Thank you Mrs. for sharing your experience with Romero Roofing.

They were prompt, very professional, and did an excellent job. They cleaned up around the house, including any debris in the gutters. I would highly recommend them.

Thank you Mr. we kindly appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with the word.

Romero replaced our roof, made repairs where needed and really worked a miracle with our chimney. Romero was there every step of the way overseeing his crew. If I had a concern, Romero addressed it promptly. His crew arrived on time and worked extremely hard. They were very respectful, as well as Romero and his son. I'm so glad Romero was recommended to me. I'll be having one more job for Romero and his crew soon. So I had Romero come back for another job. I cannot tell you the joy I got seeing the finished porch. Romero had one employee doing the work and the employee worked so hard and did outstanding work. Yes, I'm bragging on this job and employee. I still have one more job for Romero. Here's a picture of the finished porch. yep, I highly recommend Romero's company !! Now I'm going to try to add a picture. If it doesn't, I'll put it into the comments section. Thank you Romero Roofing.

Mrs. we really appreciate your kind words and we work hard for our number one concern, our Customers. Thank you

I hired Romero Roofing to do a whole roof replacement as well as installing ridge vents on my home. Mr. Romero initially came to my home along with his son who is also an employee of the company. They did a thorough inspection and provided me with quotes for multiple options for my home. Both were professional and courteous and obviously knew their business very well. I also received five other quotes from other contractors in the Chattanooga area. Mr. Romero's quote was neither the least nor most expensive, but it was by far the most comprehensive, professional and detailed. Once the crew arrived and began work, I was impressed by how well everyone did the job and at the courtesy and respect given to my family and myself. The crew completed the job in two days which included repairs for the chimney which were discovered during the process. Once the job was done, the crew cleaned the entire area and put everything back in place. Mr. Romero arrived, along with his grandson (who is training for the business) for the final inspection and we were able to have a most pleasant conversation before he departed. I plan to hire them again to paint my home and install new windows in the future. This is, by far, the best experience I've had with any contractor since moving to the Chattanooga area and I would recommend them to anyone.

We Highly appreciate the great review, Family Owned and Locally Operated, we will be glad to work for you again.

Service paid for not performed! I had a contract with this company to do a complete roof removal with new decking and did not receive, was charged $6,921.00 for a three bedroom rancher for just shingles no new deck! I want a full refund.

Desired Outcome

A full refund so that I can get a roof that doesn't leek.

VLR Homes Response

On 06 20 2017 I received a call from Mrs. asking for a quote to replace her homes roof, we set up apmt to meet at her home on 06 21 2017 at 11:30am. After inspection of the roof I found imperfections with shingles, some had tears and missing nails, also the pipe boot was lose causing the leak in her bathroom, ridge vent was lifted and torn causing leak to hallway, was not able to detect any obvious problems with her bedroom leak. Then Mrs. informed me how bad of a roof job the previous Company had done (my ethics are not to discredit any professional roofing company regardless of customers experiences). I left my Complete roof replacement proposal with Mrs. and indicated she would also get 3 more estimates, (see attached) to include replacing gutter guards. On 07/12/17 Mrs. called me to let me know she had selected us for her roof replacement, we again set up a meeting on 07/13/2017 10am to go ahead and have contract signed which she did. We discussed again all the procedures and read every line on my contract to make sure she was on the clear as I do with all my customers and future customers, from delivering materials, dumpster and to meet her expectations 100%. Mrs. confirmed to me she was very happy with her selection due to our long family conversations. Mrs. proceeded to sign contract and we set up roof replacement for 07/20/2017. On 7/20/17 while removing the shingles we found no second layer of shingles as Mrs. had indicated, she insisted there were 2 layers of shingles, I recommend we remove a couple of OSB decking boards and showed Mrs. there was no second shingles on her roof. Again Mrs. indicated she was very pleased with our work, and asked for other home interior proposals, at 530pm I came back to pick up the check, at this time I credited her $270.00 for not having a second layer of shingles, then also credited her for not installing the gutter guards because our honesty not to install gutter guards she did not need them, original contract total $7911.00 - credit ($270.00) (credit) $720.00 balance of $6921.00 was paid. On 7/31 Mrs. called me to go back she was having problems, when I walked into her home she proceeded to show me the same leaks, upon inspection I found no fresh leaks only the existing damages that were there on original inspection 6/20/17, and recommended to her to get them fixed, at this point she proceeded to scream at me we did not remove the decking as I had told her I would (I did not tell her that) or it would be in my contract.
Sincerely:
Romero Roofing and Services LLC

Romero Roofing, said in the contract that it would be a complete roof replacement, including new decking! He stated at the time of our meeting that there might be some rotted rafters, if so that cost would be on me the customer and I agreed. On one line of the contract 4x8 osb $35.00 per sheet, included. When checking with other roofing companies, that is decking material. How do you tell if there is any rafter damage, if you don't remove the decking!!!!! I do not accept his response, as this was not our agreement.

Customer Response

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I had a new roof replaced five and a half years ago, he put new decking and only charged $1,500, that was complete decking on my small three bedroom rancher. That is about forty five sheets @ 35.00. I have had leaks in my house for five years and hired Mr. to do a complete roof replacement with new decking. If he had to put 89 sheets of decking, I would have to have a much bigger house. When we first talked about replacing the roof, he said there could be possible rotted rafters, and that expense would be on me and I agreed. If you don't remove the decking, how do you know if rafters are rotten. I am seventy four years old and don't have money to replace a roof every five years. Contractors need to be held responsible for how they treat their customers. Contract says that decking is included in total charge, on contract see 4x8 osb $35.00 per sheet - included. Wood damage if needed was for rafters, if they were damaged. I want a full refund, so I can replace a bad roofing job. I have trusted someone once again!

VLR Homes Response

With all my respect that Mrs. deserves, we are not resolving a misunderstanding on her part, please review contract there is no commitment of replacing decking except if there are any issues which we informed her, there were none to be concerned.
