Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: First of all the business Vows Bridal and Formals has insulted the sensibilities of my [redacted] intelligence, by stated that many areas of my complaint regarding the holding deposit for a prom dress is fabricated. My daughter [redacted] did not purchase a prom dress from Vows Bridal and Formals on February 28, 2015. [redacted] placed a holding deposit of $140.00 cash and $60.00 debt charge on Sunday March 1, 2015 at 3:37pm, 37 minutes after the closing time posted on the store window. The owner told my daughter that she needed to put a holding deposit of half the cost in order to place the dress in the back of the store and off the sale rack in order to guarantee that the dress would be available for my viewing the next business day, so my daughter did so. My daughter and I [redacted] revisited the Vows Bridal and Formals the next business day March 2, 2015 at 10:30am a half hour after the opening time posted on the store window and less than 24 hours after excepting a $140.00 cash holding deposit and $60.00 debt charge holding deposit from [redacted] my 17 year-old. There was no phone conversation between myself  [redacted] and any sale staff at Vows Bridal and Formals prior to my visiting the store location. I found it very insulting for an owner of a business to state that they are unable to refund a $200.00 holding deposit, that was received by a minor who is not able to the full amount of $413.61 as stated in the business response letter to my complaint, nor is there any indication on the hand written receipt when the remaining balance needed to be paid by, only a balance of $213.61.  I explained to the owner of Vows Bridal and Formals that there were many issues regarding the dress that [redacted] had placed on hold, and that I am the parent who has to approve of a purchase of any dress she would be wearing to the prom as well as the cost of any dress, personally $413.61 is extremely high for a prom dress. Secondly less than 24 hours had past prior to my refusal of the dress [redacted] had place a holding deposit of $200.00 so I could view the dress the following business day, which is no loss sale for the business owner of Vows Bridal and Formal since I arrived at the store 37 minutes after the store opened. I am very disappointed with the business policy of Vows Bridal and Formals regarding holding a minor liable for a dress that is clearly not within a minor means of paying for, as well as excepting a deposit for an item that the owner has no guarantee that the minor will be able to pay a balance for, such business transactions  seem very irresponsibly and poor business conduct standards. I am requesting a refund and nothing less. I have attached the hand written receipt with the incorrect date of the holding deposit information as well as the debt receipt with the proper date of $60.00.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

On February 28,[redacted] along with her boyfriend has purchased a prom gown at Vows Bridal and Formals. [redacted] was able to make just a partialvpayment and wanted to come back in the next week to pay the rest and take it home since there are no alteration needed. Prior to making a...

partialpayment of $200 for this gown, she had asked me what is our refund policy in which  I told her that ALL SALES ARE FINAL,there are no exchange or return. She also signed and acknowledges this prior to making this purchase as shown on the copy of the invoice. There were never mentions about putting this gown on hold or needing to show this gown to her Mom for approval.On3/2/2015, [redacted] called me at 10:15 asking me to refund her deposit due to her
parent not permitting her going to the prom. After explaining to her about our no refund policy and thatshe was told and acknowledged to our all sale final policy prior to her transaction ,she had purchase her gown with her own will. After many phone calls
to resolve this issue,I agreed to give her a storecredit for her personal use for the money she had paid of $200. She said that she would have no use for the store credit since she isn't going to the prom. Her Mom called the store and insists that her daughter is a minor, therefore her signature on the invoice should not be held as her responsibility and refund should be given to her. I was not in agreement with her Mom asking for the refund. At 11:30, [redacted] and her Mom came in the store. First they want a refund which Istated again it would be against our store policy. Her mom asked me to purchase her daughter another prom gown from a internet retail site using her store credit, which is not something I am willing to do.  I was puzzled to the earlier phone call that she stated that she would not be attending the prom,  [redacted] change her story now to " I told you that I am not going to the prom...USING THE GOWN THAT I PURCHASE AT YOUR STORE". Now,she is saying that the gown she purchase does not pass dress code in which I told her can be a simple fix if such case is the truth. After much discussion,I had issued her a store credit for her sole use only. I had made an exception for[redacted] although she had lied and are not taking responsibility for her own action. The complaint has many area that are fabricated that are untrueto the event of the day she had make her purchase. We cannot sway our policy becausewe are very strict on our "No Refund Policy" because we treat every customer equallyand there is no unfairness in ou rbusiness. Our store clearly has a "No Refund" sign printed and framed which is located above·our transaction desk that can be spottedwhen making payment. Our invoice is printed and signed so that the customer acknowledges and make aware of this due to the fact that we are dealin. with customer need that are not like other businesses.
