Volkswagen of Waco Reviews (%countItem)

BOUGHT A JANUARY 2019 VW ATLAS SUV, PAID A MONTHLY LEASE FEE FOR 12 MONTHS. REFINACED AND BUYING IT FROM VW THROUGH A BANK. PAYOFF FOR VEHICLE IS JUST UNDER 24K, THEN THEY ADDED THE NEXT 36 MONTHS FEE INTO THE PAYOFF TO MAKE THE TOTAL PAYOFF GO REAL HIGH. THE SEPERATE THE VEHICLE AND THE VEHICLE CONTRACT AS TWO SEPERATE ISSUES. WE WERE NEVER TOLD THAT, AND WHY ARE THEY CHARGING FOR THE CONTRCT FEE ON THIS CAR AND MAKING THE PAYOFF SEEM TO BE A VERY DECEPTIVE PRACTICE. THEY, VW STATED OUTLOUD THE VEHICLE IS ONLY WORTH 24K BUT, HAS SENT A PAYOFF QUOTE OF 49K. WHEN THE VEHCLE IS AND WAS BOUGHT, IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN FOR THE ACTUAL PRICE OF THE VEHICLE, AND THE CONTRACT FOR THE LEASE SHOULD HAVE EXPIRED AT THE TIME OF THE PAYOFF WAS RECEIVED. THANK YOU.

Volkswagen of Waco Response • Feb 19, 2020

The customer appears to confuse residual or current market value of the vehicle with the MSRP of the vehicle at time of sale/lease. And I am not sure how they can dispute $49,000 of a $53,000 deal? The customer apparently thinks they should lease a vehicle for 48 months and only pay $4,000? The MSRP of the vehicle was $47,630 and we actually sold the vehicle to the customer for $47,331.69 (section 7a of the attached Lease contract), plus $675 lease acquisition fee, $1500 in pre-paid maintenance and $1000 in additional finance package, for a total of $50,506.69. The residual value at the end of the term, as outlined in section 7c and 9 of the contract is $23,815, and here is where the confusion might lie for the customer. Also, I have attached the Manufacturers Monroney for your convenience, which reflects the $47,630 MSRP. After reviewing the complaint and our documentation, there is nothing that corroborates the customers complaint. No additional action will be taken from our dealership at this time.

I am rejecting this response because: THEY ARE REQUIRING A LEASE AMOUNT TO BE PAID FOR, TO THEM WHEN THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN BOUGHT OUT RIGHT FROM THEM. AND THAT MAKES THE VEHICLE NO LONGER A LEASE VEHICLE. I BELIEVE THAT THEIR BUSINESS PRACTICES ARE SHADY AND DECEPTIVE TO THE PUBLIC. I NO LONGER WILL BUY FROM VW OF WACO, TEXAS AND WILL CONTINUE TO TELL FAMILY, FRIENDS AND ANYONE WHO ASKS THE TRUTH ABOUT THEIR TACTICS. I DO ACCEPT THEIR BLURRED VERSION OF THE TRUTH. BUT, NOTHING ELSE TO DO WITH THEM PROFESSIONAL OR PERSONAL.

Regards

There is no further action to take on our part. The vehicle was sold fas a lease within Volkswagen Credit Inc.s, guidelines. Lease terms are explained and are outlined in the contract. The customer is wanting to finance a vehicle 36 months ahead of the 48 month least termination, but appears to want to use the 48 month residual value after only 12 months. This is not a Volkswagen of Waco issue, as we only process lease terminations as per VCI's guidelines, to include the residual amount and the early termination value.
