I had a problem with my air conditioning unitI called Vitt Heating & Cooling to come fix itThey arrived in the morning on 8/and said they fixed the problemI paid them before they leftThe next day I noticed the pan under the unit was full of water and there was a water spot on the ceilingI called them again as they did not fix the problemWhen they arrived, he asked if I had a sump pump, which he did not ask the first time he made his diagnosesOnce I said yes, he went to the basement, saw it was unplugged, plugged it in and the water began to drain in the wellHe explained to me that the water was backing up into the system because the sump pump was not onHe handed me another $bill after I paid $days priorI refused to pay as this is something he should have asked the first day and he would not have had to come backI have explained this to management already and they are not in agreement with my assessmentI do not feel I should have to pay $for

Customer called us out for issue with leaking furnace. Technician arrived and cleared condensate drain on 2nd floor air handler and checked operation after drain was cleared. Everything ok at this time. Customer called back the next day and said water is leaking again. Technician arrived and found...

drain for 1st and 2nd floor unit had backed up again. Technician asked customer if she had a sump pump and she did. Technician found that sump pump was unplugged from the wall. Because it was unplugged, the well was overflowing due to it being turned off. This was not due to anything our technician did, nor is that something that we normally check as it's not part of the hvac system. Once technician plugged in sump pump, he removed water from secondary drain pan and system was draining properly.

I am rejecting this response because:even though the sump pump is not a part of the hvac system, the same technician knew to ask about the sump pump on the second visit. He knew that the sump pump could cause the back up and I was not aware. I am appalled that I have to pay a company to plug in a sump pump. I am willing to pay half the amount to prevent this from going on my credit report. I am not satisfied with how I am being treated when you clearly see by the invoices that I paid $146 just 2 days before.
