Date Sent: 5/4/4:03:PMRevdex.com:I have reviewed the offer and/or response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.[Provide details of why you are not satisfied with this resolution.]Regards,*** *** *** ***In our complaint it states we do not want this company on our property They respond by asking us to set up a meeting with Larry N*** their salesman and project manager, on our property. We do not have any confidence in MrN*** MrN*** did not respond to our request for setting up a meeting with my husband and the Code Enforcer as to a time and dateThis was in September Mr N*** is not going to climb a ladder to inspect the roof He claimed he does not go up on a roof Setting up a meeting with MrN*** is pointless. Mr N***'s contractor was incapable of installing this roof correctly He should not have taken this job if his contractor did not have the skill to do a competent job Which clearly he did not We are still waiting to see his certificationAs stated in the contract: certified, insured, independent contractor We asked to see proof of thisNo response. We never received a call to set up a delivery date as stated in the contract A neighbor told us people were on our property The contractor had started the job without informing us We had requested this No response. The contractor did not remove the cedar shake, had sheathed over it and applied some portion of the metal roofing The contract states remove cedar shake The contractor either did not or could not read the contract The contractor said he would make it right He tried but he did not have the skills to do so. Everything I have seen regarding VaCarolina Buildings Incdoes not come close to "ensuring 100% Customer Satisfaction"( as stated in their response to my complaint.) There has been no inspection from the county I have called and talked to them Although we have been told several times that there was We were told that it passed inspection If they have an inspection report from the Accomack County Building Inspectors Office why have they not sent me a copy as I requested in March. We paid an independent inspector Austin S*** who is certified and licensed #*** He sent us his report and I forwarded it to VaCarolina Buildings, Inc No response I also mailed a copy to you. Their contractor has been back to our property how many times? We would not know for sure because we are never notified What kind of reputable company goes to a clients property without informing them? Some of our concerns were sent in a letter in September There was no response. One of the things that might ensure Customer Satisfaction would be responding to the customer. As to a conversation with MrN*** and also in the contract it states Repair bad wood at cost plus **% This was never done Now the metal has to be removed in order to work and replace it. Our concerns :Exterior caulk - There should be noneTuff Rib metal manufacturers of this metal roof, JPeifer metal roof installer of years and Austin S*** Licensed inspector all told us this.No closures - All three of the above confirmed the roof needs closures to prevent rain, insects, birds, etcfrom getting under the metal panels.Dents and scratches - There are many, Tuff Rib does not warranty metal that is scratched According to a representative it will break down and corrode.Daylight streaming into the attic - This can be seen in Austin S***'s picture in his reportWe now have pictures and video of thisThe osb board is compromised and the installation was done very poorly. I would like them to " rectify and remedy all complaints " too, as they stated in their response to the Revdex.com I cannot see how that can happen without removing the roof and replacing it, using a competent installer

Insurance company has been in touch with him and is coming out on WednesdayI also spoke to one of the contractors MR*** called and he said the paper over the ridge was the only problem he saw and saw no leaks

I would like to reopen this
complaint as to these facts..no one has contacted me from an insurance company claiming to represent va Carolina buildings...a third party did contact me claiming to be a third party adjuster for the supposed insurance company..they set up an appointment to look at the damage..they did not show up for that appointment and when I contacted them they responded that the file had been closed but failed to notify me of the cancellation..so the problems that still remain are the same as day one..the roof is installed improperly..I will include an estimate from a Revdex.com accredited roofing company explaining that..and my interior is still in damaged and open condition ..let me know...*** ***

No offer was made to respond toThe only "offer" was an email from Marie *** on January At that time she stated that if I could come to Crewe and get all of my money back and that I could get someone else to put a roof onShe also left a message on my answering machine about thisI was not home that day and when I called her Tuesday morning, I was informed that the offer was only good on Monday.Virginia Carolina wants to blame the problems on not enough vents or insulationTheir salesman Mark M*** sold me their product after inspecting my roof and atticIt would seem to me that if you did not have enough vents or insulation they would tell you to correct any problems before installing their product.I have spoken to the contractor Marie *** calledHe said they discussed several issues associated with the roofIt is true that there were not any visible leaks the day the contractor was there, but there were several areas that were wet in the atticHe said that he also told informed Marie *** that evidently there are some issues with the valleys of the roofShe neglected to include that information in the reply.I am attaching the emails surrounding Marie *** "offer" to me on behalf of Virginia CarolinaI have never dealt with a company like this.

Regards,
This is a follow up on the complaint filed by myself, ***
*** against VA Carolina BuildingsTheir response to the complaint is that
the work is finished and that I just don’t want to payThat’s correctI don’t
want to pay because they are severely over charging me for poor serviceThe whole
ordeal has been poorly handled by their businessIncluding in this fax I have
the original contract, the cost invoice, and a reputable website’s estimate of
the same job they did at my residence, with a low and high price range. On the original contract the roof is clearly statedWe agreed
on that price and the job completedThe only complaint I have with the roof is
that they didn’t do what they advertised they’d doI’m not making a huge deal about
it because I was assured the roof wouldn’t leakI have an area on the roof
when the shingles were pushed upThere’s a good size area on my kitchen
ceiling that clearly shows leakageThey were supposed to gut out that area,
shingles and the plywoodVA Carolina Buildings stated to me that they allowed
plywood pieces of repair, after that the Home owner or insurance is
responsibleThey did not replace that plywood or the shinglesThey were right
over top of the damaged areaNow there’s a big ugly hump there, where the poor
quality of work was doneEven so, I agreed to pay the full price for the work
and I’m not going to fight the cost of the roof jobAs for the siding job they
didI’ve already sent in a complaint, reporting the poor service and work the
company gave meBut what I didn’t report is the pricing side of this*** on
the original contract the siding job cost is left blankThe reason for that
was because VA Carolina Buildings had to price the material firstI asked
multiple times from that day I signed onward, how much is this siding job going
to costI was assured by the project manager over and over to rest easy, because
it wouldn’t be more than what the insurance was payingIf it was, it wouldn’t
be much, and there would be a supplement sent in to get more money from the insurance
companyI have a text message to the project manager saved that states, “I
need to know what this is going to cost.” He replied, “He had to price the
materials and he would let me know.” After asking several times, not once did
anyone tell me a priceNot onceI got the price of the siding job after the
job was completedThe invoice that’s *** is dated 6-9-This means
that the materials were priced on that date or beforeFrom 6-9-until
7-16-I was unaware of the cost of this jobOn 7-16-2015, the day after
the siding job was completed, the invoice was mailed to me, of which I saw the
cost for the first timeThe cost for the siding job was 5,over insurance
budgetIf the price had been told to me when it should have been, VA Carolina
Building would not have done my sidingThis is an overpriced number that the
*** estimated that I *** showsI am currently calling around asking
for professional siding companies to come in and give me estimates to redo the
jobI will be including these estimates when I received them all.VA Carolina Buildings is also responsible for the glass
their sub-contractors busted out of our vanAs of now we cannot find the
glassWe have checked several salvage yards despite not wanting to even go
that routeNo one seems to have itWe will keep trying.Today I also spoke with *** *** is a head of ***
*** *** *** *** is my insurance company that gave the quote
for my damagesDespite what the project manager of VA Carolina Buildings says,
she says that me adjuster did allow for a complete siding replacement to my
entire homeShe spoke with my adjuster today in hopes of maybe they made a mistake
somehow, but noShe said that VA Carolina buildings definitely over chargedThe
estimate I *** clearly shows thatAlso, on the estimate I ***, it does say
that a 15-23% markup can be added if a supervisor is there for the jobVA
Carolina Buildings has a project managerThere was no supervisor hereHe only
came to my residence when I had an issue, and to complain to me, asking me why I
contacted the Revdex.comI took several pictures of how they left
my residence unfinished and poorly constructed for over a full weekHe saw the
poor quality of work and had no issues with the work
See attached

Please find attached the permit and approval notice for this jobVirginia Carolina Builders is willing and able to address all concerns with their customer to satisfied the jobIn order to do this a meeting would need to be set up with the customer and the business to address lingering concerns and set up a completion planThe business is unable to refund work when they have not been given the chance to now work with the customer and resolve the issues.

It is of the utmost importance that Virginia Carolina Buildings, Inc rectify and remedy any and all complaints We have reached out to Ms*** to request that she meet her [project manager at the property to go over any and all issues that she may have We look forward to
hearing from Ms*** and being able to satisfy her concerns in a timely manner

While the company feels that the sales person should not have said that they would do a clean-up, he did in fact say that they would and the company should stand behind their representative. We did have our home owners insurance agent come out and upon inspection they said that it was a excessive condensation problem due to the roof being installed improperlyThe insurance agent said that since the damage was not accidental they could not help us
Regards,
*** ***

Mr*** called me todayI have been on vacation since someone was at his house so I have to get with them and get the pictures so I can see what is going onIt may be a condensation issue

I spoke to him yesterdayMost of his water problem is condensationWe did put a new roof on his trailerWhen we pulled old roof off there were no water leaksI have called insurance company and told him as soon as I have a claim number he can have the information

Ms*** is correct in that her contract was signed on May 16, Her Contract clearly stated that she was to receive a Lifetime Metal Roofover, which is the product which our company provides We had the home measured approximately May 30th, and materials were ordered in the few
days following As this is our busiest time of year and having to work around rain in three different states, it took several weeks for the metal coils in her selected color to arrive and the metal be manufactured per her specific job measurements and requirements Once the material was ready, the installer was dispatched to her for installation The independent contractor, (also notated on signed contract, attempted to contact Ms*** to set up an appointment but his call was not returned On July 21, 2017, not the first week of June as Ms*** stated),the installer had another installation in the area that week and went to Ms***'s home to attempt the installation She told the independent contractor that she now wanted her shingles removed, instead of the Roofover she had signed for He advised her that she would need to contact the office, and he left the material at her home She contacted the office and was told by one of the office members that it was not on her contract to remove the shingles but that we would order the dumpster and there would be an additional charge for the dumpster and for the additional labor to remove the shingles She demanded to not be charged additional or that she would cancel the job The owner of Virginia Carolina Buildings, Incspoke with Ms*** and told her that we would remove the shingles and order the dumpster at no additional charge, but we would have to wait until the dumpster arrived and until the independent contractor for her area was freed up again to come back for the installation and at that time she agreed We ordered the dumpster the same day, 7/21/17, costing the company $*** The dumpster was delivered to her home and the contractor went back for installation on July 26, Upon arrival Ms*** asked him to see the building permit As per our signed contract it clearly states"Customer is responsible for permits, zoning, and other county/neighborhood association requirements." She contacted the office and I told her that per the contract it was her responsibility to contact any necessary authorities to find out if her county or homeowners association if applicable required any permits and obtain them if necessary It was explained to her that if her county did in fact require one it would take her a matter of minutes or hours to to go in person and obtain it whereas if we had to do it, it could take some time as it would have to be done by mail Again, MrB*** told her we would get the permit for her, by mail, and not charge her for the permit fee We contacted the Orangeburg County Building Inspector Office, and had the permit application faxed over I mailed out the application with the required fee of $*** the same day, July 26, The permit was received from Orangeburg County Building Inspectors Office on August 1, The contractor was contacted to get a time frame of when he would be available to go back A few hours later, Ms*** called into the office to complain that it had been over weeks since we had ordered the permit and she hadn't heard from anyone so she wanted to cancel her order (Note: July was a Wednesday and August was the following Tuesday, clearly not two weeks I personally, consider this a record time frame for obtaining a building permit from any county via mail) I tried to explain to her that it had only been a week and that the permit had just arrived that morning I told her that I had contacted the contractor to get a time frame of when he would be able to get back to her installation and was awaiting his response before I contacted her to let her, so that I could also let her know when he would returnShe said that I should have dropped everything and contacted her the moment it arrived and that I should be able to tell her when he was returning without hearing from him first Again, Ms*** wanted to cancel her contract, due to the fact that it had been "two weeks" since she had requested we obtain the permit At this point, with our company having incurred over $*** in expenses, I attempted to explain to her, (and with her **reaming in my ear I did have to raise my voice in an attempt to be heard over her), that she had signed a legal and binding contract that states she has three days of signing the contract It also states that if it is cancelled after that time she is responsible for all costs incurred Tat we had been trying to work with her and had given her everything she had asked for at no additional charge and that if she would just calm down her roof could be on within a week and it would all be behind her She insisted that she was cancelling the contract Ms*** then mailed in a letter, dated August 4, that she was reporting us to the *** *** Contractors Board, stating that we were not licensed to work in *** *** and was therefore, officially cancelling her contract I mailed her back a copy of our Contracts License, #***, for *** *** that was originally issued on 9/4/and currently expires on 10/31/ The independent contractor was dispatched to pick up her material from her home the first week of August, however his transmission went out in his truck and he was not able to pick it up until August 16, Considering it was delivered on July 21, and picked up on August 16, it was obviously not in Ms***'s yard for two months as she states in her complaint Her complaint was filed on August 23, in which she states that the material is still in her yard, also untrue since it was picked up last week. In the several phone calls over that time period that we received from Ms***, she was rude and abusive to everyone that she spoke with here in the office, a total of five people including MrB*** and myself and behaved in the same manner to the independent contractor who was hired to perform her installation We paid someone to come measure her home, we paid for all of the metal and other materials for her roof, (which cannot be reused as they are such a short length that they are not long enough for most homes), we paid someone to cut and manufacture the material to her house homes specification, We paid the independent contractor to make two separate trips to her home to attempt the installation, and then again to pick it back up, we paid for the dumpster, we paid for the permit etctotaling over $*** in attempt to please Ms*** to no avail Ms*** was provided with copies of her signed contract which clearly states all of her obligations and rights as the buyer It is obvious that not only did Ms*** not read her contract either before or after she signed it but has no issues with falsifying facts, as her allegations in her complaint are completely false, and have copies of all documentation including dates of orders, and checks written for all expenses As I mention earlier, this is our busy time of year Our contractors are working days a week and I am working hour days so not only do I not have time to listen to Ms*** yell and **ream accusations in my ear, while we are only trying to help her fix her roof, I also do not have time to dispute accusations to the Revdex.com by Ms***, which could potentially damage the company As per company policy, and as we have a signed contract and proven documentation of all expenses and all encounters with Ms***, we are currently seeking legal action to recover our losses As her accusations have now been made public, that will be handled in the same fashion

Mr*** is correct His new metal roof was installed and completed on June 9th and he promptly paid the bill as per his contract terms Mr*** also made us aware on several occasions that the dump trailer was still at his property and needed to be removed
Unfortunately, we only have one truck that can haul that heavy trailer (especially fully loaded with roofing material), and that truck was out of town on another job for the past two weeks The truck was returned to us yesterday evening, (6/21), and I pulled a few guys out of the shop and had them go pick up the dump trailer from Mr***s home this afternoon As with many things in life, sometimes unforeseen circumstances arise that cause delays, and we greatly appreciate Mr***s patience in this matter

There is no dispute that a building permit was obtainedVA Carolina Buildings state they are unable to refund work when they have not been given the chance to now work with the customer and resolve issues. We have tried working with VA Carolina buildings through phone calls, letters, and pictures with no direct response from them. Although they did send their contractors back to our property twice without our knowledge. They have had several chances to resolve the issues. Coming back and trying to patch and caulk does not fix the issues. We want to move forward and hire a contractor to remove and reinstall this roof correctly
