I sincerely apologize for lengthy turn-around from initial call to when I was personally able to get out there to take a look as I was in Michigan dealing with the unexpected passing of my mother and my duties as Executor. That being said, when I visited the [redacted]’s home on 10/29 I...

met with **. [redacted] and he showed me their concerns. What we found was, the previous owner had remodeled the basement and in doing so, clogged and covered the system with wood and debris and also did not use a vapor barrier. **. [redacted] and I discussed his alternatives and he said he was going to see about removing the wall and would let me know when he had that taken care of. The problem is in no way the fault or responsibility of Vulcan’s work.

What a disappointing experience! My wife and I paid $5,500 to have a drainage relief system, sump pump, and vapor barrier installed in our basement; which is approximately 78 linear feet. The work crew, led by Hubert, was unprofessional, unprepared, and unskilled. They showed up late both days, not just a little late, over an hour late each day. The first thing the supervisor did when he showed up was light a cigarette (by the way, my wife is pregnant), and when the job was finished I picked up at least 10 cigarette butts from my driveway. They had to use my water (it's not public, I pay by usage) to mix the concrete, even though the contract says that all materials will be supplied by Vulcan. They stayed until after 10pm on day two of the job just so they could finish. While I admire the work ethic, the quality of work was certainly compromised. The work ethic, however, was only held by two of the workers because by 7pm, I walked outside to find the remaining workers asleep (literally) in their truck. After they finished, I was not happy with the quality of work and attempted to reach out to the manager. He was on leave and I was rerouted to a covering manager in Northern New Jersey named Vic. I was promised that the Philadelphia manager (Mike) would be calling me back when he returned. Not only has Mike never called me back after 5 weeks of trying to reach him, no one in the office will return my calls. I even sent a message to the company stating that I didn't want my money back and I didn't want any apologies; I just wanted someone from the company to look at the finished product and tell me whether or not it is something that is in line with the quality of work they have built their name on since 1947. The concrete already has a hairline crack in it, and they don't even have the decency to return a phone call. If you want the quality of work that Vulcan provided me with, grab a couple of buddies, a jackhammer, and some trash bags and get to work.
