Virginia Professional Wildlife Removal Services Reviews (2)

Review: I hired this company to remove moles from my property. I paid them in advance $225.00. they laid some traps and said we'll be back in a couple days. two weeks went by and call them to find out when they will return. they came and check the traps and found nothing. they re set the trays and said where be back in a few days. After another two weeks they show up and found no moles. they again reset the traps and said they will return in a few days. I instructed them to let me know when they were coming, because I want to be their checking the traps. When they return on their last visit they didn't call and I was home. They came didn't ring the door bell, they took their traps and left. They didn't catch any moles and I think they should return my money. I contracted them to remove moles and they didn't do what I paid them to do. I'am very disappointed in their service's.Desired Settlement: I would like them to return most of my money, since they didn't Remove any Moles from my property. I'am trying to stay out the courts with this matter.

Response:

Dear Sir or Madam:

I have reviewed the complaint filed by [redacted] concerning this matter and disagree with his representation of the facts.

Our company provides 14-days of mole trapping services for most lawns; more if the lawn is larger or if the customer's property is located outside our normal coverage area. [redacted] hired us to provide the 14-days of mole trapping services with the understanding that trapping, like hunting or fishing, is never a sure thing and that we never offer a guarantee that we will catch anything - animals die, are killed or move on.

Two of our technicians ([redacted]) showed up at [redacted] home on April 24, 2014, as agreed, to set the mole traps. [redacted]'s home is located approximately 113 miles round trip from our office. Upon our arrival, [redacted] indicated that he was having second thoughts about spending the $225 forl4-days of mole trapping services. He finally agreed that he wanted us to set the traps. Our technicians set a total of 30-mole traps on his property, again explained to him that there were no guarantees with trapping and that we would check the traps periodically throughout the I4-days of mole trapping and add/remove/move traps based upon our observations during each visit. We also advised [redacted] that we did not, as a matter of practice, contact the customer during each visit - we did

speak with him on several visits and he was not home on some of the other visits. [redacted] was advised that most lawns only have 1-2 moles, but that resolving any animal problem involves a partnership between us and our customers. For his part, we asked that he treat his lawn with a grubicide to help eliminate a primary food source for the moles. From April 24, 2014 through June 4,2014, [redacted] had still not applied a grubicide to his lawn.

We provided [redacted] with a total of 42-days of mole trapping services - April 24, 2014 through June 4,2014 - and removed I-mole. He paid for only 14-days of trapping services, so in essence he received an additional 28-days of mole trapping services at no additional cost to him.

We also made a total of 10 visits to his home for a total distance travelled of approximately 1,130 miles. If you use mileage alone as an indicator and using the government rate of .56 cents per mile, travel alone for this job is approximately $632.80 and this does not include labor and other expenses.

As a recap:

I. We did not guarantee any catches - we caught I-mole.

2. [redacted] was told that he would receive 14-days of mole trapping services for $225

He received 42-days of mole trapping services at no extra charge for the additional 28 days.

3. [redacted] was told at our initial visit to apply a grubicide to his yard - He

never applied the grubicide.

4. We never told [redacted] that we would be back on a specific date, but instead told him we would check the traps periodically throughout the

process. On some occasions [redacted] was home and our technicians spoke to him, on other occasions he was not home, and still on other occasions we did not bother him - which he was told is our normal practice.

5. When [redacted] was told that we had removed a mole from his yard, he accused our technician ([redacted]) of lying and bringing the mole from

another job.

As a company our goal is and has always been to strive for 100% customer satisfaction. We would like for [redacted] to be satisfied as well. While we

are not willing to refund his money, I am willing to provide him with an additional 14-days of mole trapping services as no cost to him in accordance with our practices as outlined above. We would ask that [redacted], for his part, treat his lawn with a grubicide as requested during our initial visit.

If this is acceptable with [redacted] he can contact our office directly at [redacted] to reschedule resetting the mole traps.

Thank you for the opportunity to address [redacted]'s concerns.

Response:

I have reviewed the offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID[redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Regards,

I would like you to reopen my complaint against VPWRS. Nothing has been resolved. I read their response to my complaint and they lied about the service they said they performed at my residence. They said they visited my home 10 times but they were only here 3 times. They said they removed 1 mole and that's a lie, they didn't catch nothing. They came to my home on their last visit took up their trap's and didn't let me know they were out side. My front door was open and they didn't ring the bell. On the two prior visits I inform them not to come without letting me know because I wanted to be there when they check the traps. They haven't contacted me to try to resolve this dispute. Please reopen my complaint and don't let them get away with their lie's and disappointing service's. I will file a lawsuit against this company asap!!! Thank's for consideration. [redacted]

In late April, an animal chose to occupy a small space between the ceiling of a dormer window and the roof on my house. After a totally failed attempt with another company to identify a port of entry or effect any capture, we engaged a roofer who found a large hole in the siding of the dormer at the junction of the dormer roof with the main roof and determined that we were landlords to a mother raccoon with babies. This time we called in the Virginia Professional Wildlife Removal Services, based on a report of a report of success. Two workers, [redacted], arrived promptly. They were clearly knowledgeable, conscientious, skilled, courteous, considerate--and successful in capturing mother raccoon and four six-week old babies. I was extremely impressed with the dispatch with which they handled the problem, with the respect they gave to my home, and with their professionalism. When I reviewed the company's website, I saw the extent of the fine work they do. And, of course, nothing can be more appreciated than success in removing unwonted tenants, as well as ensuing clean-up. I can unreservedly recommend their service for anyone experiencing a wild animal control problem.
