Virginia Gun Safety Reviews (2)

5/30/2015Dear [redacted],
I am responding to your letter dated May 18, 2015, which we received May 26, 2015. My name is Tony M[redacted], and I am the General Manager here at Virginia Gun Safety (VGS).
This complaint involves a customer special order firearm, his deposit, and...

subsequent refund. Please allow me to provide some details, along with a timeline of events:April 2014 - Customer contacted us requested a special order revolver. While this revolver is listed as a current manufacture, production is extremely limited. We made this point abundantly clear to the customer.
May 3, 2014 - after some discussion regarding the particulars, we placed the order with our vendor, and received his deposit of $300.
June 2014 thur March 2015 - customer checked in frequently on status. Our repeated response was the revolver was not in stock. We reminded the customer that production on this particular revolver was very limited.
February 27, 2015 - Customer sent us an email stating he had contacted other dealers and they confirmed that production of the revolver is extremely backlogged.
March 18, 2015 - Customer asked us to cancel his order and refund his deposit.
April 20, 2015 - refund check was written and mailed.
April 29, 2015 - refund check cleared our bank.
Our policy is refunds are issued within 60 days of the request. Our policy is listed on our web site ([redacted]). I can see how the customer may not have interpreted our policy correctly because it  refers mainly to our training courses. We will update our policy to make things more clear once this matter is resolved. His refund was issued 23 business days after his initial request.
We feel that his complaint is without merit, based on our timely issuing of his refund, in accordance with our published refund policy. We appreciate your best efforts to ensure that this complaint is resolved in a positive manner. Please keep me posted regarding the status of this issue. Feel free to email me at [redacted]@Vagunsafety.com if you have any further questions.
Sincerely,
Tony M. General Manager
