We are sorry that the Complainant feels this way For better or worse, we get busy at unpredictable times for unpredictable intervals, particularly around Christmas and New Year's We do our best to get to every phone call, but there are days where we have to let many phone calls go unanswered as the customers that have taken the time to come down and that we have in front of us will always take priority over those who may or may not come down Further, there is a limited amount of time to get to the phone before it goes to voicemail Frequently, when we receive a phone call, the phone stops ringing as we are headed to pick it up we are not always right next to the phone, but if we have been headed to get it, we will be in a much better position to get it if another call follows right after the first, which is what the Complainant asserts In an ironic twist, I can directly point to an instance of this that happened as I was replying to this complaint, 1/17/at 12:40PM I had a customer in front of me finishing a transaction for a used anime DVD The phone rang I was busy with my customer and figured that either voice mail would get it or my employee would The phone stopped ringing Almost simultaneously out of our back room came my employee carrying a tall and precarious stack of video games My customer left The phone rang again, very shortly after the last one stopped I answered and assisted the person on the other end, who happened to have a female sounding voice Because I was responding to this complaint, and the issue was fresh in my head, I checked the call log thinking wouldn't that be "funny" if that had been the Complainant The phone number of the call that I missed while I was with my customer and my employee was in an uninterruptable task was indeed, the Complainant's phone number that is listed in the notification that we received I suspect that the second call was from his mother, as he says he does in his complaint, and I am sure that he will see this as further evidence of the validity of his unhappiness Additionally, as noted above, we do have voicemail so that our customers can leave us a message and we can attempt to return calls in those instances where we can not get to the phone We are far from perfect at this, but we will always do our best to return such calls in a timely fashion
