Vox Landscaping & Construction Reviews (6)

VOX and company transformed our yard into an oasis. We needed creative landscaping to solve a lot of storm run off in our rear yard. Beth and her crew listened to our ideas and created a breath-taking landscape that is not only beautiful but functional. The run off problem was solved with terraced areas divided by short rounded walls. A walkway was cut into the hill, up to a new pergola that was built to take advantage of the spectacular views at the top of the property. Beth is an expert on plants and everything she suggested looks great. She did not skimp on the number of plants she provided in both the front and rear yard. Her crew removed a dying palo verde tree and replaced it with a fruitless olive tree that had to be craned over the house. Everyone on her team is professional and hard-working. The job was finished on time and on budget. We love and enjoy the results every day!

We talked to 15 companies; only VOX Landscaping and Construction captured our vision completely. They do large projects and this was definitely that. The crew was professional, efficient, and courteous. Beth and Patreace provided guidance and assured our vision was delivered on schedule. The hardscape and kitchen, and fountain/firepit were constructed beyond my expectations. Jose is an artisan, who sculpted the fountain and built the kitchen so strong I could dance on it. Trees and plants were placed perfectly to complete and enhance our vision. I can't say enough about VOX. I recommend them to all who see the finished art.

I would like to express my gratitude and share my very positive experience with Vox Landscaping and Construction. Our back yard was desolate. Problems had occurred that I just didn't know how to deal with. Over the course of a few years, virtually every living thing died off. It was dusty, hard and barren. The space was long and narrow, with no drainage. When it rained hard, water drained from the yard INTO the house!
I had a good idea of my desires, and invited 5 landscapers to give me a quote. They came and looked at my yard, but not one of them ever called or came back. I met [redacted] Vox at the Phoenix Landscape Show. She promised to show up--and she did. She really listened to me. I felt so comfortable working with her. I trusted her.
She drew up a landscape plan (no extra charge). She helped us to keep the details we loved about our yard. She gave us choices, and was flexible in making changes to accomodate our budget. We signed the contract on Tuesday June 24. Work began on Thursday June 26, and the project was COMPLETE on July 3rd!
[redacted]'s team was worked together for years. They do just one job at a time. We had their full attention. I marvelled at the the planning and precision of demolition, deliveries, and completion of the finished product. [redacted], the site manager, [redacted], [redacted] and the crew were extremely hard working and courteous. This one crew was able to handle demolition, wiring & lighting, the watering system, adding an underground drainage system for those monsoon rains, designing & laying a pattern of pavers, and planting trees, vines, shrubs, and perennials. We dealt only with [redacted] and Vox Landscaping and Construction; no need for subcontractors.
They also provided extra considerations: They moved some very heavy urns to another part of the property. They removed previous construction waste we had just stored on the side of the garage. They provided an autofill solution for our pool. They moved an entire lamppost, including the wiring, to a more advantageous location. They buried an exposed drainage pipe in another area of the property, and removed an overgrown desert broom shrub that was not in the designated construction area. They SOLVED problems that have been irritating me for years.
They exceeded my vision, while considering my budget. We absolutely love being in the yard now. I rejoice when it rains and I don't have to sweep water out of the house. The yard is beautiful and tasteful and it calms my soul to be there. Our household is very grateful to [redacted], [redacted], [redacted], [redacted], and the other good men at Vox Landscaping and Construction for truly increasing the quality of our lives.

The first time Beth R[redacted] came to our home she said she does a "Google" search to see your house (to see if you can afford her) before she ever comes out. You should know that Beth does not give a warranty on the plants because she adds more plants than stipulated in case some of them die. This she brought to our attention after signing the contract. After calling and sending numbers emails over the summer to find out why the cacti were rotting and the other plants were crisp, we found that she also gives no follow-up service.

It was a beautiful design. For complete landscaping we paid a total of $35,370.60 (no trees) plus $1372.40 waste disposal she contracted for but paid by us. We also bought outside of contract the wiring and lights for outdoor lighting (she told us what to buy).

Our courtyard was the last area planted because it had standing water and we had to install a sump pump. The first plants were not ones we discussed and were very poor specimens so she did replant at my request (it was before we paid the last installment). Six of those eight new plants were Euphorbia (Crown of Thorns variety). Two of the Euphorbia died because the water they were getting was too much (in an already wet area) and they were in full sun in summer when full sun should be avoided for this plant. The other two plants, jasmine, we had to baby all summer because they don't like full sun. (In summer, most our courtyard is in full sun.)

For a new watering system she used only noodles, leaving the end open with no ability to adjust or shut off the water for individual plant needs. She did leave us watering instructions which we did adjust during the appropriate seasons but it was evidently too much for the cacti which rotted because they were getting the same water as the other plants and not enough because the ruellia turned crisp, slowly dying.

At our cost we provided five roses and paid her to plant them, but up front she did say she didn't know anything about roses. Three of those five roses died - not even leafing out, I replaced them at my cost, and those three died as well. Why did 3 out of 5 die, not once but twice? One of the valves for roses is very wet inside and when I put my hand on underside it was rusting. She was going to get back to me after consulting with someone she knows who has knowledge of roses, but this never happened.

We love our back yard garden, thanks to Vox Landscaping & Construction. They took our dreams, dusted them with creativity, knowledge and skill and delivered a plan of action that produced a beautiful and peaceful garden, filled with adventure and mystery. Their efficient crew, with superb supervision, landed like a swarm of locust, quietly and orderly did their job and cleaned the site before leaving on a daily basis. Their billing was affordable, transparent and had a payment schedule that was timely and fair. Everyone should be so fortunate to have a garden by Beth & Patrice at Vox.

VOX was the BEST CHOICE we could have ever made!! We have a large extended family and required a very functional setup in our new backyard. VOX delivered! The planning and suggestions made were spot on for ALL of our family needs and at the same time, keeping us in a "minimum maintenance" mode for our upcoming retirement. The VOX work crew was extremely courteous, informative and accommodating, and worked very hard to make everything look GREAT. We knew Beth Rolffs (VOX) was the right choice when we met at the home show. The ENTIRE process was painless (even during monsoon) and really was a pleasure working with everyone!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND you check them out for any landscape or construction needs!!
