.
Exb B) 6/7/2013 vehicle returned back to 3 party facility, smog check passed [redacted] concerns.
Exb C) 8/11/13vehicle offered for sale see federal buyers guide with a limited 50% parts and labor internal engine, trans, drive axle 30days /1000 miles only, page 2 advised the consumer of problems that may occur in used vehicles. This was signed and agreed to.
Some time after that customer called after hours saying the check engine lite came on we invited her to come by, our scanner found a possible faulty o2 sensor, that we replaced at no charge in lieu of the 50/50 warranty we said "if it comes on again please let us know."
Exb D) 8/29/2013 customer advised the eng lite came back on; vehicle was taken back to the 3rd party outside facility,VIP Autos paid for the diagnostic, exaust manifold, and the right side Catalytic converter $1,781.99 paid 100% by VIP Autos, at no charge to customer in lieu of the 50/50.
Exb E) 9/13/2013 Customer called said "radiator blew up" we had it towed to 3rd party facility, and again repaired it with a new radiator, thermostat ,VIP Autos again paid $591.79 at no cost in lieu of the 50/50 warranty.
Exb F) Please keep in mind this is a 93 Mitsubishi Eclipse with XXXXX miles sold for $6760.00 the customer has had it for almost 1 year and 10,000 miles ,we have no knowledge of the customers driving habits or maintenance.
We have gone above and beyond the implied warranty as stated on the "Buyers Guide"
we have acted in good faith, and have done and will do everything reasonably possible to help.
I have had communication with both the customer and her son, and will continue to work towards an amicable resolution.
Sincerely,

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 8, 2014/08/06) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
To comment on exhibit A, it clearlt states VIP AUTOS refused further diagnostic not just engine tear down. Reciept also states they read codes and did further diagnostic that said cylinders were bad. Also if Romona tire was already replacing wires and injectors, why did they not know to replace simple things like spark plugs, that VIP AUTOS inhouse mechanic found? If gasket was replaced why was it leaking soon after I bought car?
Yes I did sign Buyers Guide. I was trusting in MR [redacted] and VIP AUTOS "47 point inspection" Check engine light came on as soon as I drove car off the lot. They tried to band aid it with an o2 sensor, when it really needed a catilytic convertor because the check engine light kept coming on I brought the car back over and over until it was done Even though the car was 10 years old, it only had one owner and 92,000 miles which is relatively low. I thought I was making a good purchase. I did not expect it to be perfect but I have been overwhelmed by the numerous repairs.
If Romona Tire had already replaced exhaust manifold ie ex D how come it would need to be replaced again causing the catalytic convertor to go out again? And if injectors were new ,why would seals be bad only 11 months and 10,000 miles later? (see invoice #XXXXXX being faxed) Car taken back to Romona Tire on July @#,2014.
The radiator repair in ex E is an example of VIP AUTOS covering up their practice of putting band aids on parts.I told them when I called I had had the radiator inspected and it was found to have a sealing agent put in it.
Yes I have had the car for a year, but it has had major problems from DAY 1. I have had the oil changed every 3,000 miles and 10,000 miles a year is by no means excessive. I am a 50 year old woman to suggest that I race the car around is completely ludicrous.I only wanted reliable transportation. My last car was purchased with 120,000 milesFinal Consumer Response /* (4200, 13, 2014/08/13) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I will take car to Ramona Tire for diagnostic but this has already been done on X-XX-XX invoice #XXXXXX which was dropped by VIP AUTOS and faxed to the Revdex.com. This was the reason I recontacted Mr [redacted] in the first place. They said the catalytic converter was not covered under warrany because of other issues and it was no transferable. I really don't understand the reasoning for a second diagnosis.
Furthermore I DO NOT WANT ANOTHER VEHICLE FROM VIP AUTOS. I DO NOT TRUST THEM. I am upside down in this car deal already and cannot afford a new car. The car is only worth 3,000,I owe 4,000, put 2,500 down and 2,500 in payments and 2,500 in repairs. I have NO MORE MONEY!!! If I could afford a new car I would have bought one in the beginning and not gotten jerked around the last year.
Final Business Response /* (4000, 33, 2014/10/13) */
VIP Autos will always seek to make every customer satisfied of their used car purchase no matter how long they own it. however with my 30+ years in the industry I know it is impossible 100% of the time, with that said VIP Autos also thanks the Revdex.com for its attempt to resolve the concern and also agrees with the consumer from her written letter that was sent to the Revdex.com, the only resolve will be small claims. Or possibly mediation as agreed in her signed contract. Of course VIP Autos or any business would not want this however, VIP Autos feels confident in its decisions and looks to put this matter to a close.
