Dear [redacted] :We received notice of complaint [redacted] via postal mail on Friday October 20thOnline floor-plans can vary slightly due to specific locations of an apartment within the buildingWhile the online image depicts a long clothes rack, this particular apartment cannot due to a built out area that blocks the spaceHowever in lieu of this rack, there are two shorter racks which equal the same amount of hanging storage. Both parties signed the lease, making this an executed document and all lease provisions enforceable. This executes the lease and whether or not they live in the apartment, the lease break clauses will apply,The onsite staff is attempting to re-rent; this unit as to minimize the expense from the complainant but we cannot guarantee exactly when this will occur. Please contact me with any questions,Best,Debbie F.Regional Property Manager

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, you must give us a reason why you are rejecting the responseIf no reason is received your complaint will be closed as Answered] Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: I have to reject the claim that this particular apartment can’t accommodate a long hanging rack due to an area that blocks the space, but even if that were true there is no way the two shorter racks equal the same amount of hanging storageAs shown in the attached image one of the two shorter racks is cut off by a wall, effectively rendering most of the second rack useless Additionally, I also have to reject the claim that the onsite staff is attempting to re-rent this unit to minimize the expense given that until a short time ago this unit wasn’t available until December 21st according to their website (see the attached image) I also will dispute the fact that this lease is executed given that we were not asked to show proof of income or renters insurance and a mailbox key was not made available for us until after we expressed our displeasure After we expressed our displeasure to the on-site staff, instead of looking for a reasonable solution such as showing us the bedroom/bath available at the time or offering to make modifications to the existing unit the property manager and the concierge treated us like second class citizens and made no effort make amends I find it concerning that a property that has affordable housing units and previously received a $million dollar loan from the Arlington County Affordable Housing Investment Fund would treat someone with such disrespect Interestingly enough, my wife previously lived at VPoint apartments between and in an affordable housing unitShe ended her lease in March of after we got engaged and moved in togetherAt that time, after reviewing her final rental statement I realized that she had been overcharge by $over the term of the leaseWhile she was eventually refunded after contacting the Revdex.com and Arlington County Affordable Housing Enforcement, this pattern of behavior only goes to show that VPoint is only interested in what benefits them financially without concern for their residences for the citizens that provided the $million dollar loan I would be willing to settle this matter for $already paid ($security deposit plus $application fee), which I feel is more than fair given that my wife and I never occupied the premises and there was no real harm to VPoint apartments Regards, [redacted]

 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
I have to reject the claim that this particular apartment can’t accommodate a long hanging rack due to an area that blocks the space, but even if that were true there is no way the two shorter racks equal the same amount of hanging storage. As shown in the attached image one of the two shorter racks is cut off by a wall, effectively rendering most of the second rack useless.
Additionally, I also have to reject the claim that the onsite staff is attempting to re-rent this unit to minimize the expense given that until a short time ago this unit wasn’t available until December 21st according to their website (see the attached image).
I also will dispute the fact that this lease is executed given that we were not asked to show proof of income or renters insurance and a mailbox key was not made available for us until after we expressed our displeasure.
After we expressed our displeasure to the on-site staff, instead of looking for a reasonable solution such as showing us the 2 bedroom/1 bath available at the time or offering to make modifications to the existing unit the property manager and the concierge treated us like second class citizens and made no effort make amends.
I find it concerning that a property that has 70 affordable housing units and previously received a $13.1 million dollar loan from the Arlington County Affordable Housing Investment Fund would treat someone with such disrespect.
Interestingly enough, my wife previously lived at VPoint apartments between 2013 and 2015 in an affordable housing unit. She ended her lease in March of 2015 after we got engaged and moved in together. At that time, after reviewing her final rental statement I realized that she had been overcharge by $517 over the term of the lease. While she was eventually refunded after contacting the Revdex.com and Arlington County Affordable Housing Enforcement, this pattern of behavior only goes to show that VPoint is only interested in what benefits them financially without concern for their residences for the citizens that provided the $13.1 million dollar loan.
I would be willing to settle this matter for $390 already paid ($250 security deposit plus $140 application fee), which I feel is more than fair given that my wife and I never occupied the premises and there was no real harm to VPoint apartments.
Regards,
