Initial Business Response /* (1000, 11, 2016/05/30) */
***
I the contractor - R*** Developments Ltd have tried unsuccessfully to resolve the issue with the complaintants - the ***sI
contacted the supplier/installer of the floor - ***, and they agreed to correct the issue by replacing the defective floor boardsIt is my understanding that *** has contacted the homeowners directly and has made numerous attempts to set up appointments to replace the defective flooringThe Homeowner has either cancelled the appointments made making repairs and or replacement of the floor impossibleOn one occasion the installer was allowed in the home but not allowed to proceed to make any repairs
I as the contractor feel that many reasonable attempts have been made on my part to correct and rectify the situationIt is my belief that the homeowners are NOT interested in having the floor replaced but only are looking for cash compensation - the flooring really doesn't seem to be the issueAs far as I am concerned I as the contractor have taken responsibility to repair/replace the floor and no further action will be taken on my part

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 13, 2016/05/31) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
We asked both *** and *** to provide us with a 'list of options' in writing to resolve this matter; Neither business has provided us with a list of options to resolve this matter;
so we disagree with his statement, "I have tried unsuccessfully to resolve the issue with the complaintants"; *** and *** need to provide us 'options' in writing, so that everyone is clear and understands what options there are; to date neither business has provided us with this list; we do not believe it is unreasonable to ask these business for options in writing;
***
*** has not made 'numerous' attempts to set up appointments; that statement is not true;
*** claims, "On one occasion the installer was allowed in the home but not allowed to proceed to make any repairs"; the installer was the professional who advised us that 'he had never replaced this many defective boards" and that he felt that our brand new floor "would be even worse" if we had "that many boards replaced";
directly after we were informed of this info we went to *** with the 'installer' to discuss the issue; at this meeting *** advised us twice that if we went ahead with replacing the 70-boards, and at the end of that we weren't satisfied with the 'fix'; *** would replace the entire floor with new flooring; immediately after that meeting, we phoned*** direct, spoke with the rep that we had dealt with, he advised that they absolutely would not 'replace the entire floor with new flooring' if we were unsatisfied with the 'fix'; this is the point where we filed the complaint with the Revdex.com;
*** says, "I as the contractor feel that many reasonable attempts have been made on my part to correct and rectify the situationIt is my belief that the homeowners are NOT interested in having the floor replaced but only are looking for cash compensation - the flooring really doesn't seem to be the issue."
*** has not made the 'reasonable' effort to provide us with 'written options' as we have requested;
***'s suggestion that the "homeowners are NOT intertested in having the floor replaced but are only looking for cash" is absurd; The flooring is absolutely an issue; we are left with 'flawed' and 'defective' flooring in every room of our brand new home;
What *** and *** are NOT intertested in is providing 'written options' that we can review and make a decision on based on their list of options;
Infact in the information we sent last week to both businesses we state, "If one of the options is to 'replace' 70-'flawed' boards, the businesses need to detail in writing, the steps they will take to curtail the impact from sawing and removing 70-hardwood boards";
Neither *** or *** will provide us the information we are requesting regarding the 'prep and clean up of replacing 70-boards, in writing
