January 22, 2014 Dear Revdex.com,Thank you for notifying us of Ms.[redacted]’s complaint ID# [redacted]. We have resolved the claim as follows: VIP Roofing Services was contacted by the Revdex.com on 1/07/2014. VIP Roofing Services performed a roof inspection at...

said property in August 2012 and performed services in August 2012 as requested by original homeowner. Home was sold 1 month later, in September 2012, to complainant. After 1 year, VIP Roofing Services was contacted by new homeowner/complainant regarding a leak issue that appeared to be  in the same area.Upon review of our records, VIP Roofing Services found that upon our first inspection of the roof in August 2012, we advised the original homeowner that a larger area needed to be repaired in order to properly address the leaking roof. However, the homeowner did not wish to spend the funds required to repair the larger area and opted to repair a smaller area. This was a verbal agreement between the original homeowner and the owner of VIP Roofing Services and was not documented. This information was explained to the complainant. As the above situation was not documented, VIP Roofing Services offered to repair the additional, larger area at no charge to the complainant. In addition, it was agreed that the original warranty period would stand from the original work invoice dated 9/25/2012 to the original homeowner, as that is who VIP Roofing Services’ contract was with, and who authorized and paid for the repair. VIP Roofing Services will also not be responsible for any other damage(s) as we were not authorized to perform our original recommended repair. The additional repairs were completed on 1/22/2014, and the complainant has signed the attached document agreeing to the above.VIP Roofing Services considers this claim resolved and closed at this time. Please let us know if you have any questions, need additional information, or further resolve.  Please contact me directly with any determinations regarding complaint ID# [redacted].  Sincerely,[redacted]Marketing & Client ServicesVIP Roofing Services, LLC

Review: I hired VIP Roofing to put a new roof on my home. When I spoke with the estimator, I was very specific about the job I needed done, and told him I needed to put a new roof on both the house and the patio cover. He sent me an estimate based on this job, which we agreed upon and paid 50% up front. A few days after that, I spoke with the superintendent, who mentioned doing the patio cover, as well. Today (third day on the job site), I asked the roofers if they had started on the patio cover yet, and the foreman said he didn't see anything about the patio cover in his paperwork, so I called the office and spoke with the office manager who told me it was on the original estimate. a little while later, I spoke with the estimator again, who said it actually was not on the original estimate, and they have to charge me an extra $850 to finish the patio cover. This was not the agreement that was originally made, but because I am in a bind (I'm putting a new roof on the house in order to sell it), I have no choice but to get the job completed.

Additionally, when the superintendent originally called me to schedule the job, he said he would need to put a dumpster in the driveway. I specifically told him to put it on the right side of the driveway, but keep it off my neighbor's lawn. When I came home from work on Thursday, there was a commercial dumpster (much too large of a dumpster for this job, in my opinion) sitting across my driveway and 2/3 of my neighbor's yard. I called the superintendent back to get this resolved, and he said someone should have spoken to the neighbors to see if they minded it being there. However, nobody ever asked the neighbors, so I requested that he have the dumpster removed (or at least moved over to be more in my grass than my neighbor's). He told me that it would be moved by Friday morning (this was on Thursday afternoon). The dumpster sat there until this morning (monday), and has now slightly damaged my neighbor's grass. I tried to get in touch with the superintendent on multiple occasions between Friday and this morning (monday), with no response/no call back. I spoke with him once on Saturday, and he mentioned that he didn't realize the dumpster was still in the yard (although all it would have taken was a phone call to me or to the roofers to find out if the dumpster was still here), but he would call the dumpster company to have it removed. I requested that he call me immediately after he knew what was going on, and he agreed to do that, but I never heard back from him, and have not been able to get in touch with him since.Desired Settlement: I would like to have VIP cover the cost of the patio cover shingle replacement, or a percentage off my total costs, due to the fact that this job was agreed upon in the original estimate, and all parties were aware of this.

Review: I purchased my house in September, 2012. There were some roof issues that were to be fixed before purchase of the house, paid for by the seller. VIP Roofing did the work on the house with a 2 year guarantee on fixing the issues listed in the contract that were to be fixed as a condition of the purchase of the house by me, one of them being to investigate and repair a leak that was coming into the bay window at the front of the house. About a year later, during heavy rains the bay window (same area that was leaking before the repairs) was leaking again, dripping water out of the bay window and so bad that I have drywall damage around that window and there is a wet spot on the ceiling leading to that window. I contacted the roofer, and the owner of the company came out to look at the damage. He looked at the side of the house where some of the repairs were done, and said that the leak must be coming from higher up on the roof (spot on the ceiling), and that he is good friends with the seller and "I didn't charge her enough to go all the way to the top of the roof". I said that's not my problem and my roof that was supposed to be fixed wasn't fixed, and he said he would contact the seller and "either she will pay for it or we will pay for it but it will get fixed" and that he would contact me after speaking with the seller. A week later I get an estimate emailed from his receptionist for $312.84 plus materials to fix my roof and stated "the previous leak that was repaired is in a new area than the present leak". My contract clearly stated "roof leaking to interior in front bay window to be investigated and repaired". This isn't a new leak as he stated, it's the exact same leak as before. The leak either was never properly fixed or the work he did failed, but either way it was a condition that he fix this particular leak with a 2 year warranty and he's trying to charge me to fix something that was supposed to be fixed before I bought the house.Desired Settlement: I need the leak to be fixed properly as was supposed to have been done in the contract at no cost to me and warranty this work for 2 years. I also have drywall damage due to this leak and would like that inspected for mold repaired if necessary due to the roof repair being done improperly prior to the sale of the house.

Regards,

I had finally decide to get Solar panels installed on my roof.

Since my house was ~ 25 years old, I decided to bite the bullet and have my under felt replaced rather than have to have it repaired and also incur the cost of removing the panel during the work.

Received several quotes for my 2800 sq ft single story house and decide to go with VIP services for a couple of reasons. - Good reviews on [redacted] plus I had met the owner and [redacted] at one of trade shows at Maricopa County Fair grounds. - Very friendly and they also mentioned that they might be able to get some off cut material at a lower rate from their supplier. Anyways went with 90lbs felt and whole house re-felt plus repair of any rotten timbers and repaint.

They also gave me a couple of quote options for thinner felt (significantly cheaper), but wanted to go with something that should out last me....

Job took approx 3-4 days with the odd break for some heavy rain.

They did a very thorough job and left the site very clean. Final cement work was good and any broken tiles were replaced.

Couldn't find any fault and their customer service is excellent - they seem to want to go out of their way to pleas

Review: The job was completed on Monday according to the superintendent who has been in charge the whole time. We informed him that we wanted to inspect the roof before payment was made. He arranged to come to our home Thursday 1/22/15. Upon inspection there were several areas where the integrity of the roof had been compromised with nail/stables poking thru the material. The fix that was offered was that the crew would come back and patch the holes or replace a 20 foot section creating more seams which in turn create more chance for leak in the future. We told him this was not acceptable and we wanted the roof to be installed properly, not repaired because this is what we paid for. He left after telling us he would contact the owner and have him contact us regarding payment and that the crew would be back 1/23/15 to repair the damage to ensure the roof's integrity was intact. As of 10:30am 1/23/15 we have not heard or seen the crew. There are multiple bubbles in the material surface and some in the heat welded seams which compromise the integrity of the seal. Unnecessary seams were made in order for the crew to reuse product that was left over instead of creating one seamless sheet by using new material. The transition area from flat to slanted roof is questionable as to how the material was laid and if it was installed properly and to code.Desired Settlement: We would like a refund of our money in order to contact another company who will perform the services as requested, expected, and paid for. I do not feel at this time that VIP will be able to provide the quality work that we both expect and pay for.

Regards,

These folks were great. [redacted], the owner, did my estimate. He showed-up when he said he would and provided a fair estimate. I also received estimates from [redacted] and [redacted] roofing. ([redacted] gave an outlandish estimate and employed a high pressure sales technique at the time of the estimator's visit.)
As we proceeded through the initial process, I had observed a mistake in the tax included on my bill. I contacted the office staff, [redacted] and [redacted], who righted the matter with absolutely no problem. If you read their advertisement in [redacted], you will see that there is a 5% Senior Discount. Also note that there is a 3% fee for using a credit card.
The crew arrived when they said they would. The crew worked at their job diligently. While I was away from my residence, overnight, one of my trees blew down on my roof. The crew removed the tree without charging me. After I arrived at my residence, I needed to remove the tree from the side of my house. I used my chainsaw to make the big tree into smaller, manageable pieces. The crew told me I could throw the cut-up tree into their debris trailer. As I was completing this task, they helped. Again no charge. Where would you get a crew like that. These guys were GREAT.
Upon final inspection, I met [redacted] is a superintendent who makes sure jobs are done correctly. When he arrived, he immediately went to my roof. By the time I got on the roof he already had a list of things he wanted the crew to take care of. The list exceeded what I would have expected. I cannot say enough good things about [redacted]. Easy to work with and very eager to make sure I received a quality job.
VIP Roofing gets my highest recommendation. Price, quality delivered in a professional manner with a friendly attitude. Don't forget the help they gave me with my tree. Top of the line ladies and gentlemen, Thank you.
