The Customer has been contacted and the problem is being resolvedHe is getting the apology and also all the parts he requested please call me with any further questions *** ***

Richard called Volo saying the car was too powerful for his wife, who the car was for and asked to trade it in. It is not fault of VAM the car was too powerful or that Richard chose not to inspect the car or test drive it prior, therefore the trade offer was a fair one.  Richard has buyers remorse and is reaching for any reason to pin he's impulsive purchase on us.  The car was inspected, the car was fully restored, the issues with the car did not exist when it was loaded on the car, it happened after he took delivery as he admitted, he drove it 20 miles.  Regardless of if the items were missed by us, caused by Richard etc., we offered to work with him and asked him to get an estimate for the repairs needed.  Why Richard has not gotten that done instead of attckung us and going in circles over this is beyond me. Richard, you chose to not look at this car before you got it, you chose to not have the car inspected before you made the decision to purchase it, we never forced you to not come look at it or hire a 3rd party. You are over 18 years old making you responsible for your decisions.   We delivered you a fully restored 1968 [redacted] we agreed to address the minor issues you have with the car.   You sir make no sense with your words or actions and it's to the point of harassment.  I will happily defend our integrity in court if you'd like to hire an attorney.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
Sincerely,
[redacted] Here again, He is not telling you straight as I have suggested all along, First he has no emails to prove he asked me to get any repairs done as he has stated. Second. I am appalled at his comments. My wife drove the car before even 5 miles were put on it. That's when I said lets see if they will take it back in exchange. Volos good business practice again said yes, If I take at least an $8.000 hit on the $49K. I paid for the car plus another $3K for the shipping. less than a day or 2 I drove the car and the transmission locks up, Again I state even at that time, nothing had been tested, The car was towed to a shop, and all the other items were found not to even work.It would be nice if he would tell the truth as he is not. As they stated the car was " 100% Restored " Well Volo purchased in from someone else, Now again at his comment about my attitude. They did not restore car. & it is not 100% restored as stated. I purchased a car that again was stated 100% restored. So any one who receives a 100% restored Item. Should receive this item in 100% working condition. He states " What does he expect from a 50 year old car. Well Jay I expect all items to work on delivery. he also states the car is sitting because of the Vin issue. No he is wrong again. The car is sitting because there is a problem with how it runs. I will list again below that cars issues & can document them thru a  auto repair shop here. It just amazes me at his attitude, because he is just covering up from his two sales persons, I dealt with prior to dealing with his attitude. I did report the problems right away, Again Joey say, "What do you expect from a 50 old car. They state is 100% restored. After several mail & calls they ignored me and finally when old Jay took over I knew he was blowing me off as well. I sell 45-50+ Motorcycles Jay that are really 100% restored. I have had issues with shipping or something mite happen & I will not be as un cooperative as you. You are not a straight up guy, so you wonder why I was so irriatated at you. If my employees hide the fact that a customer is mad about our service or equipment & does not tell me, They would be in my office and asked why did you not tell me the owner. Your comment to me the first conversation was " I did not know anything" about you having a problem, This also can be documented by my secretary and another employee in my office. So cutomer service is not what you care about. below is a list so far of the cars issues with only less than 25 miles on it.1. Oil Leaks2.Engine will not idle & car smokes3. Not only do headlight doors open One light does not work.4.Passanger side door does not open from inside, Linkage is broke.  "Joeys coment to this it must have happened in the shipping" No Joey its broke5. Tailight Ones out & the other does not blink6. Radio does not work7.Transmission locked car had to be towed. Linkage installed wrong  and bent.  Jay I have had at least 5 SS cars with Muncie 4 spds and you comment I caused these things is a joke. In closing 20 miles on vehicle & this is 100% restored so after that the car will fall apart. My shop read your emails Jay what you need to do is man up and say OK I have a problem the customer which is me is asking for a very small amount, so I can have someone who knows these [redacted] getting it running right. Again when I have stated I hgave spent at least 40 hours of my time away from my business dealing with this car that was 100% restored.

Richard purchased a 1968 [redacted] sold as-is.  The car was fully restored but no matter how well the car is restored, it is still a 1968 with 1968 technology (nearly 50 years old).  It is not, nor never will be a 2017.  Much of the issues Richard has is in his own mind.  The...

reason the car has been sitting is because he cannot get it titled because of a non-existent VIN issue.  Richard is claiming the VIN number on the dash does not match the VIN tag on the cars cowl.  As we explained to Richard, the tag on the cowl is not a VIN, it is a Trim Tag that gives information about the car as far as colors, build date, etc.. This was never a VIN #.  If the Calif. DMV does not agree with that, it is a Calif DMV issue, not a Volo Auto Museum issue as we supplied a car and title with the proper VIN numbers.  Other items like the vacuum operated headlight doors, these never worked properly from the factory and Chevrolet came up with a new design to address this issue for 1969 cars.  They operate poorly, as they did when new.  There is a company that makes an aftermarket kit to convert them from vacuum to electric to make them more reliable for people who wish to make that modification.  As far as getting stuck in 2nd gear, there were no issues here before it left, it happened after Richard drove it, as he claimed, 20 miles.  These old cars require finesse and I believe this to have been caused by Richard.  There are other small items Richard mentioned, all the items Richard had brought up are minor and are easily addressable.  Volo Auto Museum made every attempt to help Richard with the issues.  Even though the car was sold as-is, in the efforts of good business we addressed each of his issues and asked him to have the car looked at and get us an estimate for the repairs and we would help him.  However, Richard continued to rant, name call, accuse us of fraud, insulting us and not allowing us to help him.  Because Richard was acting irrational and in an insulting demeanor we saved the e-mail conversation as proof of our attempts to assist him.  The emails can be found here  http://[redacted]
