When Ted had shown the house to [redacted] and her husband, they did mention that they had a dog and chickens, and they did ask if they could build a chicken coop. They were told to give us their plans for building a chicken coop so we could then consult with the property owner as to whether we would...

give them permission to do so. 
 
We never heard from them regarding their chicken coop plans. Also their home is owned by a Church who is next door neighbors to this rental. [redacted] and her husband had built a chicken coop without permission and it was able to be seen from the Church parking lot. So we got a call from the Church asking why the renters ([redacted] and [redacted]) built a coop attached to the house. We then called them requesting to take down the chicken coop, they didn't, so we then served them a 30 day For Cause notice. With serving the notice they then took down the chicken coop. They then came to us with their plans to continue building the coop, we consulted with the Church board of directors who then denied their chicken coop. 
 
They then in retaliation turned the property in for inspection with the City of Portland without our knowledge. And we were battling the City of Portland housing inspection division for the past year. At this time NOW things are quiet and us and the tenants are in good standing order.
