is turn the key and the car is ready. He originally paid for his motor 1895.00 It was 275 for shipping so it came to 2395.00 and he was short a little for his chord. We have one similar 3495.00. I gave him a long block for a turn key price. Basically I gave him 1800 dollars for free. The alternator, the fuel pump, all the tins. Instead of taking off all the old parts from his old engine, we used new parts instead for him. We have a metal fabrication shop also so I am bouncing back and forth all day so I have to be on top of both shops. He had a muffler on his old motor, I said Mr. [redacted], with the old motor there is stuff coming out of it. So we can put a new one on it and he said OK. I told him it is going to be a two tip. The customer said he wanted a four tip and I told him that they only make two tips. I said I can make one at my other shop but it is going to take some time. So one day we found one online and they said it is an open box. I said order it. I signed for it and brought it back to his car. I left the box back there and said I am going to head out and I told my employee to make sure everything was ready and done. I came in the morning and pushed it out to the front to make room for his car to be put on the rack. The customer saw that there was some scuffs on it. We saw it and we agreed but he didn't give me a chance to exchange it or refund it and he is already cussing and swearing. I told him that Mr. [redacted] that you don't have to pay for this. He comes back with his own two tip. So we reimbursed him the money we had already charged him. Aside from all the labor and money that we put out I even gave him a brand new carburetor in the box. The customer came back multiple times complaining about the work that we did and accused me of stealing gas from his car after he had been out from a week long trip. He also accused us of taking of putting different heater boxes in his car when we had cleaned it up and painted it for him.
As the customer left he took two heater boxes. My employee was on the phone and saw him take the boxes as he left.

Review: Poor workmanship and inadequate application of parts. Attempted to use used parts as new, failed to properly install boots on transaxle, failed to repair and instead rendered the heating system inoperable, exhaust system welds poorly done. While in their shop broke the hood latch handle, which we repaired but it can no longer be locked, and dented the roof which will require body work and a new paint job to repair.Failed to provide us with an itemized bill which was requested several times during their having the car in their shop.We purchased a new engine thru Volkswerks and had it installed. It leaks oil and the push rod tubes for the valves are dented in to almost half their diameter. In addition we had new boots on the transaxle installed, when both continued to leak, they coated it with gasket sealer instead of correcting the problem. We had a new muffler which we bought thru them installed and upon inspection found it to be dented and was used. We then purchased a new muffler on our own for less than they charged with their shop discount and had them do the installation. They then altered the pipes and welded on old connections from an old used muffler, the welds were poorly done. When he installed the used exhaust manifolds, he totally destroyed the heating system. Now on the drivers side there is no heat and defroster and on the passenger side you have constant heat with no adjustment on either side.Desired Settlement: On new parts including the motor which have not been damaged or compromised we will cover the cost, but all items that have been damaged or rendered inoperative, plus all labor should be refunded. The total bill we paid $4905.36 of which $2395.00 was the new engine. It is difficult to determine a settlement because we don't know what is new or used and what will need to be done to correct the problems. Body work and painting is costly. We would like 1/2 the bill returned ($2,500.00).

Review: I took my VW Bus in for diagnosis of a problem which kept the engine from running properly. I explained the symptoms and asked them to try to determine what was wrong and what it would cost to fix. They told me they had found and fixed the problem and charged me $223.63 on 5/7/14. I test drove the vehicle for a couple miles and it seemed to run fine, so I paid the bill. They then said the vehicle needed a "complete major tune-up" and oil change (which sounded reasonable as it had been sitting for about three years), so I authorized the work. They subsequently said I needed a new battery, new double relay, new front brake pads, new rear brake shoes, a new fuel injection hose (for which the fuel tank had to be emptied and dropped), and various other parts. When they said it was ready (on 5/24/14), I paid the new bill. When I started to drive home from their shop the engine exhibited the same problem that I had originally asked them to diagnose, and which they said they had fixed. In total, I paid them $1809.51 and received my vehicle in the same condition as it was before any work was done. In addition, the side cargo door worked properly when they got the bus. Now the door won't close completely and can't be locked.Since I have no money to try to get the vehicle fixed elsewhere, I was forced to sell it. The person who bought it drove it first. The problem with the engine was immediately apparent to him, and I was obliged to sell it cheap. He is willing to give his opinion of the engine's condition; please contact me for his name and phone number.Desired Settlement: I would accept a refund of $1000.00. That would allow me to finish paying back the money my mother gave me to have the car worked on.
