Virginia Railway Express

The VRE is more concerned about money and how many passengers they can load onto the train. The stations are very unsafe and open to young children and young adults to death and danger. They would rather put in more parking than to add a walkway or contain the tracks with a superior fence to keep pedestrains from the tracks. In the Burke Station there is no fencing except a chicken wire that the neighborhood kids keep taking down. There are no signs around the area that used to be the old road behind the Target. The platform fence is open for passengers to go down to the tracks to then cross the tracks to get to the neighborhood. The children in the area use the tracks to cross to go to the ball field and community center in the area of the station. Years ago when moving the old road they chose to put in more parking even though it was set to have a walkway over the tracks to the neighborhood. They will then hit someone and then treat the familys like they should pay them for killing the person they hit. They have many lawyers and money that keep them from taking responsibility for what they did. The law is that they are supposed to slow down where pedestrains cross and they go through that area at full speed with no regards for others. I would never ride or recomend anyone to ride the VRE as they do not care for the safety of their passengers.

our on-line serviceUnfortunately, her lost item report went into VRE's Spam FolderWe had no knowledge of her report until she reached out to us confirming we had received her emailWhen *** *** called asking about her sunglasses, she was asked if she had made a report and she stated yesOne of our Communications Specialists spoke with her when she called and after not being able to see her report on-line, a report was taken over the telephone by that SpecialistLost items found on board our trains are sent over to our main office every day at 10am and 2pmFrom September to this date no *** *** sunglasses were ever foundWhen the Specialist spoke with her on September 28th, she was told no *** *** sunglasses had come into our lost & found.Virginia Railway Express is not responsible for items left on the trains by passengers (see attached), therefore, the VRE cannot reimburse or replace *** ***'s sunglassesSincerely,Brenda T
