OMG! I can't believe how great Vitacost.com is!! I put in an order on Sunday (12/27/2015); and I already received my package this morning at 10:AM!!! Furthermore, their price is very competitive compare to other online companies I will definitely be their regular customer from hereon!! Keep it up, Vitacost.com!! ***

I have always found these folks to be honest, accurate, and to have customer service you can depend onTheir selection is great, ranging from coconut oil to skin lotionAnd their prices, though not necessarily the absolute cheapest, are the best of anyone not operating out of their unheated garageKeep up the good work

I've started ordering from this company about years ago, here and thereLately, I've had the need to order from them much more, on a biweekly basis after comparing prices, they were the best After multiple orders, I've made two mistakes on details of my orders but they've taken care of me both times! First time, I meant to order shampoo but carelessly ordered conditionersSo, I got to their site and chatted with a customer service and within seconds a rep helped me outI thought, man this is so convenient and they're response is FAST & FRIENDLYIn fact, I ended up with free conditioners Then this week, I contacted them again because I thought my order didn't arrive as expectedIt actually did come in right after I chatted with the rep, I was just impatient (got spoiled with one day shipping)They took care of it in a speedy mannerI'll just leave it here because this is getting really long, but I just want to say, I've NEVER experienced such customer service as I have with them AWESOME company with AWESOME price and customer serviceOne more awesomeness, their shipping is only a day or two !!

I've been buying from Vitacost for a number of years nowI am gluten-freeIn my last sizable order, I purchased lbs of flour, I thought was gluten-free It was not This was clearly MY mistake, that I owned Nevertheless, as a one time special consideration, they refunded my money, AND had me keep the flourEssentially that was $worth of consideration!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What other company does that? PLUS my packages arrived in ONE day.....with the most considerate packaging I've ever seen Bottled hand soaps, liquids, & items in paper bags & boxes (like flour or starches) were also placed in re-useable sealed plastic bags, to eliminate the possibility of loss/mess/seepageThose bags were not flimsy but extremely durable & functional to insure the safety of the product contained Those are my idea of Great Business Practices Mighty Impressive!

I will certainly give Vitacost my business and will tell others how great they are to deal with...I ordered an item and it got lost for a couple of weeks, so when I did get it I emailed this company and asked for a return.....they credited my card in the full amount including the postage I pd, and told me to keep the product as well....what a refreshing experience....they are Great!!!

7/29/14Placed order online Immediately followed up with a mes sage asking for confirmation that order (mostly pricey fair trade organic chocolate and nut flour perishables) would be mailed with ice pack Crucial since I am in Florida Asked for order to be canceled if they don't include ice pack
*** from Vitacost replied that "We only package certain items that require a temperature be maintained for potency with an ice packThese items are denoted by a snowflake icon on our website." Vague answer sending directing me on wild goose chase to look for snowflakes in their website
Same day I emailed back explaining that I need order cancelled if they are unable to include ice pack Explained that I was not trying to be difficult but chocolate will melt outside in five minutes in our heat, and that all orders I placed during cooler months I made no such a request This in hopes they would realize this was not just something I wanted but something necessary
I also was very clear to the fact that ingredients are to cater a birthday party and I'd need to know whether they'd cancel order (and refund my card) or would mail it with ice per my request I told them that I needed to place order elsewhere asap
This particular message included a CC to *** *** (Customer Service Manager)
Today as of PM I still had no answer
I called their number and spoke with *** I thought I was getting somewhere when she asked what items I wanted with an ice pack ("The chocolate chips, of course, and the nut flours as they will become rancid and carcinogenic when exposed to heat," I explained) She then said "We ONLY mail probiotics with an icepack Nothing else." I told her that it would have been lovely if *** or anyone had informed me of this from the start I also asked for a refund She refused saying that they could not process a refund until the items were back in their possesion It was then when I found out that the items had been mailed today
Asked her to speak with a manager and she said first that they'd all tell me the same thing After I insisted she said that they ALL were in a meeting She could not give me their contact email addresses either
In short: nobody has been of any help
I normally stay away from taking the time to write bad reviews unless there is a strong pattern with any company I give my business to I have been shopping with Vitacost for several years Most times I interacted with their customer service reps there was an issue that they usually made worse either by their poor training or poor interpersonal skills or both I stayed loyal and shopped with this company for years because *** *** asked for my feedback and seemed to care I was wrong I reached out to him today via email, twitter and phone He is nowhere to be found
The kicker is that not only I was not helped but at the end of today's call *** cheerfully said: "Is there *anything else* I could help you with today?" Followed by a smiley "Have a wonderful day!"
Of course, I tried my best not to take it out on ***, but words like that do make a huge difference in the customer service experience Plus, they refused to refund my account even thought I had asked clearly for them to cancel my order PRIOR to it being mailed to me

TERRIBLE SERVICE, AND DISHONESTDON'T TRUST THESE PEOPLE WITH YOUR MONEY!
I placed an order, and paidThey took the money, then emailed to say they didn't have some of the goods! They sent part of the order, but are refusing to release the rest of the moneyThey say they can hold onto it for a month! Acting like cheap crooks is not a good marketing strategy, but that doesn't seem to bother them
What puzzles me is why they don't just give the money back? It is so cheap, dirty and stupid to behave like thisI spend a couple of thousand dollars a year on supplements; but won't be buying from these people again

I am a new customer to Vitacost, but my experience with them so far has been exceptional! I had a slight issue with shipping taking longer than expected and asked for a refund of the shipping cost. It was refunded within the hour! That is unheard of by most customer service standards. Vitacost's service, selection, and reasonable shipping rates have turned me into a life-long customer!

I have ordered from their site quite a few times, not only have the products come packaged well, It shocks me every time how they give Free shipping and the product comes next day or the day after. I have been prompted to write this because last week I placed an order and it was due to arrive the next day. It did not..so I checked the tracking and it was held due to some sort of damage. So the next day I saw the shipping company was sending it back to corporate. So, I called Vitacost to see what could be done so I didn't have to wait too long since the weekend was in front of me. She was helpful, even just being on online chat, she nicely gave me a 10% off coupon for my next order but more importantly, despite the original order still out in the field, they put together a new order box and I got it the next MORNING on a Saturday, I was very happy and as always for me anyway, Vitacost knows how to go above and beyond :)

Very disappointed lately. The company is regularly out of stock on many items. They also require a minimum purchase of 2 for many items. The website continuously has problems. When calling customer service, the average wait time is 10 minutes. I have also received several defective items (expired, broken bottles) that have not been resolved by customer service.

Vitacost is often best on prices and has things I like to buy in bulk, however, they will SPAM you like crazy with unwanted email. I don't think it's fair to automatically add my address to a bulk list and then send copious emails just because I placed an order.

I never click a box to say I want email. It seems an egregious abuse of their customer's information. Perhaps I would mind it less if they didn't sent email daily, often multiple emails, but I doubt it. I would not recommend them to friends (even if Vitacost had a better price) unless my friends knew up front that they'd have to unsubscribe from daily advertisements after placing any and all orders.

Sadly, if you place an order and unsubscribe from their email list, that request is not honored for subsequent orders and you must once again unsubscribe after you start getting the SPAM advertisement emails. It's not worth the hassle!

I'll mark my review as neutral even though I will not order from Vitacost again.
