Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]Regards,*** ***Good Afternoon ***, I checked all my junk folders and did not receive the email. . I am operating *** and apparently they are not able to work with that version. My reason for not accepting AvaStar’s explanation goes to the heart of the matterFrom the onset, it was their responsibility as the experienced service provider to verified my version of *** They were in possession of a copy of my *** on a jump drive before they began any workThey knew I had and that their 2015-version was not compatible. They should have stopped and said if we do any work your will not update with any bookkeeping work we do unless you upgrade to a more current version (which will cost $400-500)They knew I had but proceeded with work anywayNo one in their right mind would pay for services that are not compatibleUnfortunately, I trusted that this company was honest and paid in advanceWhat a mistake! I expect a full refund$1500. Please feel free to copy and paste my statement into the appropriate form. *** ***

[redacted] was referred to AvaStar to complete annual tax return. The cost quoted to complete the return was $1200 (more than double what had in paid in previous year to my CPA that passed away) The service at this price was rejected, however, the salesperson made another suggestion. monthly bookkeeping /tax prep service for $250 per month that included reconciling the bank statement with [redacted]. I decided to go with this service so I would no longer have to balance the business checking each month and use the time for other tasks in my business. AvaStar collected a check for $500 for a setup fee and first month fee. Within a fee weeks my checking account was charged another $500 for July and August. September and October fees of $250 each were also taken. The total amount paid $1500. In September, I began asking why my bank account was not being reconciled. I even went as far as defining the reconciliation process to the salesman who handed me a stack of financial statement that included monthly ** *'s and Balance Sheets. When I pressed the issue about reconciling, I was informed that I had an outdated version of [redacted] and their version would not communicate with mine. My complaint is they are the accounting firm and it is their responsibility to determine and inform the client before service begins whether they can work with my software version. Had I been told that I needed to upgrade my [redacted] for a cost of $400-500 I would have had to take that into consideration in my decision. I probably would have passed on their service. AvaStar wants to keep the entire $1500 they have collected for only a small portion of what is in the agreement. And the financial statements they ran are merely printouts from [redacted] which if I was to use the information, I would have to hand key it in since a piece of paper which cannot communicate with a software program. Also since they were not reconciling the bank account with my [redacted], two checks amounting to $925 which I had entered into my [redacted] never appeared as actually deposited on the bank statement. Had I not reconciled the account myself (which I had paid them to do ) this error would not have been caught. Also in a conversation with Rick M[redacted] (in early November), he told me they had never cashed the original $500 check I had written them. He either lied or is completely out of touch with his business because that check was on my August bank statement and had been cashed. I am shocked that a CPA would run a business charging top dollar prices for services, collecting fees, and not delivering all the services promised.I want this company to refund the entire amount paid $1500.
