to post. Thank you for bringing the issue to our attention.

Due to payment industry and processor requirements to approve payment processing accounts, we cannot guarantee that merchants will be approved at the time of application or confirm the application will be immediately approved. We worked with this merchant and provided what was required to resolve the hold on the application and had an account setup as quickly as we could while following industry standards. We provided this merchant a resolution advising the need to reach out to Authorize.net to have them resubmit any batches the merchant submitted after the account was closed.  If Authorize.net was successful in resubmitting the batch, the funds would then be moved from the cardholders’ accounts to the merchant’s bank account. This merchant attempted to process sales after ignoring notifications their account was closed. Furthermore, the merchant ignored instructions to resolve the issue and have sales funded to them. Therefore, we are unable to provide compensation as we are not holding onto any funds from the merchant’s customers.   If this merchant wishes to process these sales, simply visit each order and delete the capture line in the payment log, then click on the “Change Payment Type” drop-down menu, and select “Credit Card”.  If the credit card has been saved, a “Saved Payment Methods” drop-down menu will appear where the merchant can select the credit card. This will fill in all of the necessary information except for the 3-digit security code (CVV) for the credit card.  The merchant will just need to obtain the security code from her customer and can then charge for the balance.

It is possible that the merchant may be confusing two separate services she purchased through Volusion.  She purchased a hosting plan from our website.  The hosting service provides merchants with the ability to build and run an online store.  Merchants can choose from several different plans when purchasing the month-to-month hosting service.  Merchants may view our plans and purchase one at any time by visiting [redacted]. The hosting service which the merchant purchased gives the ability to build and run an online store.  It does not include any advertising or marketing services.  While Volusion offers pay-per-click and search engine optimization services for an extra fee, our merchants are not required to purchase them.  Merchants may choose to do their own marketing, or they may hire Volusion or a third party to provide that service. In order to accept credit cards, merchants must set up a merchant account.  The merchant account can be set up through Volusion or through a third party. Volusion suggested applying for the Volusion merchant account so that there would only be one company to contact for support.  An application was emailed to the merchant.  The merchant signed and submitted the application, thereby agreeing to all of the fees listed on Page Two.  Additionally, the contract specifies that our payment processor, Global Payments, will debit the fees.  By signing the application, the merchant agreed to all of the terms and conditions listed at [redacted]. As the merchant signed the merchant account application, agreeing to have the fees debited and to the three-year term, we are unable to offer any type of compensation.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:Yes, this is how contracts work, I"m aware of that. I never denied that the information was written somewhere within the contract nor am I denying that I signed it. My complaint here is that I was never told about any monthly fees, Merchant Account, before, during, or directly after signing the contract. [redacted] walked me through the electronic contract over the phone on her own pace and absolutely failed to point out that along side of paying $59 for a SSL Certificate that I'm also engaging in a monthly obligation. She knew, beyond a doubt, my financial situation and hesitation in spending just $59 yet she valued getting a sale over doing what is right and ethical.
Again, this deceitful and unethical conduct can be heard during our recorded phone calls. I can guarantee you that if a completely uninformed stranger listens to these calls, they would recount my same exact story and argument. Opinion aside, they would also be able to tell you how extra fees were never mentioned and how the representative should not have made the sale knowing the financial situation she knew.
Regards,
[redacted]
