Vulcan Basement Waterproofing Reviews (5)

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me

I had previously contracted with one of your competitors, ***, for a water remediation system in my basement That company tried getting through the floor, and after approximately - 1/hours of jack hammering and air hammering, they informed me that they were abandoning the job because it would take a week to get through my floor for the approximate thirty foot run They re-cemented the floor where they had broken through the concrete and walked away from the job The workman told me that no one could do the job if they could not do it They left my house a shambles and with water in areas that I previously did not have anyDespite my reluctance to call any other company, I did call several other contractors Mike [redacted] from Vulcan came to my house and repeatedly reassured me that your company would get the job done After doing some research, I reluctantly entered into contract with Vulcan Waterproofing through Mr [redacted] The job was scheduled to begin in a weekFrom the moment I entered into contract until Tuesday when the men arrived, I was preparing myself for another disaster I thought that if I were prepared for the worst, I would not be as devastated as I was when [redacted] abandoned the job previously I even considered canceling the contract pursuant to my three day right of rescission, but fought off the urge to do soWhen the team arrived at my house, my trepidation began to subside immediately Four men, not three boys, as the previous contractor had sent, exited the van They brought with them an air compressor and did not have to leave the job to get one as the previous contractor had done They had the air hose come through a window rather than through my house They advised me to shut down the air conditioner so as not to disperse the concrete dust through the house In less than one hour of air hammering, your men accomplished more than the previous contractor had done all dayCarlos, the foreman, ran the air hammer for four hours and was fully done with the thirty foot run by 1:00pm While he was hammering, the other men were removing the debris he loosened, were laying the perforated pipe and were installing the sump pump and discharge pipe They all worked together like a well-oiled machine The job was completely finished by 2:30pm despite the fact that the men were soaked from being out in the pouring rainI am thrilled with the professionalism of your team and the water remediation system that has been installed Vulcan Basement Waterproofing accomplished what [redacted] said was impossible My only regret is not having contracted with your company initially It would have saved me a great deal of anxiety

This is one of the worst companies I have ever used... First of all they lied to me and refused to correct an issue that we had with a job they performed. Been back and forth with several employees there. The guy that sold me even try to lie and say he never was at my home before and I pulled the contract and showed him that he was my salesman and showed him his signature. Don't waste your time or money. An ex employee even told me that there had scam me.

Review: On February **, 2015, I contracted with Vulcan waterproofing to apply their Nature Stone process to my patio. I told the salesman [redacted] that we do not have a CO for the patio, and until we do, I can not have this applied to my property. he demanded that I give him a deposit or the work will not be able to be performed this year. I was really against this, but he assured me that if I can not get authorization to apply this product, he would "REFUND" my deposit, no questions asked. We are unable to get the CO for the patio at this time, so we simply want our deposit back!! THE FACT IS VULCAN NEVER PERFORMED THE SERVICE!!!

Well this is seven months ago, I have been asking for the refund of my $1,000 deposit since March 2015, and have still not received this refund. ( however, each time I ask for the refund, I'm assured that I would receive the refund). I have made repeated calls to the salesman [redacted], Michael their install Manager in Philadelphia, their bookkeeper Irene, the assistant manager Larren S[redacted], all tell me I would receive my refund of my deposit, but it never comes. Additionally, I have tried to reach the owner and president of Vulcan, Matthew V[redacted] on six different occasions and who ever answers the phone, refuses to put me through to speak with him (he has never called me back), THE FACT IS VULCAN NEVER PERFORMED THE SERVICE!!!

This is a horrible business to deal with. they take your money, but fail to perform as contracted and make up stories and hide when there is an issue or problem. Really terrible.Desired Settlement: I want my $1,000 deposit back immediately.

Response:

Although the contract was agreed upon months ago and the 3 day recision period has long since expired, we agreed to refund [redacted] deposit. [redacted] has received a full refund from us via the credit card he used for his deposit. [redacted] said he still wants to have the work done when his situation changes with other problems he is experiencing with his home.

Review: We had them water proof 2 basements and spent over 9 thousand dollars doing it exactly as they told us it should be done to keep the basements dry. A very good salesman named [redacted] and his wife sat in our living room assuring me that he stands behind this company and would be there for us but that this would solve the problem 100%.

We had just suffered from hurricane sandy and wanted this solved before we rebuilt our basements.

In less than 2 years we started to have issues with one of the basements and when we called them we were first told that because of the hurricane sand had shifted and that was the issue and it was not their problem but they could fix it for 3thousand dollars more by breaking up the just completed basement tiles etc.. When we pointed out that the job was done after sandy they hemmed and hawed and said well the fine print on the contract says that if water comes up farther than 3 feet from their pipes it is not their problem but they could fix it for 1500. I demanded to speak to [redacted] the person who swore to me that it would be designed to keep it dry but they refused to let me speak to him and no matter how many times I tried I could not get to [redacted]. I am going to try to get the attorney general and any other agency there is to go after these crooks. Avoid them like the plague.Desired Settlement: I want first to speak to the original sales person [redacted] who promised that his workers would solve the problem if we paid for the job they designed for these basements. Next I want them to correct the problem and not charge for that correction as we will have the added expense of re tiling after their fix.

Response:

I am sorry that I did not reply but I spoke to [redacted] back in January and she informed me that she had requested that the matter be withdrawn from the Revdex.com. If there is any change to that, please let me know but that is what my understanding is. Sincerely,[redacted]
