We received the complaint regarding damages alleged during the moveWe apologize for this and have referred the customer to the claims company to process this claimThe claims company is moving claims.netTrucks must be packed as tightly as possible to prevent damagesThe looser a load is packed, the more jostling occurs to items causing greater damages.Obviously two large box trucks were not required to complete this moveWe quoted a flat rate, regardless of weight, and completed the move. The difference in price from the 18ft box truck to go up to a 26ft box truck is $100.We will refund the difference in cost for the size of the trucks if this resolves this issue for the customer. We recommend the customer be patient and complete the claims process as required by lawThe damage issue is in the hands of the customer to file and respond to the claims company. We understand the customers frustrations about the issues with this moveWe have applied appropriate disciplinary actions internally to the captain who did not properly protect the damaged furniture when he ran out of blankets. We are committed to doing our best each day.SincerelyEkoMovers

Hi ***, We apologize and regret that there were issues on your move. Our liability is per pound to assist in repairing damagesYou did not purchase full value replacement insurance from usIf you purchased it from someone else-like an insurance agency, you would need to make a
claim with them. *** has our insurance policies as well as thousands of other moversThey determine our liability based on contracts, insurance purchased, and the per pound for damage and repair, which was set by the Congress of the United States. We understand that many customers wish to collect full value replacement for damagesIf an item can be repaired or when no additional insurance has been purchased, it falls under the per pound coverage. We truly wish you the best.Sincerely RandyEkoMovers Tell us why here

I have attached all requested documentation here. I do not have a copy of the signed contract, and I don't remember ever signing it. The only signature that I made on the receipts is the "[redacted]" ~ all others were written by EkoMovers staff. There is no final acceptance of the cargo, just a receipt that someone wrote "Paid" on. I have photos that can be provided of the lost and damaged items, if necessary. Emails and notes from texts and phone calls regarding the move are included as well.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
As I mentioned in my complaint, this complaint was not about an accidental damage occurred - As I detailed, this damage occurred because of sheer negligence/carelessness and unprofessional work attitude of an individual (mover) that led to an easily avoidable incident that lost a $750 value furniture. If the business want to write it off as an "accidental damage", that shows the character of a company who just don't take pride in their service. If the business value the customer and would like the positive review and recommendations of someone who in leadership of so many organizations and ethnic communities in the area, I except a respectful and acceptable closure on this issue.

Dear Revdex.com;This complaint is about the over charging on this invoice, not damages to my property. The property damage is significant and is being dealt with separately. The damage was due to the overpacking and cramming of our belongings into a smaller truck when a larger truck (24' vs 17') was appropriated for the job. The 24' truck broke down and a 17' was rushed into duty.... this can be verified with the Eko manager on this job who quoted it. His name is Tim Ellis (682-333-3759)The damages to all of our stuff will be handled through the Eko insurance company and is currently being handled as we unpack. The damage is significant andTim was the one who supplied SOME of the pictures of the damaged belongings.  BTW, this job was quoted by Tim at $4400.00 per 24' truck. THUS THE $8800.00 invoice attached. Thanks you for your time and consideration. Dan [redacted]  512-517-5141

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.   The move cost $8800.00 total for two 24' trucks( a 24 and a 17 was used). The Eko  employee who quoted this move was adamant about this. The packers were out of space and even leased a small single axel [redacted] trailer to haul behind one of the trucks (which was awkward). Both trucks were completely packed, as was this small [redacted] trailer. The difference between 24' and 17' is simple math.... $8800.00 divided by 48' = 183.33....183.33 X 7' = 1283.31.Further, we moved from a 5 bedroom 4700 sq ft home with three garages to a 6 bedroom home 1500 miles away ($100 difference, really!) Two 24' trucks, AS QUOTED and paid for, was mandatory....and yes the damages were considerable. I watched these trucks crammed to the point that a small [redacted] trailer was procured, as they simply ran out of space.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  The business should have made a better effort to address my request to come and repack the storage unit immediately so that I could see the condition of my belongings rather than when time allowed on their end ~  it should've been scheduled just as the move was scheduled, but  since there was no money in it for them it appeared that it was not deemed a priority,  especially since I sent photos showing how the storage unit had been packed and damage that had been done that I could already see just from the front of the unit. Customer service was great on the front end to get me back in the door but on the back end on this move they didn't care. They tried to  get me to complete a claim but I couldn't as I could not see the items since they were crammed into a storage unit. Their claims process is useless at this point. A flat monetary settlement to replace the items that they broke, ruined, or lost is the only resolution I will accept. Additionally, the person who received the items was not offered an opportunity to look in the truck again, in fact when she asked if there was anything left in the truck she was told that there were things in there that were left over from a previous move that the truck had been used for (since the company does not have their own fleet and contracts their trucks by the move). What happened to the items that did not make it into the storage unit? They are either located in the [redacted] office or were thrown away, neither of which is acceptable. This person was not given a receipt from the transaction so if the company has something which states that she agreed that everything was as it was supposed to be, it is not in my possession.  A few of many photos available are attached to show the condition of items taken out of the storage unit.
Regards,
[redacted]
