I was duped into magazine subscriptions through this company and they won't let me cancel.
I was talked into several magazine subscriptions by a saleswoman at this company. The money is charged to my credit card in the amount of $68.19 per month which is over the regular price. I don't want these magazines and I cannot continue to pay for them as it has become a financial hardship. I was not told in the initial call that they could not be cancelled. I have called them, they were rude and would not cancel them. Now I cannot even get through on the phone.

Desired Outcome

I would like the subscriptions cancelled and for them to stop charging me.

The company VIP Readers Services Baysand Financial Inc wouldn't allow me to cancel their subscription. They have threatened and harassed me for debt
I was contacted by VIP Readers Service, also known as, Baysand Financial Inc. The company claimed I was entered into a sweepstakes and I could win a trip, a car and money. They offered me a subscription based service for magazines in which I agreed to try. However, after a month of their services, I was not happy with their services, I received damaged magazines and magazines I didn't even order. I called the company and their representative claimed I could not cancel their subscription. They claimed I was bound to a 2 year payment for every month of $39. They claimed they had a recording of me agreeing, however, they did not record audio of their cancellation policy and their representative tricked me into receiving their services. The company has now threatened me with invoices and has harassed me with phone calls demanding I pay them for their services. They have threatened me to send my debit to a collection agency. I have repeatedly demanded they cancel my subscription and I will be sending them a written notice to cancel this subscription, I will refuse to pay these scammers.

Desired Outcome

I want the business to immediately cancel my subscription to their services at once. I'd also like the company to stop sending me invoices and threatening me with collection agency's and phone calls. I'd also like a written notice from the company, confirming they have canceled the subscription.

The customer placed an order for magazines on March 11, 2019 for 6 magazines. They are Sports Illustrated, US Weekly and Entertainment Weekly for 2 years and Muscle Mustang and Fast Fords, Videomaker and Ukulele each for 4 years. During this call we discussed his magazines, length of service, payment amount and terms of the order. The order was then verified using an independent validation system. The next day a letter was sent Priority Mail to insure delivery. Delivery confirmation shows the package was delivered to his home on May 13, 2019. This letter confirmed in writing the magazines, length of service, payment amount and terms of the order. We held the order approximately 10 days to allow the customer time to read over the information provided before entering them with the various publishers. We spoke with the customer several times regarding his payments, he indicated he didn't want to start making payments until all of his magazines were received. We explained that once they start they come for the full term ordered. We again spoke with him once all the magazines had started and he made a payment using our automated payment system on June 8, 2019. We placed the magazine order in good faith that the customer wanted the magazines he selected and would continue the service for the length of time agreed upon. We were surprised to hear that he is receiving magazines he didn't order and damaged magazines. Since magazines are sent directly from the publishers we would appreciate an opportunity to correct these issues. We can be reached Monday through Friday at X-XXX-XXX-XXXX Eastern Time.

I was not led to believe I would be paying 4 years of magazines, let alone receive magazines I didn't request. I have written notice from the company's representative starring the agreement was for 2 years only not 4. WHEN I first spoke to the salesperson they led me to believe I would pay $39. I should not have to pay for poor service, when I wrote to the company they ignored my request for information on the company, such as the physical address or main office.
I have spoken to a consumer protections attorney, which has advise me to stop paying and to contact the three major credit offices for explanation.

Our Manager spoke with Mr. on Friday, July 5, 2019 and the order has been cancelled. We have sent Mr. a letter to confirm.

Thank you for your recent letter regarding ***.

We take great pride in our service, and the fact that our customers have a complete understanding before an order is entered to the respective publishers. Once entered, it takes a commitment on our part to guarantee the services we promise.

Our records indicate that *** received both the written agreement stating all terms of the order, along with a verification call that reviewed those terms. We have confidence that *** understood his agreement to receive the magazine service. Records show that on March 28, 2018 he even called to change his magazine selection.

Our Customer Service Specialist spoke with *** earlier this month and he indicated that he was never interested in the service and is refusing to make further payments. We understand circumstances change and we try to work with customers to maintain a good relationship for the future. However, due to ***'s refusal, we processed a cancellation at that time. He should allow 6 to 10 weeks for all of his magazines to stop.

If we can be of any further assistance, please inform.

I don't even want to give them 1 star. Maybe if there was a half star I would. I've kept calling to cancel sending me all these magazines and the representative is useless and biligerant. She won't cancel my subscription but keeps calling me pretty much throughout the week to collect payment. I've closed out banks due to a stolen auto of ours that had highly sensitive personal info. They call 3-4 times a week. I've mailed back all copies of magazines and they still continue to harass me for payment. They won't cancel and said I have to pay over $800. I don't recall a 2 yr contract. This is such a ridiculous scam and headache.
