Review: I had cataract surgery done on my eyes over a year ago within a period of two weeks . When the second eye was done it was discovered that a small tear was evident in the retina . Dr [redacted] secretary ( [redacted] Hospital , [redacted] , PA ) referred me to Vitreo Retinal for lase surgery in February of 2014. Since this was a referral it was checked out to see if my current insurance would cover the needed procedure . Nothing was mentioned to me as to my insurer not covering anything. I now have a bill of over $900 which has been sent to a collection agency . I do not like having my good name ruined by someone who conducts business in such a manner . I would not recommend these people for any type of procedure if this is how they conduct business .Desired Settlement: My insurance was supposed to cover everything , and had I known this on the day of the surgery did not get the chance to have the procedure done by someone who would accept my insurance . I am grateful everything went well , but feel I have been taken advantage of.
