Complaint: I am rejecting this response because: This company ignored my initial complaints about the virtual backgroundI have been trying to resolve my issue with them for a monthThe owner Henry Oles kept insisting that I purchase his books in addition to under the system ignoring my original complaintFinally Henry told me to send the machine back in his e-mail which I have documented so there was no need for a scheduled appointment to bring back the machineI also have noted in my emails that I asked when can the machine be brought in and they told me Tues-Thursday, which is also noted in my emailsThey were evading me through emails for a whole month so setting an appointment would have probably taken another monthI have attached some of the email correspondence that has taken place via e-mail since they would not pick up the phone and speak with me directlyOnce I dropped the equipment, the representative took several hours trying to convince me to keep the machineOnce he realized he could not, he was upset and he signed my paperwork after inspecting the machine and told me that I had to receive the refund from the ownerHowever they were playing one against the owner because the owner was stating that I needed to speak to my rep to receive my refundSo I knew that something was fishy when I did not get a straight answerAfter leaving the equipment I sent an email inquiring about my refund and the owner stated that I will not get a refund and that I have months to think about coming to get it or they will keep it Regards, Cassandra Johnson

for her professional photography studio using our interest free lease/purchase plan which we have used with our customers for many years to help them acquire our studio background system without a credit check and without interestIt is clearly a lease arrangement until the final payment plus $is made at which time the equipment becomes their ownOur contract, copy enclosed, is a standard photography equipment lease contract used by many companies that lease equipment.*** came to our demonstration center in San Marcos for a detailed demonstration of the system before she decided to make a lease purchase, Not only did she see the system work, she also used it herself, She also saw hundreds of sample images created by photographers from around the world using the equipment,Virtual Backgrounds has manufactured this background creation equipment since with numerous revisions as technology advanced, It has been sold to professional photographers from every part of the world*** chose a digital system that projects backgrounds on to a special extremely reflective screen, Information about this product can be found on our web site, *** , We have always made it a practice to provide system owners with a wide variety of learning materials including several books that I have written coupled with phone and personal support and training.A virtual background system is a tool, just like a camera, that requires participation by the photographerIt is more than pushing a buttonIt is a highly professional tool just like a camera that is being used professionallyThe customer has issued a variety of complaints unlike any that we have ever heard before.First she complained that it takes her too long to attach and remove her camera to the projectorIn reality, the camera attaches to a quick release and can be attached or removed in seconds, Never before have we had to explain to a customer how to attach and remove their camera but she refuses to comprehend or accept our demonstrations and explanationsThen she complained that it takes too long to align the systemIn reality, alignment is automatic unless she changes to a different make or model camera at which time it may take a minute or two to align the camera to the projectorShe then complained that she could not do full length work because her camera room is not large enough to get far enough from the subject but in reality, she has plenty of roomWhen she complained that her pictures did not look like the ones she saw here, that is simply a matter of the capability of the photographer in how they use the equipment, She finally did submit a couple of pictures that showed the equipment was working fine but she chose to use background probably grabbed off the internet that we considered to be very poor and the posing of the subject was not good.The contract she signed is a lease contract with an initial down payment and then monthly credit card payments for months plus $1,at which time the equipment becomes hers,The customer drove in from Houston without an appointment and left the equipment with her representative who just happened to be hereAfterwards, I made a special offer to her that we would hold her equipment here intact for months so she could have the opportunity to reconsider and potentially take back the equipment with the payment of her remaining payments without penalty at which time she could put it to use in her studio or resell it, There is no return policy on equipment thatis leased other than warranty service if there were a technical problem, We did stop collecting all lease payments from the point where the equipment was returnedHer representative would be willing to work with her to again show her how to use the equipment.Enclosed is a copy of the lease contract the customer signe as well as copies of communications with the customer including a listing of her complaints and her own statement that she would essentially not have a problem if it were possible to take the camera on and off quickly

The customer purchased the professional studio background system on a lease purchase plan as per the attached contract after having a complete demonstration and basic training She operated the system herself and then placed an order The customer’s complaints are completely unfounded such as it takes too long to remove and replace the camera from our system It takes seconds We have never had a complaint like this There is no need to realign the system after removing and replacing the camera It is true that the sample pictures she sent for review are not nearly as good as anything we show but our system is a tool just like a camera The quality of the results are totally dependent on the operator It is also not true that I suggested she purchase my books. They are available free on the web site. *** This company has always emphasized assisting our customers but her representative reported that she was absolutely unwilling to listen The customer’s best options are to learn to use the equipment and put it to use for her business but she is probably far too emotional to do that Her second choice is to resell it after completing the lease purchase contract Since she has already applied to the credit card company for a refund, we cannot offer any kind of resolution until that is settled *** *** ***
