I didn't complete my Science course with Ashford University because I decided to finish them with [redacted] I was taking one class a month at Ashford UniversityOnce I attended [redacted] ( [redacted] , I received a phone call from Ashford close to the end of the month if I were planning to return to AshfordThe re-entry advisor mentioned that I should make a decision before April because my balance would go to collectionI mentioned that I would return to Ashford by JanuaryOnce I completed my courses at ***, I called Ashford because I desire to finish my education at a lower priceThe financial aid office or account office advisor said she does not know how much funds were used or if they were planning to keep the fundsShe advised me to call [redacted] to see if those funds are still pending; [redacted] said those funds are not pendingI called Ashford to see when should I start class again, but I did not get an exact answerI called again and

I started BUSon November 17, and I was doing fine in the class (this was a tough class but I was managing and working hard) up until the last assignment For some reason I received a zero on my final assignment which caused me to fail the classThe professor stated that my final assignment was a zero due to plagarismThe reason that I am so upset about this is because if you look at my track record through my MBA program, you will see that I had straight As, and a GPAI am a honor student and I work extremely hard with all of my classesI was willing to accept maybe a "B" grade because I admit that this professor was very hard, but I had tough professors before where I just dug in and stayed up exceptionally late to complete my classes, but to give me a "F" because the professor accused me of plagarism is completely hurtful towards my work ethic I would never copy anyone's assignment and I take education and originality very seriousI proceeded t

I attended Ashford in 2010-and had many problems The adviser wrongly informed me about the accreditation, when I complained about an issue with an instructor it went unresolved, and when I wanted to drop a course due to these issues, they still charged me for it I went through their Dispute Resolution process and even though I sent supporting information, they didn't consider any of it Very disappointing experience

I completed my associate's degree at a local community college in and decided to go back to finish my Bachelor's at Ashford about years ago and am currently classes away from completing my Bachelor's degree with Ashford UniversityI have had nothing but positive experiences with this schoolThe advisor and financial services people have always been very helpful, knowledgeable, and politeMy advisor reaches out to me periodically, sometimes to let me know if there is anything that will affect my degree progress, such as a rescheduled class, and sometimes just to see if I need anything or have any questions about where I am at Some of the negative reviews mentioned the amount of money spent, but they were always up front with how much it would cost and my advisor even suggested that I complete electives through the local community college to speed up my progress and save some moneyI do have a military grant and pell grant, so the amount for me isn't as much as others are spending, but I have never been surprised by any of the fees, as they outline it clearly before you commit to start taking classesConsidering the grants that I have, I would have paid at least five times more to complete my degree through a local University than the amount I have spent with Ashford They also accepted all of my prior credits from my associate's, including classes that were completed 10+ years ago, and transferring credits that I completed concurrently from another school has been quick and easyI haven't had any experience trying to transfer these credits somewhere else, but I don't really have a reason to; if I decide to continue on to my Master's I would definitely do it through Ashford I wouldn't suggest this school for an associate's degree, as those are cheaper through local community colleges and gives you an idea of what you want to do before investing so much money, but for bachelor's and above, I would absolutely recommend Ashford University

I am currently enrolled with Ashford University, in the beginning I had no issuesBut I received an email from my advisor stating I was placed into the wrong courseI had already taken this course when I was active dutyI was in the beginning of my second week and was advised if I quite the course I would have to pay back my GI BillI felt this was unfair because they control scheduling and transcriptsI should not have been penalized for the lack of schedulingThe main concern is my advisor didn't even bother to call me, instead he sent an email to let me know I would have to pay it back if I left the courseHe was unprofessional and didn't even bother to provide other optionsI did let him know I was going to report the situationHe still chose to do nothing

I transferred from Ashford to another universityI was notified by my current university that I needed my transcripts sent over from AshfordI cannot access my account because of holdsI called and was told that I owe Ashford 12,and this amount has to be paid in fullI asked to have a copy of my ledger card and they emailed it to meAfter reviewing it I do not understand where they are getting this amount from My loans are from the government and are therefore a debt until I graduate from collegeAfter graduation I am allowed six months before I have to start repayment of my loans to the governmentI do not pay Ashford directly because my loans come from the governmentNo one has been able to tell me where these charges come from expect that I did not pass three of the seven classes I was takingMy understanding is that if I would have stayed with Ashford and after graduation I would still owe them money which isn't trueWhen they sent my loans back to the

As a single mother of 3, I called Ashford University to request information about the school The 'salesperson' told me that I could complete a year BA in years or less and that credits could be transferable if I went to another college, for whatever reason After taking online classes for a little over a year, I had to temporarily drop out of the program to work a part-time job on top of my full-time job Unfortunately, my credits are non-transferable and I have to pay $16,in student loan debt Seriously...this so called 'university' needs to be shut down by the feds Extremely over-priced, pushy salespeople, misleading information, online scam artists

Ashford University is the WORST "university" ever The administration is absolutely incompetent, staff is inept, and the "professors" do not even know the coursework and constantly show their bias and prejudice The curriculum is worthless, archaic, and nothing but liberal propaganda and lies I wish I could take back the last years of my life and get my degree from an honorable university

I attended Ashford University from November to February 2013, in the beginning I was scammedThis college is a JOKE! Never ever attend this university unless you want to be screwed up the BUTTI did everything I was suppose to and by the time I stopped attending I was credits away from a Bachelors degreeI called and made the arrangements to finish at the local community college near me and was going to transfer those credits to Ashford to receive my degreeBUT low and beyond they say I owe 1,dollars and they didn't not get the transcripts I mailed weeks earlier and they will not award me my degree or diploma till I pay the money backHowever, the money was paid in I have emails to prove it and when I tried to call and address the situation they hung up on meSo I am reporting them here and I am writing a letter to the President expressing my disappointment with this collegeI will NEVER EVER give them a good recommendationThey are the WORST university everI have sent emails after emails and even my husband called and they do not reply back and they are rude and awful people

I finished my BA in four years at AshfordThroughout the four years I believed that my criminal record would not affect my prospects for employment in my fieldI was told this at enrollment by the enrollment advisorOnce I graduated I found out that this was not the caseI now owe 65,dollars for a diploma that I will never be able to useWhen I messaged to find out what could be done, I was told to email their department that handles these mattersDo not sign up for this collegeThey are full on scam artists

I have been going around in circles with several members of the staff to enroll back in schoolI have been given the run around several timesI have been told by certain staff members I have to wait a certain amount of time to enroll back in school (to which I did) when it was time for me to enroll back I was told, I couldn't enroll because I had a balance, come to fine out that was incorrect, I was told once I was on the payment plan I can enroll backI set up the payment plan and Its still being issues with enrollmentI also find out I was given 3/NA's when I explained to my advisor at the time he kept scheduling me with an instructor that did not allow students to post assignments when its convenient for themI went to this school before and I have been able to post all off my assignments on Tuesdays and my discussion comments, then later in the week I was able to meet atten***ce (this worked for me because of my work schedule)This particular new instructor didn't allow po

I've been asked for documents after documents! I've sent everything I've been asked to send! Then when I had an issue with getting a particular document from the IRS, I was told I could get it (IRS Transcript) from my fafsa IRS retrieval toolI turned that in and was told THAT WAS THE WRONG DOCUMENT! So I had to stay on the longest hold EVER with the IRS just to request for my transcript and still had to wait SEVEN DAYS until I received it in the mailOnce I got it I faxed it, emailed it and uploaded it onto the funding portal to make sure it was received! I have emailed the financial aid department EVERYDAY to make sure they have everything and even asked to expedite my process because of all I've been through! I was told since they've already reviewed and stated the documents I've sent over were satisfied that I have to wait some more up to 3-weeks!!! I think NOT! if that's the case I'm going to dis enroll from this school and go to another university and I will make sure I tell everyone about this miserable experience with the financial aid departmentI've already completed TWO week courses and i'm almost complete with my first week in my 3rd courseI feel like the financial aid department had me going around and around with this to stall time or somethingThis is not OK especially when I look into my portal and see my classes balance is over 5000!

This university calls me at inappropriate hours from multiple numbers after being told not to contact me againI’ve indicated my lack of interest and at this point feel as if I’m being harassed

My name is ***  [redacted] and I am a former student at Ashford UniversityI started at this school on 9/29/and I never really had any issues other than not receiving all of my funds in a timely mannerI was doing great at the school and at my prior school, I only had a few classes to complete to get my AS degree so my intentions were to return afterwardsHowever, now I am at a point where I don't want to even go back to Ashford University as a student because they are crooked and are only looking out for their best interestsThey had a problem with me withdrawing from the school so they stuck me with a balance of $1,and now I am unable to obtain my official transcript so that I can further my educationThe entire issue of this matter is if you owe someone they wouldn't want to keep dealing with youThis school has been sending me emails and placing phone calls wanting me to return and they even said if I go back that they can recover some of my fundsThis sounds very suspicious to me and I question their honestyI spoke with a guy named Christian over the phone and he told me that $4,was sent back to my lender during the time that I was enrolledI just think this school needs to be investigated because things aren't adding upAll I ever wanted to do is finish school so that my family and I can have better lives and to go through this is a bunch of mess to meNow I have to continue struggling because of a school that I trustedI know that I should have a zero balance but one thing about it Ashford University will not get away with this one and I am going to make sure of that

Upon starting my travels to higher education, Ashford University made the process extremely easyI filed for my FASA, which was approvedFast forward to a year later, I updated my FASA information, received my "Award Letter," but then was informed that I needed to submit proof that I graduated (which I did, it took weeks for them to update it in the system, I still have a hold for it according to the student portal), a notarized document for my Financial Aide (that I sent in Notarized by a local bank and had to explain several times that because they kept asking or suggesting UPS...I live in a rural area the nearest UPS is more than an hour away from my home), and several other documentsI was told that the ID that I used was not acceptable, and until I sent them an acceptable ID (which I do not currently have the funds to get), I cannot attend coursesI was in my third week of a course when they dis-enrolled meI just checked my student portal, as my Adviser told me I would not be charged for this course, but there it is as a chargeDO NOT ATTEND this college! I wish I had waited another month to look into Colleges, as my state now offers tuition free colleges coursesI'm in debt over $10K in student loans, with Ashford University saying that I owe them another $3K! I basically wasted this last year and put myself in debt for nothingI'm hoping that I can get into a State College before I have to pay these loans backAt minimum wage (which I was trying to get away from) it's going to be a very long time to pay this debt offThanks Ashford for the wasted time, money, stress, and current headache!

I was attending Ashford University (Online) pursuing a Bachelors of Business degreeThe convenience of being able to go to school online and be able to work a full time job is what lead me to this school My goal was to complete my degree and be able to find a job with my degree The counselors and advisors that I talked to when I was getting ready to attend Ashford, almost guaranteed that I would be able to better myself with this degree and be able to find management position in which at the time I was already a supervisor at my old job I started school everything was going well til they started raising there per credit cost and it felt like they were doing it every six months and probably still do Over the course of completing my degree I had dropped out because I felt I was spending more than what they said it would cost I was sent to a collection agency twice for not completing a course which I drop out of in the first two weeks I ended up settling with the collection

It has been approximately year since I have withdrawn from AshfordAfter several attempts of re-entry, I was denied due to an "accrued debt" that I could not pay in the amount of $2,The exact words of my re-entry counselor [redacted] were, "This balance would need to either be paid in full OR you can set up monthly payment arrangements instead The arrangements would need to be finalized and the first payment received prior to your returnIn addition, since we do not have the information from the 15/FAFSA yet which means that I cannot calculate in Pell Grant, it looks like you would have a shortfall in this AY as well in the amount of $2,011.95"My main complaint is that I do not understand how my bill is calculated, the amounts in which I was charged, and how much financial aid actually paid I am absolutely sure that I was over-charged for many of my coursesI am unsure how Ashford can deny my re-entry and then expect paymentThey will not

On 8/1/I un-enrolled at Ashford University with a zero financial balanceToday I received an email stating that I owe them 1687.00, when I called them, at first I was told that they could not give me any informationI called a different number and was transferred to the VA specialist and he told me I owed for classes because I did not complete the academic yearWhen I questioned the difference in amt between and classes, he then proceeded to tell me it was for "upcoming classes"When I questioned why I was being charged for classes I did not take he rambled on about my financial aid being returnedI asked him directly what classes I was being charged for and he would not answerI ended our phone call when he refused to tell me what I was being charged for and why my acct balance mysteriously went from to Please note that Ashford charged me an average of per class, so if I owe for classes(whether past or upcoming), how does it equal 1687? I ultimate

I enrolled in the university, but decided to withdrawal after further researching their historyThey had previous lawsuits that were "cleared" up, but at that point, I did not feel comfortable attending the school After deciding not to attend the university and telling the advisor about my decision, the advisor kept calling and emailing trying to persuade me to attendThey would not take no for an answerThe advisor belittled my reasoning for not attendingThey became very condescending and spoke as if they knew what was best for my lifeThey told me if everyone in life followed their gut feeling, people wouldn't get anywhereI kept receiving phones calls/emails about every other day, I blocked the advisor's numberMonths later I received a phone call from the university, I sent it to voicemail and I immediately received an email from the same advisorThe email said they understood previously wasn't a good time for me, but they would like for me to attendTiming had nothing to do with the choice of not attendingThe advisor made the entire situation very uncomfortable and they were very pushy

I've been attending Ashford for a while nowI'm three classes into my degreeI have never had any issues with Ashford...I really don't understand all these negative reviewsFrom the very beginning my advisors have been helpful and personable, and they've made themselves very available to me to help me when I need itThey've never let me down and honestly it's the support I've felt from the staff at Ashford that is a significant factor in my confidence that I can succeed at this schoolThe course material is paced well for the working adult who also has familial responsibilitiesMost of my peers in my classes maintain full-time jobs and have kidsAt the same time, the material is engaging and challengingAshford uses multi-media technology often to keep the learning experience interesting and honestly, my ebook is sometimes hard to put downI feel motivated to succeed, and I know I canI am growing as a person because of this online university that is so accessible to me as a disabled woman, who has a hard time taking transit to physical classes
