Review: Invoice # [redacted] dated 11/15/2011. I took my boat to have the canvas t top repaired to Virginia Canvas Inc. I was told it would be less expensive to have a new top made rather than repair the old. I specified exactly how I wanted the top to be made and was quoted a price of $207.00. Months later I called them and they said the top was ready. I went to pick up the boat and they were not there. I called them again and they said to take the boat and mail them a check. Upon returning home, to my surprise, there were wrinkles between the grommets and the tie down rope had been looped through the grommets along with five knots with 6 - 8 inch tails blowing in the wind. This was not at all what I specified which was grommets being the proper space so there would be no wrinkles, one tie down line with locking stitches in every grommet and only one knot in the stern. I was told at the time that they knew how to do this. I did not mail them a check because of the poor workmanship. I called and asked them for a date when I could return the boat for correction. As of today they have never called me and they have my old top which was usable as well as the one they had made. I need a top because I cannot be in the sun due to the medication I am taking for my heart.Desired Settlement: I want the old top returned or the new top made correctly. I will be happy to pay them as I told them when they took the new one off my boat for repair. I also told them that if they had misquoted me I would pay them more within reason.
