As I stated in the initial responseThe customer was informed that the radiator had an obvious coolant leakThe customer was also informed that their may be other concerns, but the radiator would have to be replaced and further evaluation would need to take place. After the radiator was replaced, the system was fully pressurized and it was determined that the cylinder head gasket(s) were damaged because of the initial overheating of the engine. Lamb's Tire and automotive is not responsible for this component failure and will not offer a refund for the work that has already been completed

To whom it may concern, On 3/17/*** *** brought his Buick Enclave to us for an oil change and to see why his check engine light was onWe diagnosed the check engine light as a failed purge valve (code PSmall Evap Leak)We performed the oil change and did a multi-point inspection
It was at that time that we discovered that the brakes were worn and needed to be replacedIn addition, we found both the front and rear motor mounts broken and several maintenance items that needed attentionWe called *** *** with an estimate and he authorized a portion of the needed service including repairing the purge valve and the front brakesThe total for all the work we performed was in the amount of $(the purge valve and brake repair made up $555.63)On 4/10/*** *** returned with his vehicle stating that the check engine light was on again and the brakes were making a noiseWe scanned the onboard computer and found code PLarge Evaporative LeakWe tested the purge valve and found it operating as designedThis code (P0445) is typical of the gas cap being left loose or not reinstalledWe reset the light at no charge to the customer and test drove to check the brakesThe tech test drove four miles stopping and starting but heard no unusual noisesWe checked the pads for proper installation and found all normalOn 4/19/*** *** brought his vehicle in stating that he must push the brake pedal to the floor to get it to stopWe brought vehicle into the shop and checked the hydraulic system carefullyThe brake pedal going to the floor is not related to the replacement of brake pads but rather a hydraulic issueFor example, a master cylinder failure or a leak within the pressurized portion of the brake system would cause a low pedalWe found no leaks or failures within the system and felt no issues with performance during a five mile road testThe brake pedal had travel and operated as designedLamb’s Tire and Auto is in the service businessWe service hundreds of cars everyday here in the Austin areaWhile we strive for perfection we are human tooI think we do a great job satisfying customers even when we fumble the ballWe value *** ***’s business and are willing to address the concerns that he may have with the work performedIf *** *** would like to reach out to me directly I’ll be happy to have the vehicle checkedWe will need to schedule a time when he is available to test drive with one of our master technicians to show them his concern*** *** *** ***

Contacted customer and instructed her that if she brought us the starter, we would install at no chargeThis is repair is now in process

This customer came into our Pflugerville location in June of 2016. Our technician attempted to remove the oil drain plug but immediately found that the oil drain plug had been stripped previous to the vehicle being brought to our location. The customer was brought out to the shop and was shown the...

concern with the oil drain plug. The customer advised that she would be taking the vehicle back to the business that had performed her last oil change. The tamper seal was broken as a result of our attempting to remove the drain plug. Lamb's Tire and Automotive is not responsible for the concern, and as such will not be paying the customer for the repair she had performed.    Tell us why here...

This customer will have the entire amount they were charged refunded to her. The AC diagnosis is FREE , that means that if after diagnosing the problem the customer declined repair, we do not charge. a Full refund will be processed back to the customer.

Obviously some miscommunication on this transaction. The customer was refunded the difference and as a gesture of goodwill, Lamb's extended an offer of a tire road hazard warranty for up to three years for this customer. Customer agreed to this and indicated she was satisfied with the outcome of her...

concern.

I am rejecting this response because: the car had repeat problems. I am not a mechanic, I dropped off for diagnosis and it was not diagnosed. I was called and told that was the resolution to my car. It was not. How can I "evaluate" the resolution you offered if I am not a certified mechanic? It was your job to tell me what the problem was with the car, if I could diagnose the car myself do you think I would need to drop it off with your company? That response makes zero sense.

Customer was contacted by store manger. Store manager is going to buy the replacement parts and install them on the customer vehicle as a goodwill gesture.

As the customer stated. The engine was replaced prior to the companies insurance adjuster looking at the vehicle. No fault could be determined and as such the claim was denied.

Customer brought vehicle in with an engine overheating concern. Vehicle radiator had an obvious leak. Customer was advised that the radiator would need to replaced and the vehicle would need to be further evaluated after this repair was completed. After installation of the radiator was completed,...

vehicle was test driven and showed signs of cylinder head gasket failure. Customer is correct in saying that there was no way of knowing if this would occur until after the radiator was replaced, and the system was completely pressured. Unfortunate situation, but Lamb's Tire and Automotive is not liable for the vehicle breakdown. Lamb's advised of initial concern, advised customer that the initial concern would have to be addressed before any other failures could be identified. Customer had the opportunity before any work was started to evaluate the situation and make a decision. The customer chose to proceed with the initial repair, and unfortunately other concerns came up after the radiator was replace.

At Lamb's Tire and Automotive, we value our customers and the relationship we have with them. This customer was concerned that the Kelly brand Tires ( A Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company Product) he purchased were wearing prematurely. All warranties are administrated through Goodyear and as such...

the Tires would need to be inspected through the Goodyear warranty processing center. The customer was instructed that the tires would need to removed from the vehicle and sent in to the processing center for inspection. Goodyear may request that the customer provide proof that the tires have been rotated per the manufacturers specification, and as such he was asked to provide evidence that this had been done. The customer is in no way obligated to purchase tires from Lamb's during this process. Again the warranty is through the manufacturer, not Lamb's Tire and Automotive. If Goodyear agrees with the customer on this the manufacturer will refund a prorated amount to the customer directly. the customer is in no way obligated to purchase tires from Lamb's.

Customer brought vehicle in with multiple concerns 12/29/2017.Check engine light was on, ABS and traction Control Lights on. Repairs: ABS Light and Traction control lightDiagnostics indicated the EBTC module faulty. EBCT module was replaced, after installation the ABS light would come on and go...

off. . Customer advised that he may need and additional part (ABS Pump) if this concern persist. During test drive Traction control light was off, but ABS light came on and off. Customer picked up the vehicle and experienced concern with traction control light and ABS concern. Customer returned (12/30/2017) and wanted his old part installed, Lamb's advised the part was faulty, and the old part had been returned to the dealer for core credit. Lamb's does not "sell" old parts back to the dealerships, we simply return them as core parts. If we did not return the old part, customer would have been responsible for paying the $500.00 core fee.I feel that Lamb's should have told the customer that he needed both parts to repair his vehicle. Store manager [redacted] also agreed with this and installed the additional part on the vehicle at NO CHARGE to the customer. By installing this additional part, the ABS / Traction control light concerns are now repaired.Repairs: Check Engine Light On.Diagnostics indicated a faulty canister vent valve, oxygen sensor and gas cap. These parts were installed. Customer returned (01/05/18) 6 days and 287 miles later with a check engine light concern. Diagnostics indicated a faulty EVAP system purge valve. This part was installed at NO CHARGE to the customer. Additional repairs and maintenance:12/29/2017: 1. Right Front Wheel bearing was replaced (faulty and making noise) 2. Fuel System Service Performed (Maintenance) This customer is indicating that the check engine light has come on again, he does not want to return to the shop so that we can look into this concern, and is asking that he be refunded the entire amount of money he spent on the various repairs dated 12/29/2018. It is Lamb's opinion that the ABS/Traction control concerns have been repaired. Both the customer and Lamb's participated in the cost of this repair and as such Lamb's respectfully declines any additional refund on these items. The customer also had a wheel bearing ( faulty , making noise) replaced as well as a fuel system service performed (Maintenance). Lamb's also declines any refund on these repairs and maintenance. In regard to the Check Engine Light concern, Lamb's offers to further diagnose this concern for the customer. If the customer declines this offer, Lamb's will refund him $710.82. This dollar amount reflects the total amount spent by the customer in an effort to correct the Check Engine light concern.Signed[redacted]Lamb Ventures LLC.

Lamb's tire and automotive turned this claim over to our insurance carrier. The insurance carrier found no liability and as such has denied the claim. No further action forthcoming.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: Lamb's tried to get away with paying for a portion of the engine. They knew they were at fault. After being informed by my Insurer and Hyundai, that their offer was unacceptable, due to possible future issues, they now decided that their insurance denial should be the final word. Lamb's should do the right thing, and refund me my money, just from a business point of view. I'm not trying to rip them off, they are ripping me off

After researching this situation I found that the overall facts in this case are true. This customer did come in for A/C repairs on two different occasions, and had two different components related to the air conditioning system replaced. This is a situation that is difficult for both the repair...

facility and the customer. When an A/C concern is evaluated we determine the source of the concern and repair what is happening AT THAT TIME. if we find the compressor is bad for instance , we would just replace that component along with the associated parts needed for that repair. In this case, we replaced the evaporator core, because it was leaking. This fixed the A/C concern, but later the Compressor failed. If we were to suggest that every single component should be replaced every time a customer comes in with an A/C concern, we would be accused of overselling. This is the reason we only suggest the component we verify as bad be replaced. At the time of the initial repair, the compressor was functioning normally. At a later date, the compressor failed. Both of these repairs were warranted. The customer does not indicate if they had to pay for the compressor again, if so this should have been covered under a parts warranty. Lamb's Agrees to refund this customer $500.00 as a gesture of goodwill.
