Vive Nail Spa

Review: I received a gift certificate for the Vive Nail Spa on Manhattan in Harvey that was valid for one year. It was dated 9-11-12. I went in on 9-11-13 which the ladies agreed this was the last day it would be valid. I was then told that they would not honor the gift certificate because there was a new owner and the previous owner did not give her the money for the gift certificate. I happen to be speaking to the new owner, [redacted]. Another lady walked up and said that the previous owner had signed the gift certificate and sent me to her shop on Tchoupitoulas St., saying that she should honor it. When I got to the other shop, I spoke with the owner who told me she was the previous owner, but did not sell that gift certificate. It was her signature, but it is written in two different colors of ink and the date and amount must have been filled in later. She refused to honor it saying that the people in Harvey should honor it. She explained to me that she had sold the business to her sister-in-law who did not make payments as agreed so she took the business back sometime around Memorial Day in May of this year. She then resold it to the lady I had spoken to, [redacted]. My understanding, from her, is that the lady who entered into the original conversation, whose name is [redacted], the sister-in-law, was the owner at the time this gift certificate was purchased. Needless to say, no one honored this gift certificate.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of the $65.00 that was paid for this gift certificate or I would like the services performed. It is wrong to take someone's money and not give them what they paid for. That is not only stealing, but bad business.
