He got the car for free A neglected Mercedes Benz CKompressor. He could not afford the maintenance and repair
Mercedes are costly vehicles to own, and require high maintenance since they are high performance cars. That’s why the car was given away. Initial estimate was $2,700 He blew the engineAfter we serviced his transmission we advised him not to drive it until his coolant issue was fixed. We rented him my carHe stated that he didn’t have good credit to rent a car and can afford $300/week for my car. He only paid what he could. Some weeks $other times zero. He got my car which I am liable for, from November 21,2016, to March 24, 2017, that’s weeks at $300/week, that over $5,200. So, based on his statement he still owes me $2,200.We fixed the engineWe used the shop’s working capital to purchase parts and worked on it over hours. We only billed him hours since he was broke and has a sick mother. We do not make a payment plan but made an exception due to his circumstances. He signed an agreement to pay $bi-monthly on the amount owed for the repair and the remainder for the car rentalI discounted the car rental remainder by 50% to help him out. On April 26, 2017, we sent him an email and letter of noncompliant since he has failed to make the first two payments. A mechanic lien will be the next step. After receiving his car on March 24, 2017, he complained that lights and windshield wiper were not working. That wasn’t mentioned to us and we never addressed these issues. We told him to bring back the following week.He never brought the car back for electrical issues and engine problems. The car needed engine mounts and was costing us money by holding up a stall for our daily operation. We lost the means to make an honest living fixing other paying customers cars. We needed the stall back and therefore only addressed the engine problem. He never made a single payment. If he would have honored his word and made payments we would have been kind enough to fix it and add it to his outstanding balance. Instead he refuses to bring the car back for us to fix the issues. Paying customers would bring it back for us to have it fixed. So, now we have lost the working capital we put into this car and have a large hole to get out of.He got the car for free and wants us to repair all of it without being liable to his agreement to pay for it, like regulator customers. We have a good business here taking care of our client’s cars. We are not in business to work for free because we have bills to pay from the parts cost to the electric bill. We are in business to make money so we can be responsible to ourselves and our loved ones.

On October 19, 2015, this client, a [redacted], called me and needed her car get a service B done on her carShe came to the shop and also said that the car had problems shiftingI drove her back to her work in her car so I can test drive the carI initially did not feel any shifting problemsOnly
after we serviced her car and test drove it again did we noticed the shifting being offWe noticed that her odometer was at over 62,and therefore asked her if she ever had her transmission serviced[redacted] transmissions are to be serviced every 40,milesHer car was overdueWe advised her that a transmission service is in orderShe agreedWe completed the transmission service and saved a sample of her transmission fluid. On October 30, 2105, she came to the shop and payed us for the services rendered, Service B and a transmission service? Prior to that day we discussed that she needed to replace her transmissionThe [redacted] was not happy to hear about it especially that it had to be a rebuilt oneThe [redacted] Brought with her motor pool [redacted], a [redacted], to advise herSo, I showed him the transmission fluid sample and he verified that the fluid was dirty and had a burnt smell? I made an estimate on what it would cost to put in a rebuilt transmission inThe price I quoted her was $4,but since she was military I gave her a ten (10%) percent discount, that made the estimate at $4,? She thought that was too high and wanted to look for a transmission herselfI told her that a storage fee ($25/day) is usually accrued but I said I would waive it as long as she did not take too long (a week) finding me oneI have to pay for additional parking spot for the shop.I called the [redacted] Several times to see if she made any progress finding a rebuilt transmissionIt took her over four (4) months to decide what to doOn March7, 2015, the [redacted] Came into the shop and decided to pay (using her credit card) us upfront the $4,for a rebuilt transmission? Rebuilt transmission has zero (0) miles on it, used transmission have miles on it.? ? Once we got started on the repair, we realized that her transmission was still good but the valve body and conductor plate was the issueSo, we ordered one and installed itThe conductor plate had a different VIN # so it could not be programmed? We sent it back and received one that matched the VIN #We installed it and programmed itAfterwards, we test drove it to have the transmission to adaptIt ? wouldn't shift smoothlyI had a former [redacted] technician test drive it and he said the transmission had to be rebuiltSo, I took it to a transmission shop to get it rebuiltThey informed that the transmission was good but the coding was the issueThe valve body and the conductor plate was not married to each other so we had the unit reprogrammed and now the car runs smoothly. As for the tow truck alleged incident, the car was never towed it was drivenIn order to avoid any headaches, I agreed to get her rims fixedNow, I have the headache of answering this complaint even though I was generous and did not charge her for one hundred thirty (130) days of storageThat accruesto $3,in storage fee? The valve body work we did amounts to $3,or $3,with discount? The difference on either is less than $3,250, $or $respectfully? Since, there is such a largedifference between the overcharge and the storage fee, I am willing to overlook it and call it evenIf she persists to harass me I will pursue legal actions to collect the balance on the storage fee.I want this over with and behind me? I hope and pray that reason prevail over anger and emotions

after we serviced her car and test drove it again did we noticed the shifting being off. We noticed that her odometer was at over 62,000 and therefore asked her if she ever had her transmission serviced. [redacted] transmissions are to be serviced every 40,000 miles. Her car was overdue. We advised her that a transmission service is in order. She agreed. We completed the transmission service and saved a sample of her transmission fluid. On October 30, 2105, she came to the shop and payed us for the services rendered, Service B and a transmission service.   Prior to that day we discussed that she needed to replace her transmission. The [redacted] was not happy to hear about it especially that it had to be a rebuilt one. The [redacted] Brought with her motor pool [redacted], a [redacted], to advise her. So, I showed him the transmission fluid sample and he verified that the fluid was dirty and had a burnt smell.  I made an estimate on what it would cost to put in a rebuilt transmission in. The price I quoted her was $4,946.59 but since she was military I gave her a ten (10%) percent discount, that made the estimate at $4,451.94.  She thought that was too high and wanted to look for a transmission herself. I told her that a storage fee ($25/day) is usually accrued but I said I would waive it as long as she did not take too long (a week) finding me one. I have to pay for additional parking spot for the shop.I called the [redacted] Several times to see if she made any progress finding a rebuilt transmission. It took her over four (4) months to decide what to do. On March7, 2015, the [redacted] Came into the shop and decided to pay (using her credit card) us upfront the $4,451.94 for a rebuilt transmission.  Rebuilt transmission has zero (0) miles on it, used transmission have miles on it.  Once we got started on the repair, we realized that her transmission was still good but the valve body and conductor plate was the issue. So, we ordered one and installed it. The conductor plate had a different VIN # so it could not be programmed.  We sent it back and received one that matched the VIN #. We installed it and programmed it. Afterwards, we test drove it to have the transmission to adapt. It  wouldn't shift smoothly. I had a former [redacted] technician test drive it and he said the transmission had to be rebuilt. So, I took it to a transmission shop to get it rebuilt. They informed that the transmission was good but the coding was the issue. The valve body and the conductor plate was not married to each other so we had the unit reprogrammed and now the car runs smoothly. As for the tow truck alleged incident, the car was never towed it was driven. In order to avoid any headaches, I agreed to get her rims fixed. Now, I have the headache of answering this complaint even though I was generous and did not charge her for one hundred thirty (130) days of storage. That accruesto $3,250 in storage fee.  The valve body work we did amounts to $3,889.00 or $3,500.10 with discount.  The difference on either is less than $3,250, $951.84 or $562.94 respectfully.  Since, there is such a largedifference between the overcharge and the storage fee, I am willing to overlook it and call it even. If she persists to harass me I will pursue legal actions to collect the balance on the storage fee.I want this over with and behind me.  I hope and pray that reason prevail over anger and emotions.
