Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2017/08/14) */
On dec 28 2016 [redacted] bought a new ford f250
I have included a copy of the bill of sale showing nothing was promised extra at time of delivery.
Ford Motor Co has special rebate program availble to help off set commercial buyers costs for...

certain accesories. Customer was given a copy of the program with requirements to receive partial reimbursment.
As per program guideline company would need to add a snow plow for [redacted] reinbursment. this was explained to the customer in person and with documents. Rice ford cant change the rebate amount we are just facilitating the transaction with the customer and ford motor co
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2017/08/15) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I have read the first response from Rice-Ford.This is not acceptable to me. They have also stated a couple of "facts", that are inaccurate.
First of all, they are not addressing the real issue; that being their "word"what they told me about the rebate. They are skirting this, the real issue. After they later learned that they had made a mistake in telling me I would receive ** in a rebate for the topper, is when they started back peddling. When Mr. [redacted] called me on the phone on a Saturday morning, telling me he had a [redacted] check for me "burning a hole in his pocket", the very first thing I said was, "Where is the other [redacted] He said he "didn't know about that". From that point on, I received the "run around and passing [redacted] buck" from Mr. [redacted] and Mr. [redacted], with them not wanting to speak to me anymore about it. I told them at that point, that "I am getting a bad taste in my mouth with Rice-Ford". Mr. [redacted] stated, "Oh, we don't want you to do that". When I received the check a week later, they had included a copy of the rebate program, with "snow plow" hand written in and circled, meaning you get [redacted] additional for that. This paper was dated 5/15/17. I NEVER received this document "in person with explanation" when I was making the purchase of the truck. Again, it boils down to them keeping their word. After the fact of their mistake, and them then informing me of the REAL rebate situation in mid-May with the copy, I was never expecting to receive the additional [redacted] from the rebate company. I was and still am fully expecting to receive the other [redacted] that is due me, to come from the coffers of Rice-Ford. Again, this ** that I was told I would receive, was part of the purchase plan for me to buy the truck.I was NEVER "given a copy of the program with requirements to receive partial reimbursement" at the time of purchase.
Thank you, [redacted]
Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 12, 2017/09/01) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Unfortunately, Rice-Ford is still not addressing the real issue, and is continuing to throw up "smoke and mirrors". The real issue still is, again, and always has been; are they going to keep their wordare they going to be an ethical business? Are they going to make up the difference between what the rebate company paid, and what they told me I would receive? (They later found out they could only get me [redacted] for my qualifying topper/ladder rack, and not the ** they told me I would receive. This ** was part of the deal for me to "bank on" and then agree to the price of the purchase).
Note: I handle disputes between contractors and homeowners. The guilty party is always the one who does not want to communicate, ignores you, stays quiet, and sticks their head in the sand hoping that the problem (person) gets tired, gives up, and goes away. This it what happened to me with the Rice Ford salesmen. Their actions speak louder than wordsas I stated before, they knew full well that they told me ** for a topper/ladder rack.
Yes; I was happy with the figures at the time of sale, because the final clincher was; I was told I would receive a ** rebate after I bought a topper/ladder rack for my truck, if I spent ** or more for the topper/ladder rack. (Nothing was mentioned about a snow plow being included in that). I was told in December by Mr. [redacted], I just needed to bring in my receipt after the purchase. I did not "express concerns in March". I did so in May when only [redacted] arrived. I never agreed to a [redacted] amount. That was never told to me in the first place. They were not knowledgeable about Ford's rebate program. That is what it boils down to.
(Whoever is writing the responses for Rice-Ford is not very well informed about the whole situation. They may be just grabbing at straws tooi.e. the smoke and mirrors I previously mentioned).
Nothing was mentioned about purchasing this topper/ladder rack from Rice Ford, by the salesmen. To my knowledge, they do not fabricate custom built toppers/ladder racks, or then install them. If they do, why did not the salesmen state that?
I ordered a custom built topper/ladder rack which took 2 months to build. Then it took 1 month for delivery and scheduled custom installation.
Furthermore, regarding the statement from Rice Ford in their last response: "Rice Ford gave him [redacted] in May to try and make him happy". This is not true. The money came from the Ford Motor Company rebate program. The check was first sent to Rice Ford. It took 6 weeks approximately for it to arrive. They did not give me the money to "make me happy", as they state. It was coming as promised and as discussed in December. The problem started in May when it was only [redacted]
So no; I am not satisfied. Rice Ford still needs to write me a check for [redacted] to make up the difference to solve this matter.
Thank you, [redacted]
Final Business Response /* (4000, 14, 2017/09/15) */
As stated before. Rice Ford helped facilitate Mr. [redacted] in receiving [redacted] earlier this year. He cashed the check and now wants more money that was never promised by Rice Ford. As he personally states above,"The money came from Ford Motor Co. rebate program. The check was only sent to Rice Ford." This rebate that he is referring to was a rebate from Ford Motor Co. and had nothing to do with Rice Ford. We helped him fill out the paperwork to get [redacted] however that was between Ford Motor Co and not [redacted] Ford as he himself states above. Ford offered a rebate in the amount of [redacted] depending on what he did to his truck after the purchase. The rebate form which Mr [redacted] received at the time of sale clearly states that it is a Ford Motor Co rebate and not Rice Ford. Two separate companies. It also states what he needs to install to get the full [redacted] A SNOW PLOW!!! He did not install a snow plow per the official program requirements. If he did in fact install a snow plow, Rice Ford will gladly contact Ford Motor Co on his behalf and facilitate him in getting the additional [redacted] amount requested. It is our position that he did not install a snow plow and therefore does not meet Ford Motor Companies requirements. If he did install and plow, that needs to be brought to out attention and proof of purchase needs to be given to directly to Ford or we will gladly handle that for him and fill out proper forms like we did last time. We now have aprox. 30 pages of documentation of the sales transaction several of which are signed by Mr [redacted] and none of it states that we promised him [redacted] after he installed accessories elsewhere. It states, Ford Motor Co rebate program [redacted] (incl. Snow Plow). He did not install the plow as required. He have that paperwork and he was explained this at the time of sale with documentation and verbally. Rice Ford will not communicate further on this issue unless Mr. [redacted] infact installed the Snow Plow as stated.
